"Beat It" is a song written and performed by American recording artist Michael Jackson and co-produced by Quincy Jones for the singer's sixth solo album, Thriller (1982). Eddie Van Halen was drafted to add the song's distinctive overdriven guitar solo. Following the successful chart performances of the Thriller singles "The Girl Is Mine" and "Billie Jean", "Beat It" was released on February 14, 1983 as the album's third single. The song was promoted with a short film that featured Jackson bringing two gangs together through the power of dance. A commercial success, "Beat It" was awarded two Grammy Awards and two American Music Awards and was inducted into the Music Video Producers Hall of Fame. "Beat It" (along with the song's music video) propelled Thriller into becoming the best-selling album of all time. The single was certified platinum in 1989. Rolling Stone magazine placed "Beat It" in the 337th spot on its list of The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. In the decades since its release, "Beat It" has been covered, parodied, and sampled by numerous artists including Fergie, Weird Al Yankovic, and Fall Out Boy. The song was also featured in the National Highway Safety Commission's anti-drunk driving campaign

Video editing by Fabian Manzano Influential Sessions (Song Note): In my opinion, MJ was one of the greatest, if not the greatest entertainer of all time. Whether it was dancing, singing, or writing many of these classic hits, he was a pioneer with a unique sound/style. One of the most difficult things to pull off as an artist is to have your own sound and his was instantly recognizable! We have all been influenced by MJ, and his artistry will truly be missed. Im proud to say that even when it wasn't "cool" to blast one of his songs out your car stereo, like we heard all throughout the city of New York the day he passed away, I have always been blaring his music. So, though we knew that any cover of his music would pale in comparison to the original, we were still compelled to give a shout out to the late great in this time of need, by doing our rendition of one of our favorite songs of his, "Will You Be There." ~Alejandro Manzano~

HIStory is the best-selling multiple disc albums ever for a solo artist, with worldwide sales over 20 million (40 million in terms of units). Jackson wrote the majority of the songs attacking the press for "scandalizing" him and gave messages to fans to not "feed" into the tabloids. One of the singles (the first to be released) was "Scream", a duet between Michael and sister Janet, who had agreed to do a duet with her brother after she felt that she "had made it to the top and she didn't fear that she'd "had to ride Michael's coattails". Other songs that attacked the tabloids included "Tabloid Junkie" and "This Time Around". The Michael and Janet duet was one of several tunes Jackson produced with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis ("2 Bad", "HIStory", "Tabloid Junkie") but not without additional help from the likes of Dallas Austin ("This Time Around"), R. Song: Bad. Sung & Performed by: Michael Jackson. Song written by: Michael Jackson. Produced by: Michael Jackson and Quincy Jones. Album: "Bad" August 31, 1987. Music video directed by: Martin Scorsese. Music video choreographed by: Jeffrey Daniel. Song Record Label: Epic Records. Niceties by: www.youtube.com Synopsis! "Bad" was a 1987 hit recording by American singer Michael Jackson. The song was the second of five Billboard Hot 100 number-one hit singles from the album Bad, (the first a time a recording artist achieved this feat) and was his seventh number-one single overall. The song was originally intended as a duet with longtime rival Prince, which one can infer with the song's lyrics. Quincy Jones, in an interview included in the special edition of Bad, said that Prince told Jackson and him that he had not wanted to participate because "it would be a hit without (him)". In a 1996 interview with German TV, Prince also humorously said that the reason he didn't want to participate was the first line "Your butt is mine", and that he said to Jackson; "I ain't saying that to you... and you sure ain't saying that to me!" In his 1988 autobiography Moonwalk, Jackson wrote: 'Bad' is a song about the street. It's about this kid from a bad neighborhood who gets to go away to a private school. He comes back to the old neighborhood when he's on a break from school and the kids from the neighborhood start giving him trouble. He sings, 'I'm bad, you're bad, who's bad, who's the best ...

Michael Jackson For All Time (Album 25 Thriller) Unreleased Song from Thriller Session : HIS MUSIC WILL LIVE FOREVER
"Blood on the Dance Floor" is the first single from Michael Jackson's remix album Blood on the Dance Floor: HIStory in the Mix. Jackson and Teddy Riley created the track in time for the 1991 release of Dangerous. However, it did not appear on that record and was minimally altered before commercial release in 1997. The song is about a predatory woman by the name of Susie, who seduces Jackson before plotting to stab him with a knife. The composition explores a variety of genres ranging from rock to funk. Commentators compared "Blood on the Dance Floor" to music from Dangerous. Others commented on the songs perceived aggressive tone and the vocal style, the broad genres heard and possible lyrical interpretations of the song. Reviews at the time of release were largely mixed, but contemporary reviews have been favorable. The song was promoted with a music video that premiered on Top of the Pops. It centered around Susie seducing Jackson in a courtship dance, before opening a switchblade. "Blood on the Dance Floor" was the only track from the remix album performed on the HIStory World Tour. The lead single peaked at number one in several countries, including the UK.

Michael Jackson - Billie Jean (Motown 25th Anniversary Yesterday Today And Forever) His 1st Moonwalk Performance "Billie Jean" is a dance-pop R&B song by American recording artist Michael Jackson. It was written by Jackson and produced by Quincy Jones for the singer's sixth solo album, Thriller (1982). Originally disliked by Jones, the track was almost removed from the album after he and Jackson had numerous disagreements. The song's lyrics refer to a real-life experience, in which a mentally ill female fan claimed that Jackson had fathered one of her twins. The song is well known for its distinctive bass line and Jackson's vocal hiccups. The song was mixed 91 times by Bruce Swedien before it was finalized. Following the successful chart performance of "The Girl Is Mine", "Billie Jean" was released on January 2, 1983, as the album's second single. "Billie Jean" was a worldwide commercial and critical success; it became one of the best-selling singles of 1983, and topped both the US and UK charts simultaneously. Cited as one of the most revolutionary songs in history, "Billie Jean" was certified platinum in 1989. Honored numerous timesâincluding two Grammy Awards, one American Music Award and an induction into the Music Video Producers Hall of Fameâthe song and corresponding music video propelled Thriller into the best-selling album of all time.
