On July 13, 1985, Reagan underwent surgery at Bethesda Naval Hospital to remove cancerous polyps from his colon. This caused the first-ever invocation of the acting president clause of the 25th Amendment. The surgery lasted just under three hours and was successful. Reagan resumed the powers of the presidency later that day. In August of that year, he underwent an operation to remove skin cancer cells from his nose. In October, additional skin cancer cells that were detected on his nose were removed. Two years later, on January 5, Reagan underwent surgery for an enlarged prostate which caused further worries about his health. No cancerous growths were found, however, and he was not sedated during the operation. In July of that year, aged 76, he underwent a third skin cancer operation on his nose. Earlier in his presidency, Reagan started wearing a custom, technologically advanced hearing aid, first in his right ear and later in his left as well. His decision to go public with his wearing the small, audio-amplifying device boosted their sales. The Reagan administration was criticized for its slow response to the growing HIV-AIDS epidemic. As thousands became infected with the virus, President Reagan did not increase funding to try to discover cures, rather he downplayed the situation and only acknowledged that it was an issue of concern at the May 31, 1987 Third International Conference on AIDS in Washington. During his 1980 campaign, Reagan pledged that, if given the ...

José Feliciano (born September 10, 1945) is a Puerto Rican singer, virtuoso guitarist and composer, known for many international hits including the 1970 holiday single "Feliz Navidad". He was born permanently blind owing to congenital glaucoma.Besides his musical skills, Feliciano is known for his strong sense of humor. He constantly makes fun of people's reactions to his blindness, and has even played practical jokes on friends and family based on this. Once his then bass player, Ted Arnold, contrived to allow Feliciano to appear to be driving down a busy street, fooling the passing police. During a show he once said, "I was going to dedicate this song to Jackie Kennedy but I can't see her anywhere in the audience."[cite this quote]He has performed comedy sketches alongside Freddie Prinze, Sunshine Logroño, the staff of Despierta América and Verónica Castro, among others. He has also parodied fellow artists in his concerts, among them: Julio Iglesias, Raphael, the late Rocío Jurado and Isabel Pantoja. An occasional song at his Spanish concerts is a parody of Bobby Capó's song "El Bardo". While the Right Said Fred song "I'm Too Sexy" was popular in the early 1990s, Feliciano closed his English concerts with a parody of it.His performance of "Old Turkey Buzzard" became a recurring bit on The Late Show with David Letterman in 2007, until Feliciano himself appeared on the show on October 16 of that year to perform a live rendition of the song.In Mid-December 2009, a parody ...

Glenn Beck 20100115 Part 1/4
Harry Reid finally apologized to Barack Obama on Saturday for the 2008 remark he made about him, calling Obama a "light-skinned" black man "with no Negro dialect unless he wanted to have one. I guess it's just a coinsedence that he all of a sudden felt bad for what he had said, at the same time a book was released, quoting him on it. He told Obama that he had used "a poor choice of words", in wich Obama then quickly accepted the apology. However, in 2002, Obama was VERY offended at what REPUBLICAN Senator Trent Lott said about praising FORMER segregationist, Strom Thurmond. Obama said "The Republican Party itself has to drive out Trent Lott. If they have to stand for something, they have to stand up and say this is not the person we want representing our party." So then, it's double standard Mr. President! If the Democratic Party should stand for something GOOD in our nation, shouldn't they demand Harry Reid to resign? Maybe they're ALL just bunch of people who think you're a "light-skinned" black man "with no Negro dialect. Are those the kind of people you want in your party? You know, your Democrats are defending Harry Reid. Democratic National Committee Chairman, Tim Kaine said "It definitely was in the context of recognizing in Senator Obama, a great candidate, and future president." Diane Frankenstien said that Harry Reid "just made a mistake." It's now even being reported that during the 2008 campaign Ted Kennedy had stated that once while Bill Clinton was in the ...

This is a wide-ranging assortment of some apt quotes. There's a bit of a loose structure to the order, with some sort of message in there.
