Tofurky Thanksgiving - Vegan, Vegetarian, Meatless What do vegans eat for Thanksgiving? What do vegetarians eat for Thanksgiving? How do you have Thanksgiving Dinner without Turkey? How to bake Tofurky? What does Tofurky taste like? We will try to answer your Meatless, Vegan, Vegetarian Thanksgiving questions together! Tofurky has become a Thanksgiving staple for my vegans and vegetarians, but I have never tasted it before. Ingredients you will need to buy in addition to your Tofurky: 2 Potatoes or Yams, quartered and peeled 2 Large carrots split down the middle and cut into 2 inch pieces 1 onion, quartered and peeled And for the Tofurky Baste: 3 tablespoons olive oil 1 tablespoon soy sauce 1 ½ teaspoon fresh or ground sage (optional) How to bake a Tofurky: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees (F). Prepare the vegetables. Peel and quarter the onion. Peel and chop the potatoes. If you are using adult carrots, slice them down the middle and chop them as well. Be sure not to slice the vegetables too small. You want them to be hardy enough to withstand a long baking time. Prepare the Tofurky Baste. It is simple. Just whisk together the olive oil, soy sauce, and ground sage. Remove the thawed Tofurky from the plastic. Scissors will make this easier. Place it is a bake safe pot that has a tight lid. Surround it with the vegetables and pour half of the baste on top. Bake with the lid on for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Return to pour the other half of the baste onto the Tofurky. Bake ...
EasyRecipesHQ.com - Thanksgiving Dinner is nearing as so is the Christmas Menu fast approaching, and we wanted to show you "How To Cook a Turkey" So now that we have completed the difficult tasks for your Thanksgiving or Christmas Turkey, the next thing that we want to do is to get the Turkey ready for the oven. Cooking a Turkey is not that difficult. When cooking the Turkey Allow 20 minutes per pound for 8-12 pound birds, 15 minutes per pound for 12-16 pound birds cooking at about 170 degrees centigrade in a standard domestic oven. Just remember to check the Turkey about every 40 minutes & baste the bird. Also remember to use your kitchen probe if you are unsure if the bird is cooked or not, another tip is to pierce the wing joint of the Turkey and test the juices that run out. If cooked the Turkey juices should run clear. So if you have any questions about How To Cook a Turkey just drop us a note. Now the butter that we use for the bird, should not be slapped on in huge amounts, just enough to create a thin film under the skin. Remember to use the fat that this creates to baste the bird about every 30 or 40 minutes during the cooking process. Again we hope that you enjoy the video and we welcome any constructive feedback.
EasyRecipesHQ.com - Thanksgiving Dinner is nearing as so is the Christmas Menu fast approaching, and we wanted to show you "How To Cook a Turkey" In the last of the How To Cook a Turkey for your Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner, we show you how to prepare the Turkey for the plate. We show you how to carve the Turkey and how to present it. We assume that you will have your Turkey gravy or what ever sauce you might like to use with the bird. As a different approach you can also serve a bread sauce with the Turkey as another side sauce. For restaurant service we ALWAYS cook the turkey just slightly under. The reasons for this are that when the turkey is being reheated for service, it does not over cook. So that when a customer is served their meal, the Turkey is cooked perfectly. The main point here is to learn how to carve the Turkey properly and how to present it on a plate for your guests. Also a HUGE part of carving the Turkey is to allow the bird to relax for at least 30 minutes after it has come out of the oven. The reason for this is to allow the flesh to relax down after being tightened up from the heat of the oven. If you allow the Turkey to relax, you will definitely notice a big difference in how tender the meat actually is. . Again we hope that you enjoy the video and we welcome any constructive feedback, and of course Happy Thanksgiving or Merry Christmas or whatever time of the year your cooking your Turkey for
How to roast a turkey for Thanksgiving. Butter-injected and stuffed with apples and herbs. It's easier than you think! Subscribe: youtube.com Check out how to make cornbread stuffing! www.youtube.com My website: hilahcooking.com Roasting a turkey isnt any harder than roasting a chicken, but it requires a little more planning. Here are my guidelines: DO get a turkey thats big enough to serve everyone! Figure one pound per guest, then add a pound or two for leftovers if you like. DO get a fresh turkey if possible. Turkeys labeled fresh are held under refrigeration at 26 degrees. While that is below the freezing point of water, its not cold enough to freeze the bird. Frozen turkeys are flash-frozen to -30 degrees then held at zero degrees. A frozen turkey may be drier than a fresh turkey, depending on how long its been frozen. And a frozen turkey will require up to 3 days in your refrigerator to thaw completely. For those reasons, I recommend sticking with a fresh turkey. DO bring your turkey to room temperature before roasting by leaving it on the counter for one hour before cooking. A turkey that is still icy on the inside when it goes in the oven will prove to be a disaster later on, with an overcooked breast and undercooked thighs. DO remember how much your turkey weighs. The cooking time depends on it! Estimate 12 minutes per pound. DO allow the turkey to rest for 30 minutes before carving. This lets the bird finish cooking in its own residual heat. It also allows the ...
These are fantastic and they have a lot of veggies in them. Found this recipe in a magazine 2 tsp vegetable oil 2 cups grated carrots 1 onion finely chopped 2 garlic cloves minced 1 lb extra lean ground turkey 2 eggs lightly beaten 1/2 cup chopped parsley 1/2 cup seasoned breadcrumbs 4 tbsp chili sauce 8 strips of bacon 1. In a large skillet heat oil over medium heat and add carrot and onion. Cook over medium heat for about 10 minutes until carrot is tender. Add garlic and cook another 2 minutes. Set aside to cool. 2. In a bowl combine turkey, egg, parley, breadcrumbs, chili sauce and the cooled onion/carrot mixture until just blended. Do not overwork or the mixture will become tough when cooked. Divide into 8 equal portions and shape into thick patties. Wrap a slice of raw bacon around the edge of each patty. 3. Place in a greased baking dish and bake at 375F for 45mins or until the internal temperature has reached 180F.
The Reuben has to be one of my all time favorites. It brings back great memories of my mom and I going shopping at Goldblatt's back in Chicago when I was a kid. It was a small department store. I remember going there to get Garanimals! Anyone remember those? During our shopping trips we'd almost always go down to the deli which was on the first floor and my mom would buy us a Reuben to split. So good! Perfect combination of sweetness and sourness and...cheesiness! Hope you guys enjoy this one and possibly try it out. I know Rich and I really enjoyed eating it! Pic at the end is of my mom and me at my Communion. She mad that white furry wrap I was wearing! :) rockybarragan.blogspot.com

In this video, Betty demonstrates how to make Oven Roast Turkey Legs. These turkey legs are salted, and then roasted in a roasting pan in the oven for slightly more than an hour. This is an easy and convenient way to have roast turkey without going to a lot of trouble. Also, the turkey legs provide more flavor than the white meat portion of turkey. Ingredients: 2 turkey legs, about 1 pound each (You may use more, if you like.) Salt, to taste Wash the turkey legs and dry them with paper toweling. Salt the turkey legs, to taste, working the salt in with your hands. Place the turkey legs in a roasting pan and cover it with a lid. Roast the turkey legs in a 350-degree oven for slightly over an hour. Start checking for doneness after about an hour. The turkey legs are done when a meat thermometer reads 180 degrees. Remove turkey legs from the roasting pan and place on a platter or cutting board for slicing. Slice the meat from the turkey legs carefully, since there are quite a few bone shards in addition to the main turkey leg bone. Serve the sliced turkey leg meat on a nice platter. You can make wonderful fat-free turkey gravy from the juices in the roasting pan. The recipe is available in bettyskitchen. I served these turkey legs with Tantalizing Herbed Rice and Green Beans with Toasted Almond Topping. I hope you like this meal! --Betty ♥
