www.garbhsanskar.in Since ancient times it has been known that the child in the womb adopts impressions from its surroundings and the behaviour of its mother, and also starts learning things. This fact has now been confirmed by modern science. The well known story from Mahabharat of Abhimanyu tells us that he learned the art of entering Chakravyuha (a special war formation) while he was in the womb, when his mother Subhadra was listening to the technique told to her by Lord Shri Krishna. The health of the parents is directly responsible for the health of a child. Not only their physical health, but also their psychological and spiritual health affects the child in the womb. The surrounding environment, the food, the activities, in fact everything the mother is exposed to during the pregnancy directly affects the child. The ancient scriptures and Ayurveda prescribe a particular daily practice for the pregnant women. Along with the prescription of diet, Yoga, and routine body care, instructions are also given for reading material, subjects of discussion, and music and mantras to be listened to. The sound of the veena (Indian string instrument which is held by the Goddess Saraswati), flute and Samaveda mantras gives health to the pregnant woman and the child within. It is possible to give energy for the development of the body, mind and soul of the child in the womb by listening to special music. These album is based on traditional practices and prepared after much research ...

Prabha was born to Abasaheb and Indirabai Atre in Pune. As children, Prabha and her sister, Usha, were interested in music, but neither of them planned to pursue music as a career. When Prabha was eight, Indirabai was not keeping good health, and at a friend's suggestion that classical music lessons would help her feel better, she took a few lessons. Listening to those lessons inspired Prabha to learn classical music. Prabha learned classical music first from Pandit Sureshbabu Mane, and after his demise in 1952, from Smt. Hirabai Badodekar. Both Sureshbabu and Hirabai were children and disciples of Ustad Abdul Karim Khan. While studying under Hirabai, Prabha accompanied her on her musical concert tours in different parts of India. While studying music, Prabha finished college courses in science and law to receive degrees in both of those disciplines. She later also earned a Ph. D. in music. Her doctoral thesis was titled Sargam, and pertained to the use of sol-fa notes in Indian classical music. Prabha has authored several books in Marathi and English: Her first book in Marathi, Swaramayee, is a compilation of her essays and articles on music, which were published earlier in magazines and journals. This book received a Maharashtra State Government Award. Like Swaramayee, her second book, Suswaralee (1992), also received public acclaim. Both books were translated into Hindi by the Government of Madhya Pradesh. Prabha's next two books in Marathi, Swaranginee (1994) and ...

www.mid-day.com Univ dept comes up with unique idea to prevent theft of taps, pipes.A strange guardedness comes over students and faculty members on the University of Pune campus every time they want to use the washroom these days. A notice pasted above the door of a men's room started it all with the warning that users were under CCTV surveillance. The notice in Marathi says, "Saavdhan! He toilet closed circuit TV niyantranakhali aahe."The warning is a hoax, put up by Dr Manohar Jadhav, head of the Marathi Department, to keep theft under control. It seems to be working for now, and in more ways than originally intended -- people are keeping washrooms cleaner than before and even the genius of wall scrawlers seems to have dried up.
