Well its Memorial Day and it was a long weekend of dealing with tourists so I needed a stress reliever.Broke out the last of my 17year old Israeli surplus ammo. This stuff either got moist at one point (well before I even got it) or has super stiff primer's as all of the 500 rounds Ive shot over the last 2 decades had to be double stuck to fire on about 40% of it. weak loads as well. I liked it cause it would help me to not anticipate to the shot, you'll see that its an issue for me but gets fixed after 3 or 4 double strikes. I also used some Winchester white box 115 gr FMJ to get a tight group on a reactive target. Basically just screwin around and having some fun. The S&W has been a reliable gun and was very reasonable when I got it 17yrs ago. I actually would consider selling it, hasnt seen 1000 yet as it was primarily part of a home defense system. Pash, this is the teeter-totter. Teeter-totter, Pash. I decided that Memorial Day weekend would be a good time to introduce Pash to the teeter-totter. I admit, a large part of that decision was because I had Mom to help me set up the equipment and run the camera (thanks, Mom!). Total training time was about 6 minutes. Notes: The teeter-totter is incredibly squeaky because the metal bar it pivots on runs through a PVC pipe. We could grease the pipe, but then it would be very messy to deal with...so we just don't worry about it. Having an noisy teeter-totter for training is a plus in my book. And the plank is just 8' because that's what fits in our trailer. Commentary: In the first clip the table is set at 20" and pushed quite far underneath the end of the plank. I allowed for tip on both ends because I wanted to be able to click Pash for making the plank move a LOT. In the second clip the table is still at 20" but has been pushed back to allow for more tip. The pink thing at the end is a small disc for Pash to target with his front paws. I have not yet trained a behavior for the end of the teeter-totter (it will either be 2o2o or a down/crouch at the very end) but this kept him in the correct general area. In the third clip the table is set at 14" and we reversed the teeter-totter so that it will only tip "down". Special thanks to Bailey for providing color commentary during the training session.

Celebrating Memorial Day properly :) Went to visit my Mom and step-Father in WV for Memorial Day. Mom decided to let us talk her into going target shooting with us. This is her first time firing a handgun. She picked my step-Father's Rock Island Armory 1911A1 Government Model, cause it's what she'd be likely to pick up if a bad guy came in. She later put some rounds through my Beretta 92FS later. She had a lot of fun with both guns, liked them both, and turns out to be able to shoot really well ...
