Giovanni Battista Tiepolo, also known as Gianbattista or Giambattista Tiepolo (March 5, 1696 - March 27, 1770) was a Venetian painter and printmaker. He was prolific and worked not only in the Veneto, but also in Germany and Spain, and is considered among the last "Grand manner" fresco painters from the Venetian republic.
Velatura is truly an amazing product. It has two seemingly different characteristics. One, the dark and fresh tones of its natural color, and the other, light and faded tones of yet, the same color. When diluted, it gives the substrate a "fresco fresco" look or even an antique one. Velatura is a resin paint and works extremely well with plasters and stucco. It is popular amongst sandstone, limestone, and other natural textured finishes. Velatura is designed for both interior and exterior, and is an overall flexible glaze with an unlimited amount of uses, varying depending on the methods used to apply it. A compatible interior/exterior glaze, Velatura is a reliable medium for faux finishing. It is a silicone/mineral based glaze, diluted by water, that reacts amazingly with aggregates and textures. Applicable by brush or other faux tools, Velatura or Encanto create delicate tones and transitions in a wide variety of saturation and opacity. Experimenting with dilution is the key to successful finishing with Velatura. Atova has recenlty re-thought it's faux finishing mentality. We've created 3 main categories for our glaze. Within these 3 categories, you'll find all your faux finishing needs. Mineral faux glazes, acrylic faux glazes, and designer faux paints make up these three groups. When searching for a solution for adding the finishing touches or for colorwashing texture, Atova clearly describes what glazes react best with various textures such as Venetian Plaster ...
Veneto Italy is Produced and presented by Alessandro Sorbello http://www.alessandrosorbello.com for New Realm Media http://www.newrealm.com.au Veneto or Venetia (Vèneto), is one of the 20 regions of Italy. Its population is about 4.8 million, and its capital is Venice. The region includes the eastern part of the Po Valley and, to the north, a part of the Dolomites. The extensive plain, with the Po delta, is rich in waters. It is a region which combines two different and unique aspects of the Italian nature: the lagoon zone (Venice) and the majestic peaks of the Dolomites of Cadore. Promoting http://www.accommodationitaly.com Cities: The regional capital is Venice. Other important cities are: Verona, Padua, Vicenza, Treviso, Rovigo, Belluno. Art: In the region numerous and important Roman traces can be found: the best known example is the Arena of Verona. In the area around Venice, Byzantine influences are visible (St. Mark and the Cathedral of Torcello); in the hinterland, away from the sea there are many outstanding examples of Romanesque and Gothic art. The Renaissance palaces are numerous and of great value. Museums: In Venice: the Academy Galleries house the major collections of Venetian painting from 1300 to 1700; the G. Franchetti Gallery houses important paintings, while Guggenheim collection exhibits international works of contemporary art. In the Palazzo Grassi, exhibitions of international interest are organized every year. In this beautiful city there are also: the Museum of the eighteenth century life in Venice with tapestries, attire, furniture and paintings; the National Gallery of Modern Art, the Oriental Museum and the Correr Museum, which is reserved to Renaissance masterpieces. In Verona the Civic Museum of Art, which is devoted to the great Verona painting, the Archaeologic Museum and the Museum of Frescoes can be visited. Vicenza offers: the Civic Museum (ethnology and archaeology) and the Pinacoteca. In Padua the famous Scrovegni Chapel, with Giottos frescoes, can be admired; the Civic Museum and the botanic garden, the oldest in Europe, can be admired. In Treviso there is the Museum of the Casa Trevigiana with modern furniture and sculptures. Rovigo has the Gallery of the Concordi (Venetian school from the fifteenth to the eighteenth century) and the Civic Museum of the Polesine Civilization. To be visited: The Venetian islands of Murano, Burano and Torcello; Chioggia; the canals of the Brenta and the Veneto villas. Visitors can admire the enchanting and unique lagoon and the majestic reddish spires of the Dolomites. Verona, with its Roman ruins and rather spurious Shakespeare connection is a lovely town to wander around. So too is the rather humbler Treviso, a quiet and prosperous town near Venice with picturesque canals of its own. Padua is an attractive and interesting town with a rich history, impressive architecture and art - particularly Giotto's frescoes - which is a must for the art historian. Venice and its lagoon offer unmissable sightseeing experiences, and once you're tired of crowded bridges and canals there are plenty of interesting excursions around the lagoon to quieter destinations such as the fishing port of Chioggia and the abandoned island of Torcello. The wealthy city-dwellers of the Veneto became obsessed with erecting elegant villas in the countryside, and employed the finest architects to design these rural palaces. Andrea Palladio was the most famous, and the Palladian villas of the region are, after the canals of Venice, one of the Veneto's most renowned images. The town of Vicenza is the place to visit to see more of his work, while a trip down the Brenta Canal passes his famous villa La Malcontenta, and scores of other summer homes of the Venetian aristocracy.
After a long and complicated restyling, finally, the city of Venice has the pleasure to present one of its most beautiful, ancient and historical Palace: the Loredan Ruzzini Priuli in campo Santa Maria Formosa. Located in one of the last non touristy part of the city, the Palace belonged to one of the most important families of the Venetian nobility. The Ruzzini family moves here in 1586 after a big fire that destroyed their house in San Giovanni Crisostomo, by Rialto. Campo Santa Maria Formosa began to be famous on the 31st of January 944 when pirates for Yugoslavia came to Venice and kidnapped a number of young girls that were going to get married in the church that now a days is still there. The locals took their ships, left Venice and followed the Narentani and after a big battle, won and had their women back. From that day, every year, Venetians gathered to celebrate their victory and many performances took place in the square. A famous painting that report the celebrations can be seen at the Querini Stampalia museum or you can look at a copy on the third floor of the Palazzo. At that time, in Venice, Palazzo Ruzzini used to hostel the second major private collection of coins, sculptures and paintings. Through the centuries all these jewels have been stolen, sold or lost but you can still look at two incredible frescoes from the Tiepolo school, both decorating the ceiling of the Royal Suite: il carro di Giunone and Zeffiro e Flora. An incredible room with frescos on the walls, balcony on the canal side and one balcony to the square, will be the perfect place for Galà Dinner or special events to celebrate. In order to give the venetian and the tourist the opportunity to see this special place, thanks to some friends, we will organize Operas and theatrical canvases, that will take place during typical venetian celebration as the Regata, Redentore or la Salute. The building has been closed for 20 years before it reopens in 2008 as a new 4 stars Hotel. 28 rooms all nicely appointed featuring a mix of contemporary and Venetian design. 9 Standard rooms, 11 De Luxe rooms, 6 Junior Suites, 1 Canal side Suite with balcony and 1 Royal Suite; all rooms are decorated with paintings that will recreate the atmosphere of la Serenissima, with venetian fabrics or original beams. This Hotel will allow you to live an unforgettable experience, making you feel like an XVII century noble, having all the comforts of the XXI century (internet connection from the room, Wi-Fi in the common areas and tea facilities in the Junior Suites and Suites). Located in a very central area, very close to Rialto and San Marcs square, easy to reach by private water taxi and near to the main waterbus stations, it is the perfect place to stay if you want to be in the city centre but away from the crowed. The reason why we have decided to run this small Hotel, is to make you feel like you are not staying in a Hotel but in your home away from home. A warm and quite atmosphere, our sofas and living rooms, everything has been made to offer you the opportunity to live a new, unique and non touristy experience. Our staff will be at your full disposal for any request and will be happy to help you with all kind of information and we will try to anticipate all your needs. We will give you assistance from the arrival to the departure for any single questionand do not hesitate to contact us if you will required our help also before leaving arriving to Venice.
Paolo Veronese (1528 April 19, 1588) was an Italian painter of the Renaissance in Venice, famous for paintings such as The Wedding at Cana and The Feast in the House of Levi. He adopted the name Paolo Cagliari or Paolo Caliari,[1] and became known as "Veronese" from his birthplace in Verona. Veronese, Titian, and Tintoretto constitute the triumvirate of pre-eminent Venetian painters of the late Renaissance (1500s). Veronese is known as a supreme colourist, and for his illusionistic decorations in both fresco and oil. His most famous works are elaborate narrative cycles, executed in a dramatic and colorful Mannerist style, full of majestic architectural settings and glittering pageantry. His large paintings of biblical feasts executed for the refectories of monasteries in Venice and Verona are especially notable. His brief testimony with the Inquisition is often quoted for its insight into contemporary painting technique. LUCIANO PAVAROTTI Ave Maria FRANZ SCHUBERT GIOVANNI TIEPOLO The Music Painting **************************** Giovanni Battista Tiepolo, also known as Gianbattista or Giambattista Tiepolo (March 5, 1696 - March 27, 1770) was a Venetian painter and printmaker, considered among the last "Grand Manner" fresco painters from the Venetian republic. While his painting is infused with the Venetian spirit, his luminosity is not seen in the previous masters; however, Tiepolo is considered the last "Olympian" painter of the Venetian Republic. Like Titian before him, Tiepolo was an international star, treasured by royalty far afield for his ability to depict glory in fresco.
