Michael Richman interviewed on WRC-TV-4, 11 pm news, Washington, DC
This is sample footage of the earliest surviving colour videotape recording which is the Dwight Eisenhower inaugural address to WRC-TV on 22nd May 1958. The first 15 minutes of this event was shot in B&W which you see the president arriving to the building and the news reporter giving details of the event, then about nearly 15 minutes in Robert Sarnoff hits the colour switch and on comes the colour. For the remaining 15 minutes Robert Sarnoff, Dwight Eisenhower and David Sarnoff speak about the station and the colour television technology while being recorded in living colour!!! The whole program is available for download in DVD quality from a user on Veoh right here www.veoh.com . In the sample I've included the B&W portion where the president arrives and the colour portion which Robert Sarnoff and Dwight Eisenhower speak. USA started broadcasting colour in late 1953 and colour TV sets were available to the public in 1954 at an expensive price. Colour videotaping began in USA in 1958 and this footage is the earliest known to exist and it has been successfully transferred to digital for preservation. It is totally awesome to know that some colour programs from the late 1950s have survived on colour videotape as they show to us younger generations how good colour television really was back in its earliest days!!! Those RCA TK-41 cameras gave brilliant pictures back in the day!!!

The Salvation Army Angel Tree Program kicks off on Black Friday, November 27, 2009. The Angel Tree program gives you the ability to help a child, or children, have a Merry Christmas. In 2008, over 14000 Angels - children 12 and younger - were helped through the generosity of people just like yourself. When you adopt an Angel from The Salvation Army's Angel Tree, you are giving a young girl or boy from the National Capital Area with what could be the only gift they'll open on Christmas Day. NBC4 WRC-TV Story: www.nbcwashington.com potomacnews Story: www2.insidenova.com Police have identified the bodies of two Forest Park High School students who were found dead in Triangle Monday night. Desiree M. Patrick, 17, of 3902 Oakdale Circle in Triangle, and Quirinius "Ryain" S. Williams, 18, of 5319 Daybreak Lane in Woodbridge, were found in a bedroom by Patrick's father around 5 pm Monday, after he returned home from work. According to Prince William County police, both students died of gunshot wounds. The investigation has revealed that the teens both agreed to commit suicide, police said. Investigators said they did not want to speculate on the circumstances surrounding the deaths, but said they do not believe anyone else was involved. "We're not looking for a murder suspect here and I don't want to say anything more than that," Prince William County Police Maj. Ray Colgan told reporters Tuesday morning. Due to Tuesday's statewide elections, Forest Park High School was closed for the day. However, a Prince William County Public Schools spokesman said the building was open for mourners, according to insidenova. There will also be grief counselors at the school on Wednesday, school officials said.

Earlier today I was interviewed by Chris Gordon, Reporter for WRC-TV (NBC Universal Affiliate) regarding the "taser" story that broke out a few days ago here in Manassas. Since I live on the same street (down a few houses) Chris wanted to know if I saw or, heard anything during the incident. I did comment on what I saw from the backyard of my house and also what I observed on the street. I specifically heard a male officer loudly command "Get down on the ground, Get down on the ground, Get down on the ground" and then heard the undeniable sound of the taser being applied. As I told Chris, it was my belief that the person, or persons the officers were speaking to were not complying with their request. I then shared with him additional details. Posted with Permission. A link to the WRC-TV story by Chris Gordon can be found here www.nbcwashington.com
