The opening sequence to the 1970 British movie 'The Rise and Rise of Michael Rimmer', featuring the lovely Valerie Leon, who older viewers will remember as the girl in the Hai Karate commercials from the early 70s! An underrated movie IMHO. Starring Peter Cook with support by John Cleese and Graham Chapman (of Monty Python fame), Arthur Lowe and Ronnie Corbett.
Here are two lounge songs, chosen to illustrate the beauty of cult English actress Valerie Leon. Valerie Leon is regarded as something of a cult figure due to her roles in a number of high profile British film franchises, including the Carry On series. After leaving school, she became a trainee fashion buyer at Harrods, before playing truant one day to go to an audition which led to her becoming a chorus girl, and then going on tour with Barbra Streisand in Funny Girl. Leon appeared in several of the Carry On films and has been both an "official" and "unofficial" Bond girl (playing the "hotel receptionist" in The Spy Who Loved Me and the "Lady in Bahamas" in the non-canon Never Say Never Again). Other supporting appearances included Revenge of the Pink Panther, The Rise and Rise of Michael Rimmer (as the secretary "Tanya"), a hotel receptionist in The Italian Job, and a callgirl in No Sex Please, We're British, alongside fellow Carry On actress Margaret Nolan. The 1971 Hammer horror film Blood from the Mummy's Tomb offered Leon a rare lead role, as a reincarnated Egyptian queen. On television, Leon is probably best remembered for her part as a tall buxom woman driven wild by a small and puny man wearing Hai Karate aftershave, in a series of commercials for the product. She also appeared in The Saint, Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased), Up Pompeii!, The Avengers, Space: 1999, The Persuaders, and in The Goodies comedy episode "It Might as Well Be String". London: 24 April 2010 Flash Alert! Flash Alert! The imposing County Hall in the shadow of the London Eye was the venue for a FanFest for spy and sci-fi film fans with an emphasis on the Bond-film series. The building houses the London Film Museum so attendees could wander around there too. Inside the FanFest there were plenty of stars from the long line of 007 films available for paid signing and posing. I was fortunate to have a press pass today so a big thanks to PR for that. I got there early so could spend some time getting shots before the place filled up. Managed to get some good shots of many of the stars offering autographs and poses. It was a great opportunity for Bond fans to complete their collections all in one place. Nice gig. Hope it is back next year. 'Blood From The Mummy's Tomb' (1971) was a troubled film: Peter Cushing had to leave the production after a single day and director Seth Holt died on set. Here, chesty Valerie Leon tries to act dead but isn't wearing enough clothes to cover her heaving rib cage, then a jackal runs off with her severed hand. It's based on a story by Bram Stoker, pretty loosely I'd imagine.

It took a while again, but i'm here! =) I absolutely love Kings of Leon and have wanted to do a song of theirs for a while, but they are very Rock & Roll and I'm, er, not so much.....But i couldn't let it go, so I sang this song a couple off times and then listend to it to see how ridicoules I sounded and to my suprise I didn't sound Completely out of place :PI still sound nothing like them ofcourse, but i really enjoyed singing it :) Hope you like it and if you do maybe you'd like to: comment/rate/subscribe! x
