This partial wrestling match from 1949 between Wild Red Barry (Berry) and Angelo Martinelli is part of a test reel that's been in my collection for quite some time. The action took place in Turner's Arena in Washington DC. This is raw test footage that has not been seen by the public until now. The first part of this reel features a tag team midget match, which you cane find here: www.youtube.com Both matches are available on one DVD for just $17 (free usa shipping) Turner's Arena was the name given to a 2000 seat arena, located near the northeast corner of 14th and W Streets, NW in Washington, DC, and originally owned by local wrestling promoter Joe Turner. This venue was an early home to the Capitol Wrestling Corporation, a precursor to World Wrestling Entertainment, which was started by Vincent J. McMahon in January 1953. McMahon took over the territory from Gabe Menendez, who had succeeded Turner after his death in 1947. In addition, the arena hosted top professional boxing matches promoted by Goldie Ahearn featuring fighters such as Lou Gevinson, Lew Hanbury, and Jimmy Cooper. It was also the birthplace of the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association annual basketball tournament, as well as the host to top country music acts and Jazz performances. It was renamed Capitol Arena in 1956 once Capitol Wrestling Corporation began broadcasting a syndicated weekly wrestling show from the arena every Thursday night.

If I start to make a tribute about a dead wrestler, I use to think about what I remember, what made this wrestler special to me. In the case of Test, it was not one match or one particular SL, it was this blog he wrote after Eddie Guerrero died. From that day on, I kept an eye on him and checked his website regularly, because it showed me what a courageous person he was. He wasn't afraid to tell the truth. So I decided to make a video about this blog, and to tell every wrestling fan and everyone who want to become a wrestler and all the guys who laugh at wrestling and the wrestlers what these guys go through every day. Afterwards, I give him a ten-bell salute, because wrestling fans know how to honor dead wrestlers. Some promoters will never learn this. If Vince McMahon talks about "The Wrestler" with Mickey Rourke, he keeps on saying that these things don't happen in WWE. Well, watch this video, perhaps you'll understand why I use to call him a hypocrit. The reason why I only added 2 pictures is simple: These pics are from his myspace, so I do not infringe WWE copyright with this. If they had any possibility to delete it, I guess they would.
This is a tribute to Wrestlers that have passed away between 1993-2009, the song used is "Tell Me a Lie" which was used by the WWE for the Shawn Micheals Tribute. All these wrestlers are ones that I remember so there may be some missing, if so I apologise. I have decided to not use Chris Benoit in my tribute due to the circumstances which lead to his death in 2007. A former WWE wrestler has been found dead in his Tampa apartment. Andrew Martin, better known as Test, was found dead by Tampa Police around 8:00 Friday night. Police were called to his home for a welfare check after a neighbor said she could see into his apartment at Post Harbor Apartments and noticed that Test appeared motionless for several hours. Right now, Police say they don't think there was any foul play involved. An autopsy will be done to determine the cause of death. Andrew "Test" Martin was a former World Wrestling Entertainment Intercontinental, European, and Hardcore Champion, as well as a Tag-Team Champion.
