This is a quick trip through Ludlow. I didn't narrate, probably because I was still bashful. Sorry. Enjoy the tour. And to the young lady at the Chevron station, you were very courteous and helpful. Thank you!

Pero mi dieta ha comenzado y el próximo video lo haré cuando baje al menos 5 kilos) -------- Video of the trip that 11 of us made to the Canopy tour in Las Cañadas, a famous park south of Ensenada. The park also features pools, trails, ATV tracks, fishing lake and a lot more stuff... that we plan to see at some other time. Anyway, the zip lines and the bridges are amazing. A must if you come to this area. Enjoy the video! You see, Ensenada is more than just the downtown, fish tacos, the blowhole, the wine route, and the baja 1000... it has been over 2 years since I saw this city, "The Cinderella on the Pacific" for the first time... and I ...

OR - CAL RT 1, THE WING & THE WIMP - Beautiful and tortuous California Route 1 in Northern California may be the ultimate biker's highway with more hairpin turns than you can count. Riding a big 900 pound, blacked out, hopped up, loaded down Gold Wing nicknamed Darth, and talking to myself on a video blog, I bravely went where no one (at least me) has gone before. While several bicycles did pass me by, I did manage to keep the rubber side down. I still look back at this 7000+ mile trip from Jersey to the Pacific and back as my dream trip come true!

From my visit on 6/2/09 Lava Beds National Monument, located in Siskiyou and Modoc Counties, California, is the site of the largest concentration of lava tube caves in North America. It was established as a United States National Monument on November 21, 1925, occupying over 46000 acres. Lava Beds National Monument also includes Petroglyph Point, one of the largest panels of Native American rock art in the United States. The monument offers about ten trails through the high desert. Approximately 25 of the lava tube caves have been developed for public use with marked entrances and developed trails. The monument lies on the northeast flank of the Medicine Lake Volcano, the largest volcano (total area covered) in the Cascade Range. The region in and around the monument is unique because it lies on the junction of the Sierra-Klamath, Cascade, and Great Basin physiographic provinces. In addition, the monument is geologically outstanding because of its great variety of "textbook" volcanic formations; ie, lava tube caves, fumaroles, cinder cones, spatter cones, maars, and lava flows. en.wikipedia.org www.EarthScienceWorld.org The war between the US Army and the Modoc Indians took place here from 1872-1873. During the Modoc War of 1872-1873, the Modoc Indians used these tortuous lava flows to their advantage. Under the leadership of Captain Jack, the Modocs took refuge in "Captain Jack's Stronghold," a natural lava fortress. From this base a group of 53 fighting men and their ...
Psalms by the Lake. From my trip on June 2, 2009. Sorry for the jittery camera - it's VERY hard to hold it still when getting tight close-ups. Tule Lake is an intermittent lake covering an area of 13000 acres (53 km2), 5 mile (8.0 km) long and 3 miles (4.8 km) across, in northeastern Siskiyou County, California, along the border with Oregon. It is fed by the Lost River. Tule Lake was the crucible for Japanese American resistance to internment during World War II, where thousands of Japanese Americans met America's betrayal of their hopes and dreams with anger, defiance and rejection. Tule Lake was the largest and most controversial of the ten War Relocation Authority WRA camps used to carry out the governments system of exclusion and detention of persons of Japanese descent, mandated by Executive Order 9066. The Order, which eliminated the constitutional protections of due process and violated the Bill of Rights, was issued February 19, 1942 following Japans attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. Two-thirds of the 120000 persons of Japanese descent incarcerated in American concentration camps were American citizens, an act that culminated decades of anti-Japanese violence, discrimination and propaganda. www.TuleLake.org The lake is located 1.5 (2.4 km) southwest of the town of Tulelake and is part of the Tule Lake National Wildlife Refuge and the Klamath Project. The Tule Lake War Relocation Center, a Japanese American internment camp, is located to the east in ...

UP #844 again heads the Heritage Tour, this time through Plumas County, shortly before arrival in Portola.
Watch in HD! This came a rollin' through Tracy, CA last Tuesday 4/21/09 About the 844: No. 844 was the last steam locomotive built for Union Pacific Railroad and was delivered in 1944. A high-speed passenger engine, it pulled such widely known trains as the Overland Limited, Los Angeles Limited, Portland Rose and Challenger. When diesel-electric locomotives took over all passenger train duties, No. 844 was placed in freight service in Nebraska between 1957 and 1959. It was saved from being scrapped in 1960 and held for special service. No. 844 has run hundreds of thousands of miles for UP's Heritage program. It has made appearances at Expo '74 in Spokane, the 1981 opening of the California State Railroad Museum in Sacramento, the 1984 World's Fair in New Orleans and the 50th Anniversary Celebration of the Los Angeles Union Station in 1989. Known as Union Pacific's "Living Legend," No. 844 returned to service in 2005 after one of the most extensive steam locomotive overhauls in the United States since the 1950s. The work began in 2000 and affected its running gear, pumps, piping, valves and springs. Along with replacement of its firebox and extensive boiler work, the cab interior was refurbished. A Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) transmitter was installed on one of the rail cars that will travel with No. 844. The GPS system has been integrated with a map on UP's Web site. Web site visitors will be able to access route maps with varying amounts of detail. The GPS system ...
We got a tip there was a strange military installation in Indiana so we decided to check it out. Take US Route 50 West one mile past Butlerville IN and take a right at the caution light. You'll immediately pass between two signs that say "SOUTHEAST PURDUE AGRICULTURE CENTER." Keep going straight and you'll enter the Muscatatuck Urban Training Center (MUTC.) We didn't run into any security though it looks like a gate will be constructed at the entrance. There is nothing overtly secretive about this place as a fair amount about it is divulged on it's official website. www.mutc.in.ng.mil There is nothing strange about military training for urban combat since that is a fact of war. What is strange is that all of the architecture looks very American as if they are training for war with the American people. www.infowars.com What is MUTC? Located in South Central Indiana's Jennings County near Butlerville, Muscatatuck Urban Training Center (MUTC) is a secluded, self contained community, once home to the Muscatatuck State Developmental Center. The 1000 acre site was turned over to the Indiana National Guard in July of 2005 and since has been continually evolving into a full-immersion contemporary urban training environment. Those utilizing MUTC have access to a 180 acre reservoir and urban infrastructure consisting of 68 major buildings including a school, hospital, dormitories, light industrial structures, single family type dwellings, a dining facility and administrative ...
THE STALKING DISTANCE on CAPITAL CHAOS 2009 @ The Boardwalk ~ Orangevale, California~ 3/5/2009 also on the bill were DAMAGE OVER TIME, DOPE & AFTER THE FLESH www.myspace.com The Stalking Distance: Solid As A Rock - By Colin de Leon-Horton for FRINGS MAGAZINE ISSUE 19/SEPT 08 Theres a very solid and necessary place in this world for weepy introspective rock, but The Stalking Distance doesnt acknowledge it when they play live. We dont play slow songs, Jose, singer for the quartet said to me as I talked to them in their practice space. We like to keep the energy level going. Ive never played onstage, so I cant attest to how easy or difficult that is. But I can say that Ive seen my fair share of loud shows where the audience stands rock-still like an Egyptian statue, moving only in the direction of the bar. Loud is not synonymous with interesting. On the other hand, it sure helps the adrenaline rush if the music ravishes the ear drums. I got to see both sides when I walked into the Fire Escape last month while a skinny kid gargled lyrics about William Shermans march to Atlanta into his mike. Around him, his curtain haired band-mates cheerfully bashed their instruments in imitation of whatever death metal bands their little hearts adored at the moment causing echoes in the woefully empty venue. In front of the stage were their sole two fans, arms self-consciously crossed between half-hearted fist pumping. Hell can be a very close equivalent to seeing an opening act. Abandon ...

The Yosemite Mariposa Tourism Bureau, the Mariposa County Chamber of Commerce and numerous Mariposa merchants are preparing for what is sure to be a nice boon for Mariposa -- the arrival of the AMGEN (bike) Tour of California. The article below, released in July last year, provides details about the expanded 2009 tour. Stage 4 adds a route from Merced to Clovis via Mariposa. The path originally took riders directly from 140 onto 49S., essentially bypassing town. Steve Waldron, Caltrans Permit Engineer wasted no time recommending to AMGEN planners that the Tour should add a short loop through the picturesque town of Mariposa. Officials agreed. Now, the pro bicycle racers (including Lance Armstrong) will turn right onto 11th street and right onto Bullion past the Historic Courthouse to 3rd street and back to 49S. The route will continue on to Oakhurst and beyond. See details of the Stage 4 leg of the race and town routes. In total 1.6M people are expected to view the race. Mariposa provides obvious benefits as a viewing venue, among them a lack of congestion, beauty and services that aren't available along much of the route. Some 128 riders will arrive in Mariposa (town) around noon on Wednesday, Feb 18, 2009. In Mariposa, spectators will find a festive atmosphere with welcome signs, red, white and blue bunting (on loan from the Historic Wawona Hotel); the MCHS Grizzly Marching band will be performing on the corner of 7th and 140 in front of Martha's Boutique and the newly ...

We at VeloNews received a remarkable video, involving the climb up Tunitas Creek Road, a part of Stage 2 of the 2009 Amgen Tour of California. This amazing video was accompanied by this anonymous note: "Epic ride today for the peloton. If the weather is not enough tomorrows route goes up Tunitas Creek. That is PRIME sasquatch country. We were up there yesterday and made one of the rare sightings. The peloton better be ready tomorrow, because the sasquatch is VERY uncomfortable with the notion that others would arrogantly call themselves King of the Mountains."
Recorded April 19, 1998. The City of Monterey in Monterey County is located on Monterey Bay along the Pacific coast in Central California. As of 2005, the city population was 30641. This video begins along the beach in the city of Monterey and then continues on 17-Mile-Drive. 17 Mile Drive is one of the most scenic drives anywhere in the world. The route runs through Del Monte Forest and is seventeen miles of sea and sky, immaculate golf courses, and dream homes set graciously behind elegant gates. Here you will experience the magic of this legendary scenic tour thats home to The Lone Cypress, Seal and Bird Rocks, Fanshell Beach, Point Joe, and the colliding currents of The Restless Sea, as well as the natural habitat of the black cormorants, brown pelicans, California sea otters, harbor seals, and idle sea lions. Already considered cycling's most important and successful road race in the United States, the 2009 Amgen Tour of California will be expanded to cover more than 800 miles over nine days. Traveling almost the entire length of the state, the race will begin in Sacramento on February 14th, and end in San Diego County on the 22nd. The AMGEN Tour of California will bring the drama and excitement of a professional bicycle stage race to the California coast. The world's top professional teams will compete over an eight-day, 650-mile race on a route that includes the California redwoods, wine country and the Pacific Coast.

Round-trip self guided bicycle tour between Niagara Falls and Niagara-on-the-Lake. With over 150 kilometers (93 miles) of paved bicycle paths and numerous mountain bike trails, Niagara is probably the most popular bicycling destination in Canada. Best time for bicycling is Spring (everythings in-bloom) and Autumn (leaves are changing colours). Summer can get a little too hot and is always humid. The most popular section of the bicycle path runs north along the Niagara River from the Victoria Street / Niagara Parkway intersection (5 km/3.1mi north of the falls) to Niagara-on-the-Lake (at Lake Ontario). 25 kilometers (15 miles) one way. This is a paved bicycle path running parallel with the Niagara River. Along this route you will travel through the most scenic countryside in Niagara. The first 8 kilometers (5 miles) is moderate rolling hills. This part of the path is about 50 Meters (165 feet) above the river offering incredible views overlooking the Niagara River Gorge. Sites and points of interest include the Whirlpool, Niagara Glen, Niagara Parks Golf Course, Botanical Gardens, Butterfly Conservatory, Electric Power Generating Stations, Floral Clock, Queenston/Lewiston International Bridge and Queenston Heights Park/Brock's Monument. Queenston Heights is where you will encounter a nasty little hill dropping about 50 meters (165 ft) down to the village of Queenston which is at river level (as a point of interest, this is where "the falls" was 12500 years ago.
