At 3:34 am local time, today, February 27th, a devastating magnitude 8.8 earthquake struck Chile, one of the strongest earthquakes ever recorded. According to Chile's interior minister, at least 214 people are now known to have been killed. The earthquake also triggered a Tsunami which is right now propagating across the Pacific Ocean, due to arrive in Hawaii in hours (around 11:00 am local time). La noche del Viernes estabamos con mi amigo VYERO, cantante chileno radicado en México con el cual grabamos un video clip para su canción "ESTA NOCHE NO SE ACABA". Ver aquí el video terminado: www.vimeo.com Antes del sismo estuvimos grabando en pasarelas peatonales sobre la avenida Kennedy, en la zona de los edificios de El Golf y Presidente Riesco etc. Ya habíamos terminado y decidimos grabar tomas de la ciudad y sus autopistas a toda velocidad, nuestro plan era entrar a kennedy y luego ir a Costanera Norte y luego Vespucio Sur. Antes de partir a hacer eso, decidimos por suerte grabar tres escenas más y eso nos demoró y permitió que el terremoto nos tomara por sorpresa grabando en el auto. De hecho tenemos otro video que es uno o dos minutos antes en donde vemos como se apagan todas las luces de la ciudad, eso nos hace pensar ahora que el sismo ya había comenzado pero en el auto no lo percibimos. Cuando estabamos por entrar a avenida Kennedy siento que el auto se pone incontrolable con la misma sensación de andar con las ruedas totalmente chatas, pinchadas, pero no una, sino las 4, por eso frené automáticamente pensando en un pinchazo. Ahí, en un par de segundos, el ruido fue aterrador, el movimiento era fuerte a pesar de estar en un auto con amortiguadores y sin objetos cayendo sobre nuestras cabezas. Por esto mismo mi primera reacción es pensar en la suerte de no haber estado solo en mi depto en el piso 18. Otra reacción que ha causado polémica y risas es que hablamos ...
