(Mosaic Video Alert: February 25, 2011) Press TV reports on the events in Tunisia and Egypt as demonstrators continue to protest in both countries. In Tunisia, tens of thousands of people took to the streets of the capital calling for the resignation of Prime Minister Mohamed Ghannouchi, who took control after the fall of Zine el-Abidine Ben Ali last month. According to police, over 100000 people gathered, making it the biggest of several protests that have taken place against the transitional government in Tunisia. In Egypt, thousands of people gathered in Tahrir Square, stepping up pressure on the country's military rulers to meet their demands. Demonstrators urged the military to hand over power to a civilian government and remove all ministers of the previous regime. They say they will continue to protest every Friday until their demands are met.

★☭ KGB OFFICIAL REPORTS (INTERNATIONAL&IMPARTIAL) PARTISAN WORLD NEWS ★☭ Support for Egyptian Uprising in Baton Rouge Walk like an Egyptian Baton Rouge was host to its own Egyptian protest...on a much smaller scale, of course. On a very sunny day last week, a dozen people gathered themselves outside the Russell Long Federal Building downtown and produced flags and paper signs. One read, "Down with the US-Backed Mubarak Dictatorship!" Another: "It's Right to Rebel Against Reactionaries!" and, another, "Brick by Brick, We Will Watch Imperialism Fall!" They calmly waved to passing traffic, mostly holding their signs at their sides; two-finger "peace signs" seemed to evoke the most appreciation from passing motorists, but the group seemed pretty mellow, for all the angry magic-marker rhetoric. The gathering bore little resemblance to the raw passion and deep angst contained in images of the uprising that inspired them. They were mostly comprised of members of the Student Labor Action Project, an offshoot of the umbrella activist group United States Students Association that focuses on economic justice. "I'd like to see people in the Middle East rise up and find a way to achieve self-determination, and to establish popular forms of Government, [and] popular economic systems, that are run in the interest of the vast majority of the population," said Gregory Esteven, one of the protesters, "rather than in the interest of small oil elites or financial elites, or the elites in ...

Tunisia's interior ministry has ordered the suspension of the country's former ruling party, in the wake of a fresh round of protests that has left at least three people dead. Three weeks after the fall Tunisia's President Zine el Abidine Ben Ali, however, many opposition figures say they are still not being included in the political process. Al Jazeera's Nazanine Moshiri in Tunis has more.
Social media played in organising the uprising in Tunisia, and now, activists there are focusing their technical skills on helping anti-government protesters in Egypt. Tunisian hackers say they will attack website belonging to the Egyptian government in solidarity with the pro-democracy activists protesting there. Nazanine Moshir reports from Tunis.
Photos and videos from Tunisia and Egypt in January and February 2011 of protesters in Tunisia seeking Ben Ali ouster and Egyptian protesters seeking Mubarak resignation in central Cairo. Music from Asian Dub Foundation, "History of now" The Egyptian capital Cairo was the scene of violent chaos on Friday, when tens of thousands of anti-government protesters stoned and confronted police, who fired back with rubber bullets, tear gas and water cannons. It was a major escalation in what was already the biggest challenge to authoritarian President Hosni Mubarak's 30 year-rule. They are demanding Mubarak's ouster and venting their rage at years of government neglect of rampant poverty, unemployment and rising food prices.
This is the story of an idea whose time has come. An idea that began in Tunisia, and is now spreading through the Arab world like wildfire: democracy. Please help share this important, inspiring story with the people you know - we are witnessing history! Egypt: "After decades of autocratic rule, state propaganda, institutionalized government corruption, police brutality, and suppression of basic freedoms, frustrated Egyptians are taking to the streets seeking change and demanding democracy, dignity, and civic reforms. "The uprising was organized and carried out by ordinary Egyptians from every walk of life as a non-partisan, non-ideological, peaceful push for reform. Virtually every segment of Egyptian life was represented: young and old, professionals and laborers, men and women, religious and secular, Muslim and Christian." - www.ahmedrehab.com

After Friday prayer, hundreds of Turkish demonstrators voiced their support and solidarity for popular protests that have swept a number of regional countries in the wake of the Tunisian Revolution. Mass rallies have been staged in Egypt and Yemen against what the protesters call corrupt government policies, and especially in the case of Egypt, against rampant poverty, unemployment and oppression. Egyptian demonstrators and their supporters want President Hosni Mubarak to give up power. And what does Mubarak say? Many have come here to protest Mubarak's 30-year rule, and what they say is his continued support for Israel. The posters say it all, Israel's prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu's photo of a wanted sign. Those who attended the demonstration say their hearts and minds are with the people agitating in Arab nations for real change, something they also hope will usher in a new era of peace. www.presstv.com
