The Mighty Clouds Of Joy - Leanin', from the 1975 album Kickin'. Written by David B. Crawford and Carl Mann Produced by David B. Crawford Dave Crawford was a very talented singer, keyboard player and songwriter, who is perhaps most notable for producing - and writing the majority of - Candi Staton's classic soul-disco albums Young Hearts Run Free and House Of Love. He also wrote and produced Linda Lyndell's What A Man (1969), which was remade in 1994 by Salt 'N' Pepa and En Vogue, wrote / co-wrote several songs for his cousin Jackie Moore's album Sweet Charlie Babe including the hit Precious, Precious, and produced - and wrote / co-wrote much of - The Mighty Clouds Of Joy's 1974 and 1975 albums It's Time and Kickin', and BB King's albums To Know You Is To Love You (1973) and Friends (1974), on both of which he led an all-star group of musicians including Philly legends such as Baker, Harris, Young and Vince Montana, and Six Silver Strings (1985). To Know You Is To Love You of course contains the wonderful title track, a meeting of great minds in the shape of a 22-year-old Stevie Wonder on electric piano, his co-writer Syreeta Wright, BB, Baker, Harris, Young, The Memphis Horns, and production by Crawford. Dave Crawford's specialism was the ability to find and develop natural musical bridges between genres: soul-disco, soul-disco-gospel, blues-soul-disco. The results, as you can hear, are never less than brilliantly uplifting.

Use arrow at right to find lyric list...glad to do tune with friends Lindsay (piano), Steve (bass), Mark (drums), Marlis and Katie (backing vocals). Recorded 8/1/10. lyrics: Those old bad dreams Been sleeping in your head Those old dark clouds Been hanging around your head But all your hard times Will vanish in the wind When the mighty clouds of joy Come rolling in Ohhhh, Holy Jesus Let your love seize us Oh, let us find sweet peace within Hallelujah! Happiness begins, When the mighty clouds of joy Come rolling in. Those old storm clouds Are slowly drifting by And those old raindrops Are fading from your eyes And oh, Mr. Sun, Gonna shine on us again When the mighty clouds of joy Come rolling in Ohhhh, Holy Jesus Let your love seize us Oh, let us find sweet peace within Hallelujah! Happiness begins, When the mighty clouds of joy Come rolling in Holy Jesus Won´t you let your love seize us Let us find sweet peace within Hallelujah! Happiness begins, When the mighty clouds of joy Come rolling in
