Mac OS X includes the Grab application to capture your entire screen or a small section. You can activate screen capture from any application by using one of several keyboard shortcuts. To capture the entire screen use Command+Shift+3, which captures the full screen and saves a PNG file to your desktop. Modifying your key combination slightly, Command+Shift+4 activates your cursor to make a screen capture of a smaller section of the screen. If key commands aren't your thing, you can open Grab from the Utilites folder located in your Applications folder. Adjust the Grab settings to take a screen capture to your specification. You can further enhance your screen captures with free utilities that allow you to customize Mac OS X screen capture settings.

In this video I run through the steps of running OSX on top of your windows PC via virtualization. Virtualization does not emulate hardware but uses the hardware in your pc to run the os. One of the advantages of this is that is that if you can get this running in virtualization then you can proceed to install osx as your main operating system with a good degree of confidence that it will work with your hardware. The other perk is that virtualization does not have the significant performance hit that you would see though emulation. How-To: Before you start you will want a PC with a CPU that supports SSE2, has at least 2GB of ram, and over 20GB of free hard drive space. 1st you need virtualization software. Fortunately oracle offers its VirtualBox virtualization software for free. You can find it at, VirtualBox.org. Download and install the appropriate version for your operating system. Next you need a patched copy of OS X that will run a non Macintosh machine. While I will not give you a direct link, try googling "iPC OSx86 10.5.6 torrent". Once you have a copy of a patched OS X image open virtualbox and select new. Type in OS X into the name field and click next. Now allot as much ram as possible to this virtual machine being sure to leave some for your host os. Do not give it less then 1GB. Now create new hard disk and select next. Next you have two options dynamic and fixed sized. Dynamic uses space as needed up to the virtual drive size. Fixed sized reserves the space ...

Equipment used: - Computer: MacBook Pro laptop with Windows installed - Monitor - 24" Asus: We had to replace the standard fluorescent backlight with very large tungsten fixtures to funnel in more light to capture the screen. In addition, we flipped the monitor 180 degrees to eliminate a shadow from the driver board and set the system preferences on the computer to rotate 180 degrees. No special software was used in this process. - Camera: Phantom v640 High Speed Camera at 1920 x 1080, films up to 2700 fps "Why does allrecipes.com in the potato gun sequence appear at once, and not the text first and images second? And why does it appear to render from bottom of the screen to the top?" Chrome sends the rendered page to the video card buffer all at once, which is why allrecipes.com appears at once, and not with the text first and images second. Chrome actually paints the page from top to bottom, but to eliminate a shadow from the driver board, we had to flip the monitor upside down and set the system preferences in Windows to rotate everything 180 degrees, resulting in the page appearing to render from bottom to top. On January 9, 2001, Steve Jobs gave one of his greatest Macworld keynote presentations. The main topics included the original version of Mac OS X, the original SuperDrive and the original widescreen PowerBook G4. But perhaps the most profound was the introduction of the "Digital Hub" concept in which the Mac would evolve into becoming the center of the digital lifestyle of the 21st century. It has been the subject of much discussion by Steve and his substitutes when talking about the Mac ever since. This definitely the beginning of something huge. iMovie had already been around since 1999 and Steve introduced the original versions of iTunes and iDVD at this keynote. Interesting to note that in the second part of this video Steve refers to iTunes as "iMusic" - perhaps a code name during production? It's amazing that as soon as Steve started on this topic everyone was spellbound and there was no applause from the audience for a good 11-12 minutes, quite possibly the longest gap between applauses in Stevenote history.
