James Marshall "Jimi" Hendrix (born Johnny Allen Hendrix; November 27, 1942 September 18, 1970) was an American guitarist, singer and songwriter. He is often considered to be the greatest electric guitarist in the history of rock music by other musicians and commentators in the industry, and one of the most important and influential musicians of his era across a range of genres. After initial success in Europe, he achieved fame in the United States following his 1967 performance at the Monterey Pop Festival. Later, Hendrix headlined the iconic 1969 Woodstock Festival and the 1970 Isle of Wight Festival. Hendrix often favored raw overdriven amplifiers with high gain and treble and helped develop the previously undesirable technique of guitar amplifier feedback.Hendrix was one of the musicians who popularized the wah-wah pedal in mainstream rock which he often used to deliver an exaggerated pitch in his solos, particularly with high bends and use of legato based on the pentatonic scale. He was influenced by blues artists such as BB King, Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, Albert King, and Elmore James, rhythm and blues and soul guitarists Curtis Mayfield, Steve Cropper, as well as by funk and some modern jazz. In 1966, Hendrix, who played and recorded with Little Richard's band from 1964 to 1965, said, "I want to do with my guitar what Little Richard does with his voice." As a record producer, Hendrix also broke new ground in using the recording studio as an extension of his ...

Lyrics: When I was younger I saw my daddy cry And cursed at the wind He broke his own heart And I watched As he tried to reassemble it And my momma swore that She would never let herself forget And that was the day I promised I'd never sing of love If it does not exist But darlin, You, are, the only exception You, are, the only exception You, are, the only exception You, are, the only exception Maybe I know, somewhere Deep in my soul That love never lasts And we've got to find other ways To make it alone Or keep a straight face And I've always lived like this Keeping a comfortable, distance And up until now I had sworn to myself that I'm content With loneliness Because none of it was ever worth the risk, but You, are, the only exception You, are, the only exception You, are, the only exception You, are, the only exception I've got a tight grip on reality But I can't Let go of what's in front of me here I know your leaving In the morning, when you wake up Leave me with some kind of proof it's not a dream Oh You, are, the only exception You, are, the only exception You, are, the only exception You, are, the only exception You, are, the only exception You, are, the only exception You, are, the only exception You, are, the only exception And I'm on my way to believing. Alabama is a Grammy Award-winning country music and southern rock band that originated in Fort Payne, Alabama, United States. In the late '60s, Randy Owen (lead vocals), and his cousin Teddy Gentry (bass guitar, background vocals) found they both enjoyed a common interest in music. Jeff Cook (guitar, fiddle, keyboards) soon joined the duo, and eventually Mark Herndon added his skills on drums. They started playing on a regular basis, and while still working their day jobs they started playing local establishments in the evenings. The group used their spare time to compose, practice, and play their style of harmony and music. In 1973, after Owen's graduation from Jacksonville State University, members of the group decided to give up their day jobs and weekend gigs. The group, formerly known as "Wildcountry", left Fort Payne and their Lookout Mountain to explore the possibilities of the club scene in surrounding coastal South Carolina. They were the most commercially successful country act in the 1980s and remain one of the bestselling American musical acts of all time. The band is often credited with bringing country music groups (as opposed to solo vocalists) into the mainstream, paving the way for the success of today's top country groups. Since its foundation in 1972, Alabama has included Owen, Cook and Gentry.Herndon was hired in 1979, and the band has had the same four members ever since. The band's blend of traditional country music and southern rock combined with ...

Followers (Siga-me)twitter.com Beatles were a rock band from Liverpool, England, with its roots in the late 1950s and formed in the 1960s, founded by Paul McCartney (bass, piano and vocals), John Lennon (guitar , piano and vocals), George Harrison (lead guitar and vocals) and Ringo Starr (drums and vocals). The "boys from Liverpool", or "Fab Four" (Fantastic Four) as they were called, gained fame, popularity and reputation to date additions to a musical band, and became the band's most successful and influential of century. Though initially the group's musical style has been influenced by rock and roll and the skiffle of the 1950s, the group explored genres during her career ranging from melodic rock to psychedelic rock. [A] The group led the "British Invasion" in the States in the early 1960s.Their clothes, their hairstyles and their growing social awareness exerted a strong influence on the youth of the time, created the term "Beatlemania" to describe the intense fanaticism shown by the band young. After the band broke up in 1970, the four members began a successful solo career.Considered the band's most successful in history, which its members are acclaimed by audiences and critics alike, with more than 1 billion records sold worldwide, and with 27 songs that reached number one in the charts of success only in the United States of America, [9] as well as they can occupy any given time the top five in 1964 - record numbers to the present day - the Beatles still ...
this song is so over-tiered, it does NOT belong in the nightmare tier lol, MAYBE the moderate tier, but MAYBE. Anyways :P FAQ : What kind of kick pedal do you use? - I use a gammon kick pedal from my acoustic drumset attached to a pad from my electronic drumset and use it as a trigger. You can PM me for more info about that if you want. Whats up with your pads? - They're portable pads taped on the rockband 1 drumset, i broke the plug for the red pad. What do you record with? - I record my ingame footage with a Dazzle DVC100, but trust me there are way better capture cards, gamebridge is one i recommend. And i record my external footage with an xbox live vision webcam (lol). Do you play real drums? - Yes, i have been for about 7 - 8 months now.
this was really easy, im aware of my screw up during the bridge but i have a bad wrist, it never healed right when i broke it and had it casted THEUSE OF ANY COPYRIGHTED MATERIAL IS USED UNDER THE GUIDELINES OF "FAIR USE" IN TITLE 17 § 107 OF THE UNITED STATES CODE. AS OF 9-1-09----UNITED AIRLINES WILL NOT ALLOW US TO CARRY OUR GUITARS ON THE PLANE ANYMORE-IT IS A RULE THAT THEY HAVE NOT ENFORCED UNTIL NOW- IT'S A DIRECT RESPONSE TO DAVE'S SONG- WAY TO GO DAVE--- WHY NOT BECOME THE RALPH NADER OF SONGWRITING This was 1st meant as a gentle rebuttal to a song by Dave Carroll-United Breaks Guitars ---I wanted to tweak the Canadian songwriter about flying a CF Martin guitar instead of a Taylor guitar, in a Canadian-built Calton Guitar Case. Now... after flying United today and learning of their new enforcement policy, I'd like to say how sad it is for all of us that they broke his guitar. Now we'll have to buy a seat or I guess the anvil case in the basement will be seeing some action again. (huge and heavy) United tries pretty hard to do the right thing....but I guess they've decided not to be held responsible for the baggage handlers breaking guitars
Evan LeFloch's inspiration for this song was from the recent discovery of airlines that hate musicians.(like United) Smallfish recommends to Dave Caroll and "Sons of Maxwell" that they try out Southwest Airlines. We are sure you will like their great treatment of musicians and instruments.

Elmore James - Dust My Broom. Due to his early death, just before the 1960s "blues boom", less is known about James than about other contemporaries such as Muddy Waters, BB King, or Howlin Wolf. There are very few known photos of James performing, and few descriptions of his performances, or of what he was like as a person. This lack of information is exacerbated by the silence of many people who had known him in the Chicago music scene. Although Elmore could be reportedly 'difficult' (reportedly drinking on the job, not paying out cash, abandoning musicians, double booking etc.) their 'conspiracy of silence' on this remarkable musician, writer and singer does them no credit. "Until he fell foul of the Chicago union", James and his band the Broomdusters were as popular in the Chicago clubs as Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf and BB King. James was born Elmore Brooks in the old Richland community in Holmes County, Mississippi. He was the illegitimate son of 15-year-old Leola Brooks, a field hand. His father was probably Joe Willie "Frost" James, who moved in with Leola, and so Elmore took James as his surname. His parents adopted an orphaned boy, Robert Holston, at some point. Elmore began making music at age 12 using a simple one-string instrument ('diddley bow' or 'jitterbug') strung up on a shack wall. As a teen he was playing at local dances under the names "Cleanhead" and "Joe Willie James." His first marriage was to Minnie Mae in or around 1942, whom he apparently never ...

The Rainmakers were a Kansas City, Missouri-based original rock band, fronted by Bob Walkenhorst, which had a small string of hits in the late 1980s and early 1990s in the United States and Europe, especially Norway. The Rainmakers were formed in 1983 as a three-piece bar band called 'Steve, Bob and Rich,' which "quickly became popular throughout the Midwest," according to one Amazon.com review.[1] They released one album, Balls, under this name. The addition of drummer Pat Tomek allowed Walkenhorst to switch to guitar and assume the role of frontman. The band changed their name to The Rainmakers when they were signed to Polygram by A&R man Peter Lubin. The band's self-titled 1986 debut album received positive reviews in the US entertainment media including Newsweek magazine, which dubbed it "the most auspicious debut album of the year," and reached #87 on the US Billboard album chart. The band made a fan of horror writer Stephen King, who quoted the band's lyrics in his novels The Tommyknockers and Gerald's Game.[2] The album, however, achieved its greatest commercial success overseas. In the United Kingdom, the single "Let My People Go-Go" broke into the Top 20 in the UK Singles Chart.[2][3] Their follow-up album, 1987's Tornado, peaked at #116 on the US chart.[4] The Rainmakers released one more studio album, 1989's The Good News and The Bad News, and one live album, 1990's Oslo-Wichita Live, which were successful in Europe. The Smashing Pumpkins are an American alternative rock band that formed in Chicago, Illinois in 1988. While the group has gone through several lineup changes, The Smashing Pumpkins consisted of Billy Corgan (vocals/guitar), James Iha (guitar/backing vocals), D'arcy Wretzky (bass guitar/backing vocals), and Jimmy Chamberlin (drums/percussion) for most of the band's recording career. Disavowing the punk rock roots shared by many of their alt-rock contemporaries, the Pumpkins have a diverse, densely layered, and guitar-heavy sound, containing elements of gothic rock, heavy metal, dream pop, psychedelic rock, arena rock, shoegazer-style production and, in later recordings, electronica. Frontman Billy Corgan is the group's primary songwriter—his grand musical ambitions and cathartic lyrics have shaped the band's albums and songs, which have been described as "anguished, bruised reports from Billy Corgan's nightmare-land". The Smashing Pumpkins broke into the musical mainstream with their second album, Siamese Dream (1993). It was a sold out affair at the prestigious Hugh's Room. It helped raise funds for a brand new EP, which is due out in less then a month! It is an exciting time, and a milestone for a man who lives and breathes for performing music! Borins is an expert backcountry guide who has trekked all over the world from Himalayan mountains to Ancient Incan trails. By lugging his guitar from place to place Dave gained first hand knowledge of the power of music as a unifying force. His songs explore the paradox that despite having unprecedented access to others through modern technology, it has grown more difficult to connect in genuine and significant ways. Performance is Dave Borins' version of living a fantasy. The weight of the world is lifted from his shoulders, and his personality is revealed, naked, unchecked and unapologetic. In addition to his original compositions, he also draws on an enormous and eclectic repertoire of great songs by other artists. Dave is known for dynamic live performances in venues of all shapes and sizes. A relative newcomer to the music world, Borins was nominated for "Best Live Acoustic Performer" and "Best Folk Artist" at the 2008 "Toronto Indie Music Awards." This song is the Mustaine's way of dispelling many of the stereotypes about the band and heavy metal fans in general. More specifically, that they are lazy, anti-government, and anti-religion, which Mustaine says are all untrue. The video for the title track became an MTV mainstay and the opening guitar lines could be heard on MTV News broadcasts. (Music, lyrics: Mustaine) What do you mean, "I don't believe in God"? I talk to him everyday. What do you mean, "I don't support your system"? I go to court when I have to What do you mean, "I can't get to work on time"? I got nothing better to do. And, what do you mean, "I don't pay my bills"? Why do you think I'm broke? Huh? If there's a new way, I'll be the first in line. But it better work this time. What do you mean, "I hurt your feelings"? I didn't know you had any feelings. What do you mean, "I ain't kind"? Just not your kind. What do you mean, "I couldn't be the President Of the United States of America"? Tell me something, it's still "We the people," right? If there's a new way I'll be the first in line But it better work this time Can you put a price on peace? Peace, Peace sells..., Peace, Peace sells..., Peace sells... but who's buying? Peace sells... but who's buying? Peace sells... but who's buying? Peace sells... but who's buying? No, peace sells...

Having learned the basics of the guitar from his cousin, John Wiggs, Arnold began playing in the early 1920s as a sideline while he worked as a farmhand in Buffalo, New York, and as a steelworker in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In 1929 he moved to Chicago and set up a bootlegging business, an activity he continued throughout Prohibition. In 1930 Arnold moved south briefly, and made his first recordings, "Rainy Night Blues" and "Paddlin' Madeline Blues", under the name Gitfiddle Jim for the Victor label in Memphis, Tennessee. He soon moved back to the bootlegging center of Chicago, though he was forced to make a living as a musician after the ratification of the Twenty-first Amendment to the United States Constitution ending Prohibition in 1933. Kansas Joe McCoy heard him and introduced him to Mayo Williams who was producing records for Decca[2]. From his first recording for Decca on 10 September 1934 until his last on 12 ...
After several years of local success in the Nottingham/Mansfield area as a band known since 1962 as The Jaybirds (its core was formed in late 1960 as Ivan Jay and the Jaycats), and later as Ivan Jay and the Jaymen, Ten Years After was founded by Alvin Lee and Leo Lyons. Ivan Jay sang lead vocals from late 1960 to 1962 and was joined by Ric Lee in August 1965, replacing original drummer Dave Quickmire, who had joined in 1962. In 1966 The Jaybirds moved to London, where Chick Churchill joined the group. That November the quartet signed a manager, Chris Wright, and decided to change their name to Blues Trip, Blues Yard (under which they played a show at the legendary Marquee Club supporting Bonzo Dog Band), and finally in November 1966, to Ten Years After ( in honour of Elvis Presley, an idol of Lee's whose momentous year in rock, 1956, helps to better explain the band's title). They became the first band of the soon-to-be Chrysalis Agency. They secured a residency at the Marquee, and received an invitation to play at the renowned Windsor Jazz Festival in 1967. That performance led to a contract with Deram, a subsidiary company of Decca -- the first band so signed without a hit single. In October, their 1967 self-titled debut album was released. In 1968, after touring Scandinavia and the United States, Ten Years After released their second album, live Undead, which brought their first classic, "I'm Going Home." This was followed in February 1969 by studio issue, Stonedhenge ...

Ifyou like this vid, check out my band's youtubechannel www.youtube.com ! ------ I personally think this is the best 30STM song there is and when I found a good tab for it I had downloaded earlier, I was just sure I had to cover it. So here it is, I hope you like it. I'm playing the lead and I think there's not too many mistakes and I'm quite happy with the outcome. It just got a bit sloppy on the timing towards the end I guess... Anyways, who am I to judge? Watch the movie and tell me what you think! =) EDIT: Oh, and this is my first cover with the new guitar since it broke, so you can hear the improved quality. Hope you guys dig it as much as I do =) NO INFRINGEMENT OF COPYRIGHT IS INTENDED THE USE OF ANY COPYRIGHTED MATERIAL IS USED UNDER THE GUIDELINES OF "FAIR USE" IN TITLE 17 § 107 OF THE UNITED STATES CODE. composition by gaby Gaby(bass) thomas(guitar) sappy song... quite fun... Title: Gone before dawn... LYRICS: verse1 No love, just tears, Just pain and fears, Disapointement broke my talents, Please destruct me or, I'll kill them all, I'll leave them all, PRE-CHORUS: Take a revenge on life, I'd forget all your lies, Get you out of my mind, I'm trying not to remind... Chorus1: That I'm useless and weak, That I'm helpless and sick Useless and weak, Helpless and so sick! Verse2: The guy that laughs all the time, Well he cried a whole night, Sreamed for help, But no one helped, He shouted out to God, He felt so alone, Diyin' chromosomes, I'll be gone before dawn... CHORUS2: I'll be gone before dawn, Cause your tears wont dry, I'll be gone before dawn, Cause my heart makes me cry, I'll be gone before dawn, I'll be gone before dawn...
