I was skiing in Brooklyn's Prospect Park and I found a roll of film. I had the film developed and this is what I found. Please contact me if you recognize the people in the photos. firstname.lastname@example.org Pictures were found by the Audubon Society Building in Prospect Park between 1-3PM on Thursday December 30th. Go to: www.flickr.com to see an image of the two men that appear in several of the photos - who I can only assume are the owners. Thanks everyone for the support! Your emails and messages have been amazing. As of Wednesday Jan 26th at 6PM -- I have NOT found the owners of the film. I'll keep you updated. By the way -- This story is 100% true. Cross my heart. I didn't realize that would even be an issue for some people. haha. Just interested in telling my story and finding the owners. The music is by Redneck Manifesto. THE NEW SCHOOL | www.newschool.edu Journalist Chris Hedges discusses his recent book Empire of Illusion the End of Literacy and the Triumph of Spectacle. In it, he charts the dramatic rise of a post-literate society that craves fantasy, ecstasy, and illusion. Hedges argues we now live in two societies: one, the minority, functions in a print-based, literate world and can cope with complexity and can separate illusion from truth; the other, a growing majority, is retreating from a reality-based world into one of false certainty and magic where serious film and theater, as well as newspapers and books, are being pushed to the margins. Chris Hedges, author of War Is a Force That Gives Us Meaning, is currently a senior fellow at The Nation Institute and the Anschutz Distinguished Fellow at Princeton University. He writes for many publications, including Foreign Affairs, Harpers, The New York Review of Books, Granta, and Mother Jones. He is also a columnist for Truthdig.com. China, India, Brazil and South Africa In The World Economy Part 1 THE NEW SCHOOL FOR SOCIAL RESEARCH | www.newschool.edu This lecture analyzes the economic implications of the rise of China, India, Brazil, and South Africa for the world economy. It examines the possible impact of their rapid growth on both industrialized and developing countries. The essential question is whether these four countries could be the new engines of growth for the world economy. The answer depends on the nature of their transformation and catch-up, which could span half a century or longer. Even so, rapid growth in these large emerging economies is already beginning to change the balance of economic power in the world. THE NEW SCHOOL | www.newschool.edu The New School hosts Peter M. Rutkoff, professor of American studies at Kenyon College, as he delivers a lecture commemorating the universitys 90th anniversary. Professor Rutkoff co-authored New School A History of The New School for Social Research, a groundbreaking study of the university and the only publication to deal in depth with its history. In light of current debates on the challenges posed by urban schooling, pedagogy, and philosophy, Rutkoff reexamines the influence of The New School in progressive education. He asks whether John Deweys teachings are still a suitable guide to progressive education 150 years after his birth and discusses school and university alliances and the continuing importance of experiential pedagogy. In the words of Zorah Neale Hurston, he urges American schools to leave the classroom. Segment A: "No Man Is an Island" Yzmas latest scheme to get rid of Kuzco is a little more simplistic then usual. She decides to just put him in a box and ship him away. When Kronk sets a trap for Kuzco, he also ends up capturing Malina, and shipping them to a deserted island. While Yzma decides to begin her palace remodeling, Kronk heads to the island to save Malina, and maybe Kuzco. In order to stop Kronk from rescuing Kuzco, Yzma heads to the island. Meanwhile, Malina ends up becoming an idol for the monkeys, who do anything she wants. Kuzco then gets them to make him their king, but the two end up being sacrifices to their real idol a giant monkey. *32nd attempt to destroy Kuzco. Segment B: "Vincent Van Guaka" Kuzco invites Malina, Kronk, Yata, and Guaka over to play games, where they discover Guakas fear of drawing. His father wants him to be an artist, so he entered him in the art competition to be held the next day. Kuzco hates seeing Guaka so depressed (since he keeps spilling his drinks), so he sneaks into Yzmas lab to find a painting potion. When it turns out that Yzma used the last one, Kuzco must make another one. When he goes to test it at the art fair, his pterodactyl drawing comes to life and takes Guakas father for a ride! Now it is up to Guaka to save his dad. Original Air Date: January 14, 2008

With some determination and the right attitude, you can quickly turn some of those strangers into friends. To complete this How-To you will need: Confidence Courage Motivation A bright smile A computer with internet access Step 1: Whether you like it or not, kids form initial opinions based on clothes, hair, and fashion sense. Make an extra effort to look your best those first few days. Looking good will boost your confidence, too! Tip: You're not going to be rolling in friends on Day 1. Devote the first couple of weeks to laying solid groundwork. Step 2: Come out of your shell. If you're naturally shy, you don't have to fake a new personality. But try to avoid looking at the ground, and flash a smile once in a while. The easier you are to approach and start a conversation with, the more other kids will want to talk to you. Step 3: Find excuses to talk to people. Once you get a conversation going, be a good listener and offer up a compliment or two, no matter how small. Tip: Build up a little courage and sit in the middle of the classroom to surround yourself with as many potential new ...
