In 1996, Vanessa gets the Lena Horne award and a greeting from the Lady herself. It is a nice moment; and unique because I do not know of another instance where Horne publicly expressed (sincere) admiration for a young(er) female performer. Of course, Williams has the same hard-as-nails exterior as Miss Horne -- no tears, no apologies, no nervous breakdowns, no self-destructive drama and no Oprah-style personal confessions. In her career, Williams is strictly business, completely unflappable, poised, polished and controlled, exhibiting only the slightest twinge of bitterness. Tough on the outside, God only knows what on the inside -- just like Horne.

Professional women's tennis players whom have won a combined 12 Grand Slam titles. The Williams sisters have demonstrated an immense amount of charitable work off court. The "William's Sister's Tour" set out to raise money for the Ronald McDonald House charity which provides housing for families of seriously ill children. In addition, Serena started The Serena Williams Foundations which focuses on education, and helping underpriviledged children in Africa who cannot afford to go to school or college, to do so. In recognition of their leadership achievement, Venus & Serena Williams were honoured at the Doha 21st Century Leaders Awards ceremony and gala dinner held on the 30th October 2009.

PLEASE READ: Sailor Jamboree is a performing cosplay troupe and this clip is from Anime Expo 2000 masquerade competition. This particular Sailor Jamboree skit features an epic stylized battle between the evil Galaxia with her minions Tin Nynako and Iron Mouse, against the Sailor Senshi (Sailor Scouts). The performance was inspired by Solar Miracle battle in the Sailor Stars Musical (Sera Myu). This skit won "BEST PRESENTATION" at Anime Expo 2000.
