Yes, toothpaste fills in the scratches and stuff, but when you wash it off, the toothpaste runs out of the scratches, so it's a reverse right after you wash it off. Some say vaseline or some wax works, is it true? NO, do not attempt to do this. If ruins your disk more, because of smears when washed. If it is kept on, the disk does not work. Do not attempt. It does work, but it is only temporary, and after that, it's ruined more. They say this is only a use if you will burn the CD right after you find out it works. Use this as a last resort. Do metal polishers work? I'm not sure, but I believe they do. I did not have any metal polishers at the time, so I tried deodorant, and it worked best for me. What kind of disks will the deodorant work on? GOOD QUESTION! It will work on white-coated CDs. Black coated CDs YOU WILL NEED TO BE CAREFUL ON!
