RMS Titanic was the largest passenger steamship in the world when she set off on her maiden voyage from Southampton, England, to New York City on 10 April 1912. Four days into the crossing, at 23:40 on 14 April 1912, she struck an iceberg and sank at 2:20 the following morning, resulting in the deaths of 1517 people in one of the deadliest peacetime maritime disasters in history. An Olympic-class passenger liner, RMS Titanic was owned by the White Star Line and constructed at the Harland and Wolff shipyard in Belfast, Ireland. She set sail for New York City with 2227 people on board. The high casualty rate when the ship sank was due in part to the fact that, although complying with the regulations of the time, the ship carried lifeboats for only 1178 people. A disproportionate number of men died due to the women and children first protocol that was followed. Titanic was designed by some of the most experienced engineers, and used some of the most advanced technologies available at the time. It was a great shock to many that, despite the extensive safety features, Titanic sank, and the fact that it sank on its maiden voyage added to the particularly ironic nature of the tragedy. The frenzy on the part of the media about Titanic's famous victims, the legends about the sinking, the resulting changes to maritime law, and the discovery of the wreck have contributed to the interest in Titanic. None of the videos so far on YouTube depict this scene in a respectable fashion, so I decided to record my own.
www.artehistoria.com The sinking of the Titanic was one of the events that shook public opinion the most at that time. Being also one of the events that generated more documentation in the form of books, photographs, films, documentaries, etc.. The majestic ship, was launched on May the 31st of 1911, beginning on April the 10th of 1912, its inaugural trip between Southampton and New York. In the mid-Atlantic, the Titanic's radio operator received notice of another boat, the California, warning of the presence of icebergs in the vicinity. At 11:40 pm, the bow lookout sounded the alarm about the presence of a giant block of ice. Despite many attempts to vary the course, it was too late, as the Titanic was sailing at a speed of 22 knots and a half. The contact with the bow caused a huge gap, but no alarm among the passengers, as the confidence in the boat was absolute. Quickly the first five compartments, constructed with an opening at the top, were flooded. Despite having pumps capable to bail out the water, the ship's command decided to use the energy reserves to maintain the lighting and the radio waiting for help. It was a fateful ecision, as the water moved quickly, making four meters sink the ship's bow. Meanwhile, the crew attempted to put the passengers in the lifeboats, only enough boats for half of the passengers. In addition, the panic caused many of the places provided on the lifeboats to be left unoccupied. Once they lowered the lifeboats, there were still about ...

The TRUTH behind the sinking of the Titanic and the corruption surrounding its destruction. Evidence suggests the sunken vessel was in fact The Titanic's sister ship the Olympic.

First off... this is not intended to accumulate profit of any kind... it was made pro-bono for the sole purpose to entertain and to stir emotionally(is that not what all art intends?)... anyways, I do not own rights to any of the material used within the confines of this clip.. i merely arranged and juxtaposed the two works on top of each other. Furthermore, about 85% what you see is completely untouched and straight from the movie... i merely dissected and replaced about 30-50 seconds(cant remember exactly) of footage to better accompany the audio track.. but other than that.. everything is straight out of the movie. anyways.. i hope you enjoy. -nods-

More Info: www.rapidnadion.com (Description below) This is the same 30" Academy-Minicraft model as in some of the other videos, but we've mounted a camera on the bow and stern (front and back) to show you what it's like to be aboard the ship when it sinks to the bottom. The water was approximately six feet deep. We used a FlyCamOne(2) for the bow footage and an off-brand "gum camera" for the stern. Yes, we did retrieve the model (with a fishing line tied to the hull) - this video is a composite of two separate sinkings. Enjoy!
The RMS Titanic was an Olympic-class passenger liner owned by the White Star Line and was built at the Harland and Wolff shipyard in Belfast, in what is now Northern Ireland. At the time of her construction, she was the largest passenger steamship in the world. Four days into the Titanic's maiden voyage, on 14 April 1912 shortly before midnight, the ship struck an iceberg, sinking early on 15 April 1912, two hours and forty minutes later. The sinking resulted in the deaths of 1517 of the 2223 people on board, making it one of the deadliest peacetime maritime disasters in history. The high casualty rate was due in part to the fact that, although complying with the regulations of the time, the ship did not carry enough lifeboats for everyone aboard. The ship had a total lifeboat capacity of 1178 people, although her maximum capacity was 3547. A disproportionate number of men died due to the women and children first protocol that was followed. The Titanic was designed by some of the most experienced engineers, and used some of the most advanced technologies available at the time. It was popularly believed to have been unsinkable. It was a great shock to many that, despite the extensive safety features, the Titanic sank. The frenzy on the part of the media about the Titanic's famous victims, the legends about the sinking, the resulting changes to maritime law, and the discovery of the wreck have contributed to the continuing interest in, and notoriety of, the Titanic.

The iceberg ripped open the first 5 compartments and the Titanic sank in the early hours of April 15th, taking the lives of 1523 men, women and children. ONLY 705 survived that night.

We intended this to be a sinking Titanic video with an on-board camera, but temperatures were too cold for the waterproof camera to operate, so that'll have to wait until spring. In the meantime, here's the 30" Titanic model from our other videos, this time shot from different angles and including sound - listen for the whistling of air escaping during the final plunge. The model is by Academy-Minicraft, with custom modifications including "iceberg damage" and special interior compartmentalization and sealing. Considering it's been 2 years since the last sinking of this model, we think it's held up pretty well. Approximate time for this sinking was three minutes. I have slowed the video by 25% from the 1:10 mark onward. Thanks for your continued interest!
I have attempted to create the Titanic story (compressing it down to 10 minutes) using screen captures from the computer game: Ship Simulator 2008. While most of the scenes in this movie are screen captures from the game, some of the scenes come from the 1997 movie. This is because such scenes could not be captured from the game, such as the engine room sequence. Also, I am aware that the ship does not break in half in this movie as it did in real life, again, this is due to the limitations of the game. No copyright infringement intended for "Titanic" scenes and music from the 1997 movie. This video is for entertainment purposes only. This is a re-uploaded version of my previous video, which was unfortunately jittery due to an excessively low bit-rate.

I've always wondered what it looked like if you rewound the Titanic sinking footage, and that's what I decided to do. I couldn't get the audio to sound ok backwards, so I added Hymn to the Sea by James Horner. Also, sorry for the few cutting issues. I tried to fix them in editing but they kept on showing up. Must have something to do with the reversed footage. Anyway, enjoy and leave comments!
