Hey everyone, it's been a while since I posted something. I finally tried recording a new video of 'The Lesson' by Victor Wooten. Unlike the previous video of this song, I play it on my other bass instead. I think the warmer sound suits the song much better than the Modulus. I like experimenting while playing, so you'll hear some of that too, especially near the end. I hope you'll like it!

Music by Stevie Wonder Recorded at the Northridge Library on January 23, 2010. Victor Wooten undertook a four day "Library Tour" in Los Angeles. Three of the four stops were in the San Fernando Valley. He performed, spoke about his musical development and philosophy, answered questions and signed copies of his excellent book "The Music Lesson: A Spiritual Search for Growth through Music." www.amazon.com Victor demonstrates looping and how by playing the "wrong" notes musically, they cease being so wrong. Excellent lesson for all artists. During this mini tour Victor seemed to avoid the slapping and popping that he is widely associated with, instead he focused on melody, groove and outside notes. The event was sponsored by The Los Angeles Music Network. www.LAMN.com Video by Ben Schulz Requests to remove this video will be promptly obeyed.
Anthony discusses some very interesting musical theories. Be sure to watch the whole video for some enlightening information about music in general. Keep in mind, this is one of the finest (Correction:two of the finest bass players on the entire planet) and I was fortunate enough to be allowed the opportunity to shoot this video of one of thier clinics in Raleigh NC. These two guys really are class acts and fantasic musicians.
hEY tHis is me covering this brilliant song by Victor Wooten, I'd like to thank Joe aka Romans10 Verse9 because he introduced me to this song and taught me some of the techniques and parts with vivid deatail. It is still not perfect but I was really eager to post it and I like it, I hope you like it to and please leave me a comment! PD: when I recorded this Video, I was having a bit of problems with my bass (as you can tell near the middle) and it was right before the electronics got COMPLETALY fucked up! so I can't use it now. I had bought D'addario strings for it today to re-record it and try to make it better, of course it didn't work. Plus the strings sucked anyway then I put those D'addario on my musicman bass and it sounded worse, I tried to re do it with that one too but the tone doesn't fit at all with this song so I decided to post this, I'm still happy but kinda bummed too =S

Hey everyone, I started learning Victor Wooten's 'The Lesson', a song that I really like and I was inspired by the cover by Joe (Romans10Verse9). This video is a crappy practice video more or less, 'cause I'm still figuring out how to play the song, so there are mistakes in it :) Especially the middle part, I haven't really focused on that one yet. I'm learning this song from the videos here on Youtube where Wooten is playing it live. I've just started getting into Wooten's playing techniques, so I hope your ears won't hurt listening to this :) Merry X-mas and a happy new year to all of you!
Hey everybody! This is the drummer from Jazz band and I playing "The Lesson" live at the concert. We added a little gospel intro too, the Lesson kicks off right after that. PLEASE comment on it! Yall have been flakin on the comments lately! I'm saddened... :(
I try to cover The Lesson by Victor Wooten. It's really hard, though. Please give me comments and critics, enjoy and God Bless!!
Hey guys! This is my second take on this tune. Consider it the new and improved second attempt! I included another Vic song, "The Vision" as an intro. I tried to make the actual SONG a bit more like the album version and the jam/solo more like a live one. Soooo yes, there ya go. Thanks for views and any comments or feedback on this!

the lesson (victor wooten), a bit sloopy.. have fun
Hey guys! Wow it's a relief to finally post this. I started figuring this one out by watching Vic performing it and by ear from the album version probably 4 months ago and have been working on and off ever since. This something I'm very proud to be putting up, in fact it may be the most exciting upload for me. It's nowhere near perfect though so please note that this probably not the only version of this song I will put up. I plan on redoing it a few times in the future, though that won't be for a while. They will hopefully improv as time passes. Also please know that the audio through about 97 percent of this is very good. No crackling or anything but watch the annotations for a warning on when to turn your speakers DOWN. Everyone please leave a comment for me. I wouldn't usually request that but I would really appreciate feedback on this one. Thanks!

me playin' victor wooten's song, me and my bass guitar. I made this video by request from my friends at gitaris.com forum. Not the best i've played it. There are one or two points where I had a bit of a slip on but overall this video is good. I am using a Musicman Bongo Bass. That runs through a Boss GEB-7 Graphic equalizer pedal. Thanks for any positive feedback and simply for just taking the time to watch it. Hope you enjoy it and sorry for the sound. ;)
Slap Pop Thump Thwack Flamenco? Heres a little video I made in response to Victor Wooten's video, I realize he is a God compared to me but here's a variation on some stuff he does.
Here I show the technique I use most of the time. Ok fine i'll edit it out.
