Unemployment Extension HR 4213 is delayed till tuesday. Go to Opencongress.org to see who is voting no.
There's a reason why the politicians are ignoring the need for a tier 5 unemployment extension. It is not televised enough!!! Stop commenting on blogs and posts. Instead, contact the media and ask them why they haven't been reporting it on TV News Consistently. It's another Domino about to happen. Just like those with Prime mortgages thought Sub Prime wouldn't hurt them. Then their values Dropped because of the foreclosures and short sales! WAKE UP AMERICA and know that the l==ong term unemployed with no money to buy things, pay rent, mortgages, etc. will eventually hurt us ALL!

Congress is currently wrangling over a so-called "extenders" bill, which would simply extend the filing deadlines for the current tiers of unemployment coverage through the end of the year.

What happened to the 10 Billion in unemployment extensions? Congress in a night session last week trashed extended unemployment benefits. Supposedly as paybacks (R) for the healthcare bill. Verified by the office of Congressman Rob Andrews (D-NJ) this date. Even the media didn't know about it. We were told that they didn't feel as though these extensions were needed anymore! WTF? Still 10% unemployment. This is NOT an April Fools joke!.............................Well Fox 29, Philly was supposed to come to my sons home and talk about the issue. They NEVER showed or called. Im watching Fox News Philly, big story of the night? Protecting Frogs and their mating habits on the road/resivior in Philly. So much for what is important to the liberal media, and NO ONE has talked about Jim Bunting fiasco in the legislature (R-KY) in cutting off the unemployemt extensions. Supposedly next week Congress will address the issue and correct it and make it retro-active. Yeah right.
UNEMPLOYMENT EXTENSIONS, UNEMPLOYMENT TALK, THOUGHTS ON UNEMPLOYMENT
Congressman Geoff Davis Manages the Floor Debate on HR 4851 - Continuing Extension Act of 2010
UNEMPLOYMENT EXTENSIONS, UNEMPLOYMENT TALK, THOUGHTS ON UNEMPLOYMENT Washington abandoned millions of long term unemployed by failing to include any help in their "so called" unemployment extension in HR 4213 even though the Senate sold this in the media as "extending vital emergency benefits through the end of this year". Truth is they lied. ENOUGH of the little 6 week extensions for only a few states. The economy will not be fixed in 6 weeks. The long term unemployed in all 50 states need Congress to extend the weekly benefits through the end of 2010 and hopefully do it before their Spring Vacation. We cannot wait.
US Senator Jeff Bingaman focuses on two pieces of Senate business in this weeks update: unemployment insurance extension and health insurance reform. The Senate passed a 30-day, short-term extension of unemployment benefits and COBRA (optional extension of previously provided group health care benefits for workers who have lost jobs) and is now working on a long-term extension to help those impacted by unemployment in this difficult economy. Some Americans lost these benefits last Sunday because the Senate was unable to vote for passage, held up by a one-man-filibuster by the junior Republican Senator from Kentucky. Bingaman also highlights the push for health insurance reform after President Obamas Wednesday speech. The bill referenced by the president and being debated by the House (and all across the country) has already been passed by a 60-vote supermajority in the Senate. Bingaman outlines the next steps in health care reform.
Nancy Marshall, the acting director of Kent County DHS, joined the newsroom Tuesday to answer viewers' questions about the battle over the unemployment extension.
Sen. Franken's statement on unemployment insurance and COBRA benefits extension.
Nevada Senator Harry Reid today spoke on the floor of the US Senate about the need to urgently pass a short-term extension of unemployment insurance and COBRA benefits. Reids remarks were followed by a unanimous consent request to pass the extension and that request was again objected to by Sen. Bunning (R-KY). This objection marked the 10th time Republicans, led by Sen. Bunning, blocked the effort.
Since the US Senate was unable to pass a short-term unemployment benefit extension, the anxiety among those who count on the aid has risen. And there won't be any answer Monday, since the Senate is not in session.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid asked unanimous consent to proceed to a bill that would contain short-term extensions for unemployment benefits and COBRA, among other important provisions. Sen. Jim Bunning objected yet again.

Senator Jeff Bingaman talks about the highlights in the Senate this week, focusing mostly on debates to extend unemployment benefits, and the Natural Resource Adaptation Act. Bingaman strongly supports extending unemployment benefits for an additional 14 weeks, providing jobless individuals and families with a safety net to pay bills and mortgages with while looking for work. Bingaman, along with Senators Tom Udall (NM), Sheldon Whitehouse (RI), and Max Baucus (MT) introduced the Natural Resource Adaptation Act, which would help mitigate the effects of climate change on natural resources. This is especially important in New Mexico, where water is scarce. This measure would provide information, planning strategies, and tools to adapt to an even further limited supply of water as the climate changes.

Listen to Senator Jeff Bingaman's October 22, 2009 floor speech on unemployment extension. In it, he emphasizes that "unemployment is affecting everyone, regardless of political party or ideology." New Mexico's job market is dismal with little indication of improvement, and the situation is similar in other states across the country. Bingaman is in favor of extending unemployment benefits given the current economic circumstances the nation is facing.

Congressman Sander Levin (MI-12) speaking in support of HR 3548 to extend Unemployment Insurance an additional 13 weeks for people in states with unemployment rates above 8.5 percent.
