Unemployment Extensions has no followers yet. Be the first one to follow.
Although the quote's source is anonymous, the late, great Al McGuire, national championship coach for Marquette University, often stated, "The best defense is a good offense," and variations on that theme. In the current economic downturn being experienced in the United States and, by extension, around the world, undertaking Coach McGuire's strategy just might stave off total economic collapse, and could foster an economic turnaround. But, with most economic indicators barely on the ascendant or showing no improvement, as can be seen on FXStreet.com, it would seem that the economy is in a stall at best. One way to provide the economy with momentum, or at least keep the economy from slipping further into recession and/or depression, would be to pass HR4213, which not only extends a helping hand to state governments whose Medicaid programs are slipping into arrears, but also provides for unemployment benefits extensions until November 2010. The alternative is akin to a coaching staff doing absolutely nothing to motivate its team to win. At present, Congress has several bills going through the legislative process, all of which, if introduced, can be tracked on OpenCongress.org. Some haven't even been introduced yet, their sponsors simply waiting to see how the current standalones and the overarching American Jobs and Closing Tax Loopholes Act of 2010 (HR4213) will fair. Both HR4213 and HR5618 (Restoration of Emergency Unemployment Compensation Act of 2010), which is a ...

Hello baby's! what going on. Any this video is another assault on the GREATEST fuck up since Michael Richards used the N word towards some hecklers during one of his shows. YOU have to have BALL BALLS to tell 30 million people fuck you! starve, lose your house, etc... But you know what, he is FUCKING his own people, Kentuckians in the corn hole!
Let THE TRUTH be heard!
This is a video letter to Republican and Independent members of Congress who are blocking the Unemployment Extensions Bill. We hope to encourage people to write to their Senators and Members of the House to pressure them into supporting this bill that will help millions of unemployed Americans who cannot find jobs. If you are unemployed and without benefits, share your story at DearRepublicanCongress.blogspot.com.
Listen All Y'all, It's a Republican Sabotage! There's a Double-Dip Recession, aka Depression, headed our way: the GOP would rather score some mirage political points for the upcoming 2010 elections than save people from homelessness and persistent joblessness. They've refused to renew federal unemployment extensions for those who haven't been able to find work in the worst employment market since the 1940's. Never in American history has any Congress denied emergency unemployment extensions while the official jobless rate is above 7.6%; right now it's still at 9.3% and the jobs stimulus money is running out. Corporations are holding onto their cash, banks aren't lending the money we bailed them out with, and you and I will be stuck out on the street with our iPods pretty soon. So I thought I'd make a music video to go along with my unemployment. Inspired by Bob Cesca's article: www.huffingtonpost.com
On Monday, 1 July 2010, US Reps. Danny Davis, Dennis Kucinich and Tim Ryan, all Democrats, plea with members of the US House of Representatives to pass the unemployment extension bill that the Senate has failed to act upon. All are extremely passionate and deliver eloquent speeches.
Rep. André Carson on unemployment extensions
Congressman Mike Pence (R) 6th District, explains why he was in favor for unemployment extensions.
Extending unemployment benefits isn't a partisan issue and neither is our country's impending fiscal crisis. The Senate needs to extend these benefits by paying for them now, and then we can take the first step in the right direction toward fiscal responsibility and economic recovery. This is just to explain what is really going on in congress regarding the hold up on the deadline renewal for the Unemployment Extensions. A lot of bloggers, and YouTubers are confused because of the misinformation that is being spread online. I did my research largely by talking to people who work with the senators and reading the bills in Thomas.gov. BTW: If you like the video, please vote for it (it will help my bruised self-esteem recover from being without a job all this time)! By the way, all the resources for this video are royalty-free! No theivery was committed in the making of this video. (I would tell you my resource for free... yes, I said, "free", royalty-free music clips, but then I would have to kill you. Just joking.) I will tell you that a majority of the visuals were made from Microsoft clipart, and using PowerPoint, MS Paint, and Photoshop.
Monday evening, no word on the unemployment extensions. peoples fears and desperation are beginning to grow and become very tangible. look for increases in robbery, purse snatching, fuel siphoning, and muggings. with this warning, its time to start securing your valuables and firearms effectively to prevent them from being taken in a robbery. as we head into the hotters months of july and august, take special care when out. this will be the summer to stay close to home to prevent home invasion. if you have a BOB - start walking with it. if you are losing your benefits, stay strong... many of us are in the boat together. trade fiat currency for durable goods. network with other like minded individuals. buy a gun and ammunition.
Speaking up for the unemployed and for the poor.

The Drudge Report Extended unemployment benefits will temporarily expire for thousands of Americans on Monday because the Senate went on its spring recess without approving a one-month deadline extension.
UNEMPLOYMENT EXTENSIONS, UNEMPLOYMENT TALK, THOUGHTS ON UNEMPLOYMENT Washington abandoned millions of long term unemployed by failing to include any help in their "so called" unemployment extension in HR 4213 even though the Senate sold this in the media as "extending vital emergency benefits through the end of this year". Truth is they lied. ENOUGH of the little 6 week extensions for only a few states. The economy will not be fixed in 6 weeks. The long term unemployed in all 50 states need Congress to extend the weekly benefits through the end of 2010 and hopefully do it FAST before they take yet another vacation. We cannot wait.

Their late night back door paybacks finally hits the news thanks to my stepson and me. Even the media surpressed this news. Time to toss the whole bunch out and start from scratch! Republicans are no better than the Democrats. Thanks to my stepson Fox gets the news! FIRE ALL THE FU*KERS! REMEMBER IN NOVEMBER! Drill this Sarah Palin! All of them are media whores and backstabbers. HERE IS WHO STARED ALL THIS MESS: www.youtube.com
What happened to the 10 Billion in unemployment extensions? Congress in a night session last week trashed extended unemployment benefits. Supposedly as paybacks (R) for the healthcare bill. Verified by the office of Congressman Rob Andrews (D-NJ) this date. Even the media didn't know about it. We were told that they didn't feel as though these extensions were needed anymore! WTF? Still 10% unemployment. This is NOT an April Fools joke!.............................Well Fox 29, Philly was supposed to come to my sons home and talk about the issue. They NEVER showed or called. Im watching Fox News Philly, big story of the night? Protecting Frogs and their mating habits on the road/resivior in Philly. So much for what is important to the liberal media, and NO ONE has talked about Jim Bunting fiasco in the legislature (R-KY) in cutting off the unemployemt extensions. Supposedly next week Congress will address the issue and correct it and make it retro-active. Yeah right.
Another tier of unemployment benefits needs to be added to the existing unemployment extension. Unfortunately congress has forgotten about the long term unemployed.

Former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay that Sen. Jim Bunning was brave for blocking an extension in unemployment benefits. DeLay subscribes to the notion that people only try to find jobs when their benefits run out. There is an argument to be made that these extensions, the unemployment benefits keeps people from going and finding jobs. In fact there are some studies that have been done that show people stay on unemployment compensation and they dont look for a job until two or three weeks before they know the benefits are going to run out, DeLay told CNNs Candy Crowley Sunday. People are unemployed because they want to be? asked Crowley. Well, it is the truth. and people in the real world know it, said DeLay.
US Senator Jeff Bingaman focuses on two pieces of Senate business in this weeks update: unemployment insurance extension and health insurance reform. The Senate passed a 30-day, short-term extension of unemployment benefits and COBRA (optional extension of previously provided group health care benefits for workers who have lost jobs) and is now working on a long-term extension to help those impacted by unemployment in this difficult economy. Some Americans lost these benefits last Sunday because the Senate was unable to vote for passage, held up by a one-man-filibuster by the junior Republican Senator from Kentucky. Bingaman also highlights the push for health insurance reform after President Obamas Wednesday speech. The bill referenced by the president and being debated by the House (and all across the country) has already been passed by a 60-vote supermajority in the Senate. Bingaman outlines the next steps in health care reform.
Sen. Franken's statement on unemployment insurance and COBRA benefits extension.
Nevada Senator Harry Reid today spoke on the floor of the US Senate about the need to urgently pass a short-term extension of unemployment insurance and COBRA benefits. Reids remarks were followed by a unanimous consent request to pass the extension and that request was again objected to by Sen. Bunning (R-KY). This objection marked the 10th time Republicans, led by Sen. Bunning, blocked the effort.
Since the US Senate was unable to pass a short-term unemployment benefit extension, the anxiety among those who count on the aid has risen. And there won't be any answer Monday, since the Senate is not in session.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid asked unanimous consent to proceed to a bill that would contain short-term extensions for unemployment benefits and COBRA, among other important provisions. Sen. Jim Bunning objected yet again.
Leaders in the US Senate are looking to pass a 15- or 30-day extension of federal unemployment benefits this week.
Thousands of families are at risk of losing federal unemployment benefits if an extension from the federal government doesn't come through.
