Assalamu 'Alaikum - {Peace Be Upon You} Water boarding, a form of torture or rather an "enhanced interrogation technique" was authorised by the Bush adminstration to be carried out by the CIA upon "Al-Qaeda Suspects" in Guantanamo. This "approved interrogation techinique" ie water-boarding involves strapping a person to an inclined board, with their feet raised && head lowered. The interrogators cover the face && bind the person's arms && legs preventing any movement. In some descriptions, the person is gagged, && some sort of cloth covers the nose && mouth; in others, the face is wrapped in cellophane. The interrogator then repeatedly pours water onto the person's face. Depending on the exact setup, the water may or may not actually get into the person's mouth && nose; but the physical experience of being underneath a wave of water seems to be secondary to the psychological experience. The person's mind believes they're drowning, && their gag reflex kicks in as if they were choking on all that water falling on their face. If this isn't a brutal inconsiderate form of torture then what is it? May Allah subhana wa ta'ala break free the shackles of all the innocent Muslim prisoners held in these prisons for no crime committed other than their eiman in La ilaha ill Allah Muhammadur Rasul Allah!! 'Ameen!

The last Amesty International PIF I will be uploading, until I can find the last one, anyone know what it is? Looks like it could be mistaken for an advert for Vodka or something but it's a PIF, telling you about the disturbing waterboarding technique, and I think the guy in this is not acting, but it's a bit hard to tell, unlike the stress position one, which you could see that the guy was in total agony, in fact it could be the same guy, they look alike and sound alike.I'm probably right. Amesty International like to go for realism, to be honest I don't know what poor sod would agree to have painful methods of torture performed on him, maybe he was a sadist, which would be in the favour of Amesty International, they would want as many sadists as they could get. I think they do get the point across with this one, gives a sense of emotional impact in one way or another, although I don't think it's as effective as Fire Kills or Drinking And Driving Wrecks Lives, but I think it works to the best of their ability, which I suppose is all they can do in the end. Physicians for Human Rights: Doctors Role in CIA Waterboarding "May Amount to Human Experimentation" A new report by Physicians for Human Rights has found that physicians and psychologists played a greater role than previously known in designing, implementing and legitimizing the Bush administrations torture program. The recently declassified CIA Inspector Generals Report detailed how medical professionals collected data on the reaction of prisoners to interrogation methods in order to help the CIA assess and refine the use of waterboarding and other techniques. The group says this may amount to human experimentation.

YOU can support a FULL investigation of torture at aclu.org Fox News in general and Bill O'Reilly in particular have been very supportive of the use of so-called enhanced interrogation techniques, including techniques like waterboarding which the United States has prosecuted as torture in the past, so it was no surprise this week when the release of a 2004 report from the CIA's office of inspector general did not stop "The O'Reilly Factor" from dishonestly spinning the revelation even though it showed the effectiveness of torture to be ambiguous at best as you can see in this video. You can see the August 24, 2009, segment from Fox News' "The O'Reilly Factor" from which I took 2 short clips for my video on YouTube, apparently uploaded by Jami Floyd's publicist, at www.youtube.com You can find the 2003 memo quoting an anonymous senior CIA officer that I show in this video at media.mcclatchydc.com You can find the 2004 review of "Counterterrorism, Detention, and Interrogation Activities" from the CIA's Office of the Inspector General that I showed in my video on the ACLU's website at aclu.org And, finally, as always, you can find DOZENS and DOZENS more examples of Fox News bias on my Fox News bias playlist on YouTube at www.youtube.com

Jesse Ventura with some truth about waterboarding,....... Waterboarding is a form of torture that consists of immobilizing the victim on his or her back with the head inclined downwards, and then pouring water over the face and into the breathing passages. By forced suffocation and inhalation of water, the subject experiences drowning and is caused to believe they are about to die.It is considered a form of torture by legal experts, politicians, war veterans, medical experts in the treatment of torture victims, intelligence officials, military judges, and human rights organizations. As early as the Spanish Inquisition it was used for interrogation purposes, to punish and intimidate, and to force confessions. In contrast to submerging the head face-forward in water, waterboarding precipitates an almost immediate gag reflex. The technique does not inevitably cause lasting physical damage. It can cause extreme pain, dry drowning, damage to lungs, brain damage from oxygen deprivation, other physical injuries including broken bones due to struggling against restraints, lasting psychological damage or, if uninterrupted, death.Adverse physical consequences can start manifesting months after the event; psychological effects can last for years. In 2007 it was reported that the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA)was using waterboarding on extrajudicial prisoners and that the United States Department of Justice had authorized the procedure,a revelation that sparked a worldwide political ...

From Rawstory.com: "Conservative radio hosts gets waterboarded, and lasts six seconds before saying its torture Chicago radio host Erich "Mancow" Muller decided he'd get himself waterboarded to prove the technique wasn't torture. It didn't turn out that way. "Mancow," in fact, lasted just six or seven seconds before crying foul. Apparently, the experience went pretty badly -- "Witnesses said Muller thrashed on the table, and even instantly threw the toy cow he was holding as his emergency tool to signify when he wanted the experiment to stop," according to NBC Chicago. "The average person can take this for 14 seconds," Marine Sergeant Clay South told his audience before he was waterboarded on air. "He's going to wiggle, he's going to scream, he's going to wish he never did this." Mancow was set on a 7-foot long table with his legs elevated and his feet tied. "I wanted to prove it wasn't torture," Mancow said. "They cut off our heads, we put water on their face...I got voted to do this but I really thought 'I'm going to laugh this off.' " The upshot? "It is way worse than I thought it would be, and that's no joke," Mancow told listeners. "It is such an odd feeling to have water poured down your nose with your head back...It was instantaneous...and I don't want to say this: absolutely torture." "Absolutely. I mean that's drowning," he added later. "It is the feeling of drowning." "If I knew it was gonna be this bad, I would not have done it," he said. The 42-year-old radio ...

Infowar Site: DProgram - dprogram.net 'Countering Propaganda' - A former FBI agent who interrogated suspected terrorists told a Senate panel Wednesday that no actionable intelligence was gained from enhanced interrogations such as waterboarding. I strongly believe that it is a mistake to use what has become known as enhanced interrogation techniques, said Ali Soufan who worked for the FBI from 1997 to 2005. These techniques, from an operational perspective, are slow, ineffective, unreliable, and harmed our efforts to defeat al Qaeda. Soufan said that intelligent interrogation techniques used by the FBI were in sharp contrast to the enhanced interrogation method that instead tries to subjugate the detainee into submission through humiliation and cruelty. The idea behind it is to force the detainee to see the interrogator as the master who controls his pain. Its merely an exercise in trying to force compliance rather than elicit cooperation. One major problem is that it is ineffective. Al Qaeda are trained to resist torture, he said. In contrast, when we interrogated using intelligent interrogation methods [on Abu Zubaydah] within the first hour we gained important actionable intelligence. No, you wouldn't submit to it if it were attaching electrodes to your testicles, that's torture." I wanted to know if waterboarding would truly count as torture. After doing research into accepted waterboarding techniques, I had myself willingly waterboarded by some friends. Although we do not think our procedure was as traumatic as those practiced in intelligence agencies, we believe it was enough to give me an honest taste of how it feels to be waterboarded. It was tolerable, seeing as it ended when I could not handle it anymore, but it still was painful. And yes - it did make me legitimately feel that I was drowning. I believe it is torture.
