At the range my buddy decides on bringing out the family heirloom; The Roosevelt Rifle! Chambered in .405 with a 300 grain bullet. While not the most powerful weapon and bullet of the world this is among the legends. No fancy recoil absorber in the barrell like the Barret M82, nor the gas parts to soak up the power. Raw punch that is capable of bringing down the largest of earth's beasts, super mutants, dinosaurs and beyond! This is old school power with an internal magazine capacity of 5 rounds (6 if you chamber one in the breech) American Legend Teddy Roosevelt called this 'The Medicine Gun for Lions' we call it a giant slayer! "Slams like a bear, punches like a train! I was given a FN FAL to warm up with, after a few shots with that I was given a turn with the Winchester... Model 1895 Winchester: Chambered for .405 with a muzzle velocity of over 2250 fps and a 300 grain bullet. Feel the power and the recoil! Language caution advised!

The Theodore Roosevelt Award presented to SC Jeremy Borchardt.
Theodore 'Teddy' Roosevelt, the 26th President of the United States, and whom I don't need to explain much, delivers a speech for 1912 Presidential election, "The Right of People to Rule".Recorded at his home at Oyster Bay, New York on August 16th, 1912. He made several other recordings on Victor Records for his election, but the Edison cylinders are much better to listen, since they are so unbelievably well-recorded. In fact, these are some of the finest recordings of its time. Roosevelt's delivery is so relaxed as to give the feeling that he is actually in the room with you. I don't usually post a political remarks here, but TR's message in this speech is still worth hearing even for the people who are not US citizen. It surely helps you to understand what the word 'Democracy' means. Here's the full text of the recording. The great fundamental issue now before our people can be stated briefly. It is, are the American people fit to govern themselves, to rule themselves, to control themselves? I believe they are. My opponents do not. I believe in the right of the people to rule. I believe that the majority of the plain people of the United States will, day in and day out, make fewer mistakes in governing themselves than any smaller class or body of men, no matter what their training, will make in trying to govern them. I believe, again, that the American people are, as a whole, capable of self-control, and of learning by their mistakes. Our opponents pay lip-loyalty to ...
Born in New York City, Roosevelt graduated from Harvard in 1880. He emerged as the leader of reform Republicans in the New York State Assembly in the early 1880s. Thereafter, he pushed practical reforms as head of the US Civil Service Commission (1889-1895), president of the New York City police commission (1895-1897), assistant secretary of the navy (1897-1898), and governor of New York (1899-1900). He vigorously advocated war against Spain in 1898 and then performed heroically in Cuba as colonel of a volunteer cavalry unit, the "Rough Riders."

On June 18, 1910, Theodore Roosevelt returned to New York City after a fifteen-month tour abroad, having travelled through Africa and western Europe. An elaborate city celebration drawing a million people marked his homecoming. Aboard the ocean liner Kaiserin Auguste Victoria ex-President and Mrs. Roosevelt were met by a revenue cutter, the Manhattan, carrying the Roosevelt children. TR then went aboard a larger cutter, the Androscoggin, and officially became a guest of the city. After boating up the Hudson River along the New Jersey shore to West Fifty-Ninth St., the Androscoggin moved back along the Manhattan shore to Battery Park, followed by a water parade of almost one hundred vessels. TR was greeted by Mayor William J. Gaynor at the Park, where both briefly spoke to an assembled crowd, with notables seated on a flag-draped stand expanded for the occasion to hold 600 people. Battery ceremonies were followed by a parade up Broadway and Fifth Avenue to the Fifty-Ninth St. plaza, where it dispersed. In the parade TR, Mayor William J. Gaynor, and chairman of the city's welcoming committee, Cornelius Vanderbilt, together rode in an open carriage, preceded by TR's regiment of Rough Riders, First United States Volunteer Cavalry. Also in the parade were approximately 2000 other veterans of the Spanish-American War. This film is an automobile tour of a portion of the arrival parade route of President Theodore Roosevelt along Market Street, San Francisco, on Tuesday, May 12, 1903. The film was shot in the mid-afternoon, shortly before the parade, which traversed this portion of the route in the reverse direction shown here. The earlier portion of the route is seen in the film "Over Route of Roosevelt Parade in an Automobile" (1903). The following is a scene-by-scene description of the film: [Frame: 0308] The Native Son's Monument is the column on the left at the intersection of Turk and Mason streets. Two sequences of TR: Sequence 1: views of TR walking onto the porch of Sagamore Hill, Oyster Bay, NY, facing the camera, and then speaking on military preparedness during WWI; Sequence 2: views of TR sitting at his desk in the Metropolitan Magazine office in New York City and speaking with a man who may be Carl Hovey, editor of the magazine.
First film footage taken of Theodore Roosevelt at his home at Sagamore Hill, Oyster Bay, Long Island, summer of 1912. Views of the house and surrounding grounds. Roosevelt reviews his mail, assisted by his son Archie. William P. Helm, Associated Press correspondent for New York City and Washington from 1910 to 1918, who was detailed to Woodrow Wilson and Roosevelt during the 1912 campaign, speaks informally with Roosevelt under trees. Roosevelt rides his horse Sidar away from Sagamore and stops to feed horse from his hand; Roosevelt and his dogs set out across field with Sagamore visible in background. Roosevelt, in white shirt and vest, chops down a tree. Band and crowd of men on Sagamore grounds. Roosevelt addressing large group of men from Sagamore porch. American flag flying. Last sequences of band, crowd, and flag were probably not included in original Pathé production.
