Start-to-finish clips of the entire AiC setlist. Great, show, lots of fun. Be sure to check back for complete song uploads. Sorry for any shaky camera, I did my best given the fact that it was a bit hectic where I was standing. It was taken with a Sony Cyber-Shot digicam so also not the greatest quality. A blog of the evening from 'Baldy', who rolls with the band... 'Good Lord, someone get Salem a cold shower and a straightjacket. 30 seconds into the first song and we've got a fistfight going down in front. One or two songs in and we've got a wheelchair coming up over the top of the crowd into the pit. A moment later, its occupant came over. (I know that was you Karen. I hope you're okay.) With the exception of a couple of slower songs, we had a nonstop parade of crowd surfers from start to finish. I'm still trying to figure out the guy who came shooting over the top into the pit with a huge grin on his face, stopped and turned around on his way back out in the crowd and flipped Jerry off for a good 3 or 4 seconds, then came flying back over 10 minutes later. It just seemed a little weird to me. Kind of like saying, "You guys are awesome, and I'm having a great time, but please go *#%! yourself." Interesting. And when the mosh pits broke out it was like a giant Oregon-sized testosterone tornado blowing through the middle of the venue. Basically Salem was just nuts, and it didn't go unnoticed by the band. There were times when I thought we were about one guitar solo away ...
The required monthly test (RMT) at 12:17 AM. The second one startled me.
Weather radio was being weird so I setup my Video Camera. Well then this happened. "The tornado will be near Tigard and Beaverton"

About 15 miles away from our home in the Willamette Valley in Oregon, a summer tornado pelted the east valley area. The storms residual dumped water and wind on us. It came up quickly, blew very hard, then went away as fast as it came.
Flying from Southern Oregon to Northern California in a Titan Tornado II. I challenge you to make a better video. Let's get it on... haha
Here is a video featuring a Tornado Warned Supercell that we chased for over 4 hours on June 7th. We traveled through Kansas, Nebraska, and Missouri to catch up with this beautiful storm. The Supercell produced hail larger than baseball size at times as we drove through the city of Oregon, Missouri. It came close to producing a Tornado but failed to do so...otherwise it contained numerous rotating wall clouds and frequent lightning. During the evening hours, we found ourselves being hit by hail and caught in very strong RFD (rear flank downdraft) winds as the mesocyclone passed north of us.
Video starts just after some extreme verticals and ends just after engine dies. Awfully quiet up there... Flying over Southern Oregon 9/16/09

Here's what I was able to capture of a Tornado Warning that popped up on me by surprise as a big round of thunderstorms moved over the Pittsburgh area on June 17, 2009. Comcast broadcasts this on addressable converter boxes and on Channel 21 on standard cable. (Any complaints about missing the tones will be deleted. I caught this late and had to boot up the DVR in time).
Man from Oregon moves to Aurora, Colorado with little knowledge of the danger of tornadoes. He remains outside taking photos instead of heading to his basement, and winds up knocked unconscious with three broken bones in his neck. This tornado was officially rated an F1, but was likely a high F0 when it passed this man's house.
June 7, 2009. Started the Day in NE Kansas. We stayed with this supercell for most of it infancy but were lured into the NW storms which we later dropped before we even got to it and head east to this monster which dropped grapefruit size hail Near Oregon, MO. This cell would cycle over and over. It did produce a funnel over Oregon. It produced another occluded funnel somewhere near Oregon. It then went on to produce a possible rain wrapped tornado near Weatherby, MO. The funnel is hard to make out on the video by the time i zoomed in close enough it was all but dissipated. All in all a great chase.
This video was captured in Southeast Nebraska and Northwest Missouri on the evening of June 7, 2009 where two beautiful supercells dropped hail to the size of softballs near Oregon, MO and one reported Tornado. I didn't see the Tornado as I was too busy driving through hail cores. I am astorm chaser based in Norman, OK but originally from Lansing, MI. On June 4 2009, a line of severe rotating thunderstorms developed in Western Oregon. These storms lasted over 3 hours producing downburst winds of 60-70 mph, 1" diameter hail, and even a brief tornado near Salem. A wind gust 22 miles east of Salem was estimated 80 mph. There were numerous unconfirmed tornado reports in several counties. Atmospheric conditions earlier in the afternoon prompted the Storm Prediction Center to issue a "Severe Thunderstorm Watch", and warnings followed soon after. The watch that was issued could have been a first to ever include the Portland Metro. An unstable atmosphere characterized by surface CAPE values of 1000 - 1500 J/kg. Warm and humid conditions combined, and the watch followed with severe development. Here is an image of that watch: i32.tinypic.com I took some pictures of the storm as it approached my area. Tornado warnings, Severe thunderstorm warnings, watches of all sorts, that was one wild afternoon. After several days of watching the storms explode in the distance, we finally got ours beginning around 4pm. There were several unconfirmed reports of tornadoes on the ground in multiple counties, reports of 1 inch sized hail, rainfall amounts of more than 3 inches per hour, winds in excess of 80 mph in some places, and much, much more! This video shows my experience. Unfortunately, my video doesn't accurately portray the awesomeness that was this storm...
on June, 4, 2009 the National weather service broke in on all channels to warn of a severe storm. It was! I filmed the storm for 3 hours. I captured 27 minutes and increased the speed 25 times, making the formation of a funnel cloud and general weather fury easy to see.
A fast moving thunderstorm blew through Western Oregon and Southwestern Washington. Up to 50000 households were without power, and there were several reports of funnel clouds. There was minor flooding, and dozens of downed trees. One of the strangest things about this storm, was that it stirred up so much pollen, that local emergency rooms were filled with people complaining about breathing problems. One local hospital had to set up a tent in the parking lot to handle the more than 100 people affected by the pollen. One report by a motorist driving through the Willamette Valley, said that the pollen was so thick, it was like driving in a snowstorm. The National Weather Service has not yet ruled whether there were any tornados associated with this storm, but they did say that they have never seen this type of thing in this area before. Several of the 32 wildfires are still burning; caused by the more than 24000 lightning strikes across the state.
A rare tornado warning in Marion County. A squal line came out of a blue sky and developed full intensity right over Salem. After eerie hollow winds of 50 mph and dust clouds a hundred feet high, the rain began, first as a few large droplets, then becoming a torrent of a cloudburst.
Punching the core of a rotating severe thunderstorm is a bad idea.
Tornado warning storm out of no where
Sunday May 3 2009 SLIDE SHOW of development and progression of a huge storm front which pushed north-east-ward over the small communities of Ontario Oregon, Payette & Fruitland Idaho. Some say it was a tornado funnel cloud that nearly touched down. You can be the judge. At any rate, these cloud formations were powerful! This slide show shows the storms progression as it moved over us northeastward. Photos were taken from the balcony looking south, southeast and southwest ward. What do you think - is it a tornado funnel cloud? Or is it not just a cool video slide show? What a photo opp! Lots of fun. The storm brought cold heavy winds, rain and hail which took all afternoon to melt. Also masses of downed leaves from area trees & shrubs literally littered the streets, driveways and yards!
So, this freak thunderstorm ripped through my neighborhood today (May 2, 2009), bringing thunder, lightning, large hail, and even a possible tornado. It was a storm the likes of which is so uncommon here in Western Oregon, I'm so happy I caught it on video!!! This is part 3, and shows the aftermath and the damage around my neighborhood. It also has some interviews by the Media, and an eye-witness account from one of my neighbors who actually saw the funnel pass over. He told me that it basically passed directly over my big tree - so, directly over me (and my camera!). Part 2 is by far the most exciting, which shows the storm passing overhead, but if you haven't watched it yet, you should also see Part 1, which shows the storm as it was approaching. The wall cloud is an amazing sight! Enjoy! :) .

A tornado touched down near the Eugene Airport at about 3:16 PM, and another touched down near Beavercreek 7 miles SE of Oregon City at about 8:00 PM. The reason why these weren't tornado warnings, is because the thunderstorms that spawned the tornadoes never reached severe levels.
