Just a brief history on Uncle Leo: Leo was born Leo Johanas Lehtonen on June 28, 1910 in the Town of New Ipswich New Hampshire the son of Mary Sophia (Kylmanen) Lehtonen and Kalli Victor Lehtonen Both imigrants from Finland. Leo was the 6th child born out of a total of 15 Children (8 Boys & 7 girls) 2 older Siblings, Oscar (1905) and Bertha (1909) died before Leo was born, leaving Leo, 2 older sisters (Lydia 1906 & Mary 1907), one older brother (William 1908) and soon to be 9 additional Brothers & Sisters. Arne 1911, Vivian 1912, Eino 1914, Walter 1916, Martha 1917, Aune 1918, Rachel 1919, Lillian 1921, & Henry 1923. Leo passed away on November 21, 2003 at the age of 93 the last remaining member of this Family. I have many fond memories of Uncle Leo growing up as a child. Uncle Leo was an amazing man and I am happy that my children had the opportunity to spend time with him. Uncle Leo was my Mother Rachel's older brother, Rachel was the 13th child born to the Lehtonen's on August 12, 1919 at the 100 acre Farm known as Whitimore Hill in New Ipswich New Hampshire. Leo like many others of his generation are the reason this country survived the depression and World War 2 . . . "Thank you Uncle Leo, for all that you have done".
