www.ocregister.com "More than 2300 parents, teachers and students demonstrated against state school budget cuts Thursday afternoon, waving signs and urging cars to honk horns at different sites throughout Orange County." "The day's biggest event, at UC Irvine, drew an estimated 800 students, while 200 more gathered near Fullerton College and about 40 or so rallied and marched at Cal State Fullerton." "At its height, more than 800 protesters marched along Ring Road and blocked traffic at Campus Drive on Thursday, following a smaller march and rally. The event began about noon, but stretched past 4 pm after students left class to join the effort."
The moment has come, the walkout taking place on UC Irvine, this time outside of the main campus. People chant against privatization of the university, increasing university costs, racial discrimination against minorities, and war oversees. They march and gather to fight for their education against further increase in costs. This is actually one of my last footage of the protest but I upload this is first, I did not expect this protest will get this far...Their chants I remember includes "No Justice, No peace," "Say Cut Back, We say Fight Back," and more...
The Black Student Union joined the Muslim Student Union in protesting on the UC Irvine campus Tuesday. The groups were supporting the Irvine 11 --- the Muslim students arrested after Israeli Ambassador Michael Oren's speech last month
This film shows what happened on February 8 after students disrupted Ambassador Michael Oren's speech at UC Irvine. After the 11 students were removed from the room by police, approximately 75 students (who were cheering for the hecklers) all stood up and marched out of the room. Film shows a leader boasting that the group had succeeded in shutting down Michael Oren, and he invites everyone to all follow him to a "debriefing." The film also shows that Ambassador Oren actually was able to complete his speech after the disruptive students were escorted out of the room by police Learn more at www.standwithus.com Sign up for news alerts at: www.standwithus.com Stand Up for Free Speech, beginning with UC Irvine. Eleven Muslim students have been arrested for interrupting a speech by Israeli Ambassador Michael Orenlecture at University of California, Irvine. Ambassador Oren's speech to an audience of about 500 people was consistently interrupted by rude behavior, shouting, booing and protests throughout the night. UC Irvine spokesman Tom Vasich says nine Irvine students and two students from UC Riverside were arrested for disturbing a public event. All were cited and released. The Orange County Register stated that Oren stopped speaking for a time and politely asked for hospitality and tried to resume his speech, but the shouts and rude behavior continued. Political science professor Mark Petracca says he and the university were embarrassed by the behavior of the muslim students. Is this a precusor of what we are to expect from Muslims in this country? Do they really expect people to believe they are of the "religion of peace" when they behave this way? Will the students be kicked out of the school? I would bet not.
Zionist Ambassador Michael Oren - University of California Protest. 13th of febuary 2010 Twelve people were arrested during a raucous lecture at UC Irvine where Israeli Ambassador Michael Oren came to talk about US-Israel relations. Oren was interrupted 10 times while trying to give his speech before 500 people at the UCI Student Center, where there was heavy security. Oren took a 20 minute break after the fourth protest, asked for hospitality and resumed his speech, only to be interrupted again by young men yelling at him every few minutes. Many members of the audience also applauded Oren. After the 10th interruption, several dozens students who opposed Orens talk got up and walked out and staged a protest outside. The Israeli ambassador Michael Oren gets booed off stage by students of the University of California.

Titans Sweep Anteaters Anderson Takes Over Second Half, 72-61 Orane Chin logged his first double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds Wednesday night at UC Irvine. Against the Anteaters this year, Chin averaged 18.5 points and 9 rebounds. Feb. 10, 2010 Box Score Irvine, Calif. - Gerard Anderson scored 19 points and grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds Wednesday night to lead Cal State Fullerton to a 72-61 Big West Conference victory at UC Irvine. The Titans also got 15 points from Aaron Thompson and 14 points and 10 rebounds from Orane Chin to improve to 12-11, 6-5. UCI fell to 10-15, 3-8 despite 19 points by Eric Wise and 14 by Darren Moore. Anderson scored 17 of his points in the second half to help Fullerton gradually pull away after a slow start. The Titans didn't get a field goal for more thann six minutes and saw a 28-24 halftime lead turn into a 32-31 UCI advantage at 15:16. Anderson made his first of three second-half 3-point plays and put the Titans ahead for good at 34-32. Another Anderson 3-point play extended the advantage to 43-35 at 11:12 and the Titans soon opened a double-digit lead at 51-39 on a Thompson 3-pointer and UCI never got within a single digit again. the Titans, who were badly outrebounded in a loss on Saturday to UC Riverside, held a 42-29 advantage against the Anteaters, who managed only 5 offensive rebounds despite shooting only 41 percent. "It was a whole different game on the boards tonight," said CSF Coach Bob Burton. "We were concerned with ...
PLEASE VISIT www.irvine11.com for updates - THANK YOU On February 8th, Micheal Oren spoke at UCI. During his speech Oren was interrupted by 11 protesters who had every right to speak out. Now they are charged with disrupting the peace and being targeted by hostile university administrators. They have a lawyer on their side but the UCI students might face suspension or expulsion. Please help voice support by joining the group. Contact UCI Chancellor Michael Drake NOW to declare that it is unjust to arrest these students. Supporters of the arrests are contacting administration in large numbers, and your support is needed desperately! Ask to speak with Chancellor Drake or leave a message at: (949) 824 5011 and email him at: chancellor@uci.edu Ask to speak to the Dean of Students office, who are handling the case at: (949) 824-5181 and email them at: deanstu@uci.edu Here are some important points to bring up: · It was unjust to arrest students for simply having the courage to stand up and speak out against a man responsible for propagating the deaths of thousands of innocent people. · Civil disobedience has historically played an instrumental role in the civil rights movement in America that eventually ensured equality and human rights for all minorities. · Michael Oren is a representative of a state that is condemned by more UN Human Rights Council resolutions than all other countries in the world and he should not be honored at UC Irvine. · As concerned community members ...
From Democracy Now: Eleven people were arrested Monday evening at UC Irvine where Israeli Ambassador Michael Oren came to talk about US-Israel relations. Is that an Irvine professor threatening people with grades at the end of the video? According to the Orange County Register: hours earlier, ucis Muslim Student Union said in an email today that its members condemn and oppose the presence of Michael Oren, the ambassador of Israel to the United States, on our campus today. We resent that the Law School and the Political Science Department on our campus have agreed to cosponsor a public figure who represents a state that continues to break international and humanitarian law and is condemned by more UN Human Rights Council resolutions than all other countries in the world combined.

Fullerton evened its season's record at 10-10 and its Big West record at 4-4, snapping a 3-game conference losing streak. Michael Hunter scored 16 points, all in the second half, and Eric Wise had a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds for the Anteaters (9-13, 3-7) who have lost three in a row and six of their last seven. "We were fortunate tonight," said Fullerton Coach Bob Burton. "Hunter had a tough first half and we went into the game thinking we might not have our two starting big men (Johnson, shoulder injury in practice Friday; and Bryce Webster, food poisoning) but they played.
