She begins to question him but he tells her he doesn't want to talk about it; they continue going out but Elena wants to know the truth. An old man recognizes Stefan at the grill and after that Elena goes to the archives at the news center to find out what Stefan is hiding. She leaves with the knowledge that Stefan is a vampire and confronts him; although she has feelings for him she can't be with him because of all the pain he and Damon have brought to Mystic Falls.
