The Vikings Band - Hey Jude The Vikings were a band from Jacksonville, Florida in the early 1960s. The members were brothers Bill Snow (tenor sax) & Ronnie Snow (alto sax), Larry Dregors (lead guitar), Billy Harden (rhythm guitar), Tommy House (bass guitar) and Claude "Butch" Trucks (drums). They released one 7" record titled "Rosemary/You're The One" in 1964, which featured guest vocalist & pianist Dana Burney on side B.After The Vikings disbanded, Dregors and Harden went on to join the Deep Six, and later Mouse & The Boys. Trucks went on to become one of the founding members and one half of the drumming duo of The Allman Brothers Band in 1969. I knew it could be done in 4 cuts. Sometimes one of the first two vikings is cut thin enough that it can be broken without a second cut on the boat. Most of the time if that happens, it becomes easier to get a good angle on the remaining one while cutting the block chain on the same cut.
Believe it or not, Vikings can scuba dive on this level. And the boat has a trap door in the bottom. At least that's the way it seems. It's a slow process, but the reward is 100 points.
A brief news segment telling about Appalachia's Ed "Stonega Stallion" Clark (#34), who played from 1966-1968 for the Bulldogs and set several school and state records as well as going on to become known as one of the greatest football players ever to come out of southwest Virginia. Clark signed with Purdue following high school but never made it through due to his grades, and later even tried at Appalachian State only to receive the same result. It is said that he also tried out for the Washington Redskins of the NFL at one point and was one of their final cuts. Clark was the uncle of brothers (and now-NFL players) Julius and Thomas Jones, who played for the Vikings of Powell Valley. Powell Valley's school, interestingly enough, is located just a few minutes down the road from Appalachia and the Bulldogs and Vikings have a strong rivalry between one another.
Gotta be quick like a rabbit with that second up-cut. It may take a few tries cause sometimes the vikings get stuck between the two chunks of ice.
