This is FDR's proposed second Bill of Rights that was filmed after he delivered his State of the Union Address via radio on January 11, 1944.
This is a project for my American Government Class.
Franklin Delano Roosevelt proposed a Second Bill of Rights in a speech on January 11, 1944. This was an economic Bill of Rights.
For us to understand part of what is wrong with our government and congress, we must first understand what the job of a lawyer is. We must know that lawyers do not nor ever will represent justice, truth, and fair equalible treatment for all. To put it plainly lawyers are to use the law in their clients behalf, and nothing more. If you understand what I am saying then you might understand what is happening in congress with all those politicians that are lawyers and nothing more. The second part of this video is about our bill of rights and what the first ten amendments really mean to us and why our congress is constintinly trying to change or eliminate those words from our constitution. Our congress realizes that the bill of right is the most limiting paragraphs that they come up against. And from the day of their conception people in our government has tried to remove or change what they are. For once the congress can change one then they know they will be able to eliminate all. The Bill of Rights are the first ten amendments to the United States Constitution. They were introduced as a series of amendments in 1789 in the First United States Congress by James Madison. Ten of the amendments were ratified and became the Bill of Rights in 1791. These amendments limit the powers of the federal government, protecting the rights of all citizens, residents and visitors on United States territory. Among the enumerated rights these amendments guarantee are: the freedoms of speech, press, and religion; the right to keep and bear arms; the freedom of assembly; the freedom to petition; and the rights to be free of unreasonable search and seizure; cruel and unusual punishment; and compelled self-incrimination.
