Tuesday 2nd June 2009 - after problems with bullying at his old school Eggbuckland Community College, Tom Daley has enrolled at a Plymouth College public school. Tom has received a substantial scholarship to support his education. Daley said "I'm really looking forward to going to Plymouth College and being with other young people who understand the pressures of high-level competition." Plymouth College - which prides itself on its swimming programme - confirmed it had talked to Tom's father. Eggbuckland said that its policy was to deal firmly with bullying. Plymouth College headmaster Dr Simon Wormleighton said: "Nothing has been agreed at the moment, but we would be very interested." "The school would be well suited to him." He said that the school, which has a number of national swimming awards, was regarded as one of the best in the country for swimming. Tom, 14, from Plymouth, was on the British team at the Beijing games and earlier this week won silver at the World Series in Sheffield. Mr Wormleighton said that the school had a long record of taking in elite sports pupils. "We are well set up to meet Tom's needs." "We have a tradition of a flexible academic programme for international athletes." His father Rob said: "We have had discussions with Plymouth College, but they are at their initial stages." Tom Daley is a British diver boy who won a gold medal (men's 10m platform) at the European Championships in Eindhoven, March 2008, being 13-years-old. He participated in the Olympic Games being 14-years-old.
SeaWorld Orlando welcomed fourteen-year old British Olympic diver Tom Daley this week. Daley wowed guests yesterday in a special performance of his Olympic dives prior to SeaWorld's Blue Horizons show. Daley, who competed in Beijing this summer, was the youngest British Olympic competitor in 60 years. Following his diving performance, Daley had an up-close encounter with Shamu, the killer whale. He will spend the remainder of this week swimming with dolphins at Discovery Cove, testing the waterslides at Aquatica and challenging roller coasters at Busch Gardens in Tampa.

DEAN: Thomas Daley is Britain's diving prodigy and he's qualified for the Olympics. He's only thirteen years old and looks likely to be the youngest male to represent the country. Daley is assured a starting role in the Games this August by finishing seventh in the individual event of the Diving World Cup. As qualifying rested on his final dive Daley says he was very nervous. [Thomas Daley, British Diver]: "Going up there I was really nervous, going into the last dive. It was either make or break time really, I could either make it or I couldn't and it was, I was so nervous stood there for that dive it was the thing that I got four 10's on it, it's just absolutely phenomenal." His Olympic gold hopes are focused on the London 2012 Olympics when he believes he will be at the peak of his form.
Only just a teenager, Tom Daly is competing for a place in Britain's diving team for Beijing.
