Book 5 - Interrogation 12 SAINT BRIDGET PATRON SAINT OF EUROPE PART IV Answer to the fourth question. "As to why I fled to Egypt, I answer: Before the commandment was transgressed, there was just one road to heaven, broad and bright. It was broad in the abundance of virtues and bright in divine wisdom and in the obedience of a good will. Once that will was changed, two roads came into being. One led to heaven, the other led away from it. Obedience led to heaven, disobedience led astray. And as the choice between good and evil lay in the human will, that is, to obey or not to obey, people sinned whenever they willed something other than what I wanted them to will. In order to save humankind, it was just and right that someone should come who was able to redeem them, someone who also was perfectly obedient and innocent, someone towards whom those who wished could show love and those who wished could show malice. However, it was not right for an angel to be sent to redeem humankind, because I, God, do not give my glory to others. Nor could any human person be found to appease me for his or her own sake, let alone for others. So I, God, the only Just One, came to make all just. My flight to Egypt revealed the frailty of my human nature and fulfilled a prophecy. I also set an example for those to come, because persecution should at times be avoided for God's greater glory in the future. My escape from my pursuers shows that my divine plan surpassed human plans, for it is not ...
During the huge snow storm which hit Washington, DC on February 6, a fantastic snowball fight got started at Dupont Circle! Spread initially via Twitter, HUGE numbers of people gathered for pure fun! Watch and enjoy, and start a snowball battle in your town! Dubbed "Snowmageddon" or "Snowpocalypse," the DC area and entire region have smashed all records for snow this season! And more snow is on the way. Isn't it great for people to get together to have fun like this? BBC used some of this footage and had me add some commentary; check it out: news.bbc.co.uk Now you know what to do next time it snows in your area!!!! Produced by Art Harman. Thought you'd enjoy this, and share it with your friends!
Washington DC has been hit with almost thirty inches of snow; the city has not been able to recover after two days. As a result, the government has been shut down, as well as most of the city. Government officials have said that it doesnt make sense for the city to invest in so much snow removal because this is so unusual.
Those hardest hit in what was worst snow storm to strike Washington DC in 30 years were the district's homeless. While most DC residents found warmth and comfort in their homes in the wake of "Snowmageddon", for Washington's six thousand homeless people the storm was a life-threatening situation. The US capital does have an emergency hypothermia hotline during winter months and volunteers are taking action to help, but finding enough shelters to accommodate the large number of homeless has proved challenging. Al Jazeera's Todd Baer reports from Washington DC. [February 8, 2010]

I decided, it was a great time to play with my video cam that I got during Christmas. I took this video when the weather man said we had about 23 inches of snow!! I think my neighborhood had about 33 inches total, by night fall. Snow ball fight anyone???!!
Video taken from approximately 1200 February 5, 2010 till 1800 February 6, 2010 in Alexandria, VA (5 miles south of Washington, DC). Interval: 1 second every 1 minute; 28:31 minutes captured. Timeline speed: video speed = 1000% original capture Music: "Killing Time" by Kevin macleod (incompetech.com) Licensed under Creative Commons (creativecommons.org I shot this with my Sony PDX-10 on interval. It was pointing out my window, and so during the night section it occasionally goes out of focus due to car headlights reflecting off the glass. The power also went out at 2300 and it ran on battery for nearly five hours. There is a one hour gap between when the battery finally died and when I was finally able to plug it in again the next morning at 0500.
A quick movie of photos and short video clips from the February 2010 mid-Atlantic snow storm, featuring my Boston Terrier, Rocky and my Jeep, Roxanne.
So much snow! The capital of the United States is being paralyzed by one of the heaviest snow blizzards in the history of Washington, DC, affecting all the Mid-Atlantic region. This is a video I recorded in my neighborhood, at Mount Rainier in the border of DC with PG county, MD. I was out there last night at 1:10 AM, this morning and this afternoon between 12:45 to 2:00 PM. Watch young neighbors trying to help with shoveling and make some extra money, while a group of immigrants got stranded when they tried to go to work. I gave them some hot cocoa. DC is freezing!
