Since 1941, the Food and Nutrition Board has determined the types and quantities of nutrients that are needed for healthy diets by reviewing scientific literature, considering how nutrients protect against disease, and interpreting data on consumption of nutrients. For each type of nutrient, the Board has established a Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA)-a daily intake goal for nearly all (98 percent) healthy individuals, and a "tolerable upper intake level" (UL)-the maximum amount of a nutrient that healthy individuals can take each day without risking adverse health effects. In some cases, the Board has decided there isn't enough evidence to determine the amount at which a particular nutrient is essential or harmful to health.
Teri Manolio, MD, Ph.D. Director, Office of Population Genomics, NHGRI. Genetics for Epidemiologists: Applications of Human Genomics to Population Sciences, was a short course for investigators and trainees in the field of epidemiology and related population-based sciences. It was conducted by the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) on May 13-14, 2008 at Northwestern University in Chicago. The goal of Genetics for Epidemiologists (GFE) was to familiarize epidemiologists and population-based researchers with recent developments in the theory and methods of human genetics that might be applied to the study of the distribution, natural history and etiology of diseases in populations. The course consisted of eight one-hour lectures and focused on the interface between genetics and epidemiology. Emphasis was on the application of modern human genome analysis methodologies to studies of human populations through the design, conduct, analysis, and interpretation of studies which effectively answer the epidemiologic question of interest. GFE is co-sponsored by the Office of Population Genomics, NHGRI, and the Department of Preventive Medicine at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine. These videocasts are provided as an educational tool for epidemiologic investigators interested in learning more about applying genomics to their work. More: www.genome.gov

If you have no interest in the pseudo-scientific, pseudo-philosophical ramblings of a naive and quite possibly delusional scaremonger who was probably just having a bad day, then be on your way with my blessing. If someone else had written this, I doubt I would read it to the end, or indeed at all. But I put it out there, nonetheless, for those who do wish to read it. So, still here, for the moment? Then let me proceed by repeating what I stated in the intro to the song: As a really proud new father, without a single regret at having become one, I would hate for the pro-contraception message of this song to be in any way interpreted as anti-baby, anti-family, or as being an indication of any regret on my part. On the contrary, it is because of my son's future, and any future grandchildren's future, that I have been looking more to the future, and thinking about what it could be like. It's the ultimate buddy movie. Forty years ago, on November 19, 1969, astronauts Pete Conrad and Alan Bean landed on the moon in one of the most important of the Apollo flights. This video shows them making a pinpoint landing on a treacherous lunar surface, finding rocks, and generally having a blast. The program features an interview with Pete Conrad, filmed a year before he died in a tragic motorcycle accident in 1999. Credit Space.com with editorial assistance.

CONTRAILS vs CHEMTRAILS It is important to distinguish between contrails and chemtrails. Contrails are streaks of condensed water vapor created in the air by jet airplanes at high altitudes. Contrails can exist in two forms: water droplet and ice crystal. Contrails typically become visible about a wingspans distance behind an aircraft flying at high altitude. The trail dissipates quite quickly, usually within a minute or so. Chemtrails, on the other hand, are visible directly behind an aircraft, with little or no gap between the aircraft ...

hemp and marijuana may look somewhat alike to an untrained eye, an easily trained eye can easily distinguish the difference. *Industrial hemp has a THC content of between 0.05 and 1%. Marijuana has a THC content of 3% to 20%. To receive a standard psychoactive dose would require a person to power-smoke 10-12 hemp cigarettes over an extremely short period of time. The large volume and high temperature of vapor, gas and smoke would be almost impossible for a person to withstand. *If hemp ...

Aside from the beneficial contents as previously mentioned, it also contains Chlorophyll, Chlorella Growth Factory, PPARs Agonists and Phycocyanin, in equal abundance. It is not only a complete food, but is considered as a healing food. We all know that our body is made up of cells. The cell is the structural and functional unit of all known living organisms. It is also known as the building block of life. It is the most basic unit of life. Damaged cells due to diseases and illnesses pose as grave threats to our overall health, and in some unfortunate cases, complete deterioration of the human anatomy which eventually leads to unthinkable consequences. Generally, it is with the kind of abuse we give our bodies that most people end up sick and gravely ill. We can just imagine the consistent abuse our bodies take based with the kind of daily living or lifestyle we maintain. Malnutrition which is a consequence of improper nutritional intake is very common. Ingestion of toxic and harmful substances due to lack of discipline and a lot of misinformation. These rapidly pave the way to damaged cells, which in some cases, take an eternity to revitalize or rebuild, depending on the kind of rejuvenation method. This is where CRYTOMONADALES (Crypto+) takes its place as the better option to an effective therapy process where no other alternative can perform. Unlike the other alternatives out in the market today that are being marketed as supplements and treatments of specific ailments, CRYPTO MONADALES is known to have a broader scope that heals and targets a vast range of disorders and illnesses. Just to name a few, one of the most common diseases which it has known to effectively alleviate and cure is diabetes. CRYPTOMONADALES works way deep into the totality of the human anatomy creating a balance within our system. It purifies the blood and has an anti-toxic effect from the abundant source of chlorophyll, 100 times more than the normal vegetables we ingest as part of our daily diet. It greatly manages our blood cholesterol levels and has anti-cancer properties. It also possesses an anti-ageing effect on people due to accelerated cell reproduction, which is the main key to full recovery from diseases. Because of the presence of CGF (chlorella growth factor), it provides a bountiful source of energy for cells. It then increases our resistance to bacteria, germs, viruses and chronic diseases which are caused by deficiencies in our system. It also has anti-viral, immunoregulation and anti-inflammation properties. With all its beneficial effects and its detailed information concerning other very positive consequences of consuming CRYPTOMONADALES (CRYPTO+), we would like to invite you to take a brief moment to view the website presented below. Title: Scientific and Systematic Management of IAQ for Building Service Professionals Speaker: Dr. Ken Wai Date: Nov 18, 2008 Subject: Joint Symposium 2008-Shaping our Future Environment the role of Building Services Professionals Script: This is a typical office layout with a (1+3) system. These instruments work for me around the clock, days and nights without rest. They dont eat or drink and they never ask for pay rise. You can extend the system to the entire floor. And, you can expand the system to cover the entire building. And the IAQ data are transmitted wirelessly directly to the building service computer. From the building service computer the data can be transmitted to a database centre. As individual data as IAQ profile and this database is what you need for scientific and systematic management of IAQ. And then you can make improvements based on facts and database. And then you take the engineering approach by hitting the nail on the head. Sadly some may say they dont have the arm and hammer to hit the nail. Let us take a case study. In this study we have a (1 + 4) IAQ Profiling System at 5 sampling points as shown in this drawing. The premises is located at a high level in a 50 storey office block. The study lasted for 4 full days, started on Thursday morning, ended on Monday, overlapping the weekend. These are the results. Again a total of half-million data have been taken over 4 days. Here is the (6P, 4D) IAQ Profile at SP1, SP2, SP3, SP4, and SP5. So! All ...

So! All the half-million data taken over the 4 days period are systematically displayed here as IAQ Profiles under the keen observation of the professional engineer. As a matter of fact, on the day of completion of survey, all these IAQ Profiles were made available for submission to the owner. Lets look at the Profiles individually. Here, I have the CO2 profiles super-imposed on each other in order to demonstrate the reproducibility of these profiles. You can see CO2 level rises quickly from 9:00 onward, and drops during lunch hours and drops again at the end of the office hours. Eventually it reaches the outdoor level of 400ppm at night and over the weekend. The air quality of this office is excellent at all time, but there is a chance of over-ventilation which is wasting both energy and money. Over-ventilation costs money. The temperature is well maintained at a comfortable level of 23 to 24C during the office hours. Temperature drops quickly at the beginning of a working day and rises quickly at the end. But it is rising too quickly for a huge office block of this size. Over-ventilation costs money. This RH of this office is well maintained at a comfortable level of 60 65% during office hours. The RH profile also indicates over-ventilation. All these 3 IAQ parameters have indicated over-ventilation. Improvement certainly can be made in efficiency for cost savings and reductions of CO2 emission. Furthermore, the high temperature and RH at nights and over the weekends definitely encourage growth of moulds and insects, particularly in the months June, July, August and September. These all contribute to SBS. The formaldehyde level is low during office hours. It is well maintained below the level for excellent IAQ Standard. The drop and rise of HCHO levels are responsive to the on and off of the A/C system. This is because HCHO is very soluble in water. It is washed away quickly by the wet coils of the air-conditioner. TVOC profile is of good IAQ standard. This level is common due to the presence of furniture and carpets. The two spikes here are due to someone peeling an orange nearby. The NO2 level is well maintained at good IAQ standard. NO2 usually comes from the outdoor. Some body may want to blame this on mainland China. Carbon monoxide is fully justified to be low because it is well diluted at this high level. Part 1 Introduction Part 2 What is IAQ Profile? Part 3 We need change ! Breathing more Xenon gas. Breathing Xenon: Xenon is the heaviest non-radioactive noble gas (5x density of air) and is used for ion thrusters, general anesthetic, and various types of lighting sources. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xenon Xenon's anesthetic effect is 1.5 times more potent than N2O. Please do not breath Xenon without proper medical supervision and supplemental oxygen. "The anesthetic effect of inert gas xenon (Xe) was discovered more than 50 years ago. The main causes limiting its clinical application are high price, low availability (in nature the gas is present in scarce amounts), and absence of preclinical trials sufficient for norm-setting documents and further solutions allowing clinical trials of Xe." http://www.expresshealthcaremgmt.com/20050515/criticare10.shtml "These are the heaviest of the inert gases, and have some peculiarities. Xenon is, amazingly, an anaesthetic, in spite of the fact that it is inert. This is not completely explained, but is supposed to be associated with the strange behavior of xenon and water. 46 water molecules can hydrogen-bond themselves into a complex molecule with icosahedral symmetry that forms eight "cages" of the right size to accommodate xenon atoms, stabilized by dispersion forces between the xenon and the water. This 8Xe•46H2O is called a clathrate, from the Greek for a cage. Eight methane molecules can take the place of eight xenon atoms, to form an ice-like methane hydrate that can block pipe lines even at temperatures well above 0°C. Possibly the xenon encourages the formation of such clathrates in the brain, and the other smaller cages that are formed can clathrate ions important in brain function. For more information on gas hydrates, see Hydrates. " http://mysite.du.edu/~jcalvert/phys/helium.htm#Xeno Thank you to Craig Benjamin for his assistance in filming and post production.
Video Axl Rose Chinese Democracy Live THIS WAS BANNED AND RESTRICTED ON YOUTUBE A FEW TIMES ALREADY ON ANOTHER CHANNEL. IF YOU DON'T LIKE WHAT YOU SEE, THEN DROP ME A MESSAGE AS TO WHY THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE, INSTEAD OF COMPLAINING TO YOUTUBE THAT THIS IS NOT APPROPRIATE CONTENT FOR EARTHLINGS. I'M AN AMERICAN, ON THE LONG WINDING UPHILL ROAD FOR TRUTH, LIBERTY, JUSTICE, AND THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS. THIS VIDEO IS A BUILDING BLOCK TOWARDS INTERCULTURAL UNDERSTANDING WHILE BYPASSING INFLEXIBLE DOGMATIC TENETS AND RACIST HYPOCRISY. DON'T HIDE BEHIND YOUR FAKE VEIL OF DEMOCRACY AND PERSIST IN THE UPHOLDING OF IDIOCRACY! TELL ME WHY THIS VIDEO SHOULD BE CENSORED! Thank you! While Guns N Roses Axl Rose Geffen Sebastian Bach and Best Buy work their Rick Astley off on Chinese Democracy song album promo & Dr Pepper to both dedicated & unwitting consumers, and while our President Barack Obama Sarah Palin John Mc Cain were fighting for the White House and the peoples trust, some young Chinese performing music artists have been living their daily rock and roll lives, playing, performing, developing, and recording. This video present only a facet of China's thriving music and art scene: Band #1: Yin Peng and Liu Lixin (Dimebag Darrell looking guy) from Inner Mongolia lead the way with their usual torrent of rad-rhythms and cut-throat vocals and message. Band #2: Fan Doudou, Liang Hui, and Qi Liang have been at it for a year and a half now, performing and touring across China, and has come a long way in developing the sound they want. Very recent lineup change, band is working out some kinks. Note that there were some technical issues with the on stage monitor speakers, where vocal mic couldn't be heard on stage. Band #3: Zhou Miao and Lai Jinrong have been performing and touring across the country for a few years now, and have a colorfully heavy repertoire that draws all kinds of heavy music fans. Note that they too had problems with not being able to monitor the on stage vocal mic sound, which was apparently the result of PA cabs and/or monitors being moved around a little before the show, resulting in mic-gain being turned too high and causing some feedback. There's also another band that performed that evening. A band of non-Chinese expatriates who are called "Nothingness". However, due to the 10 minute limit, I'll only present these three most defining bands of the Chinese rock scene that evening in midst of the summer Olympic heat. Richard C. Strohman, professor emeritus of molecular and cell biology at Berkeley, and an evolutionist, wrote in the March 1997 edition of Nature Biotechnology: "There is a striking lack of correspondence between genetic and evolutionary change. Neo-Darwinian theory predicts a steady, slow continuous, accumulation of mutations (microevolution) that produces a progressive change in morphology leading to new species, genera, and so on (macroevolution). But macroevolution now appears to be full of discontinuities (punctuated evolution), so we have a mismatch of some importance. That is, the fossil record shows mostly stasis, or lack of change, in a species for many millions of years; there is no evidence there for gradual change even though, in theory, there must be a gradual accumulation of mutations at the micro level." "We currently have no adequate explanation for stasis or for punctuated equlibrium in evolution, or for higher order regulation in cells." "We seem to lack any scientific basis with which to explain, for example, evolution." "Not necessarily so. It does suggest, however, that our evolutionary theory is incomplete." "The theory is in trouble because it insists on locating the driving force solely in random mutations." "It is becoming clear that sequence information in DNA, by itself, contains insufficient information for determing how gene products (proteins) interact to produce a mechanism of any kind. The reason is that the multicomponent complexes constructed from many proteins are themselves machines with rules of their own; rules not written in DNA." "The rules... of brain formation are not reducible to genetic maps and to the rules of genetic theory. Each higher level of organization has its own rules, and there is no continuous gradual transition from one level or hierarchy to the other." "We have been lulled into reasoning that if the gene theory works at one level--from DNA to protein--it must work at all higher levels as well. We have thus extended the theory of the gene to the realm of gene management. But gene management is an entirely different process, involving interactive cellular processes that display a complexity that may only be described as transcalculational, a mathematical term for mind boggling." "Understanding of complex function may in fact be impossible without recourse to influences outside of the genome.

Rather than order educators to censor student Internet access, which had been proposed, a little-noticed provision of recently passed broadband legislation simply requires school districts receiving e-Rate discounts to do what they're trained to do: teach -- in this case teach students about online safety and cyber-bullying. The creationists invariably speak of the eye in hushed tones.
