This is the evolution of my first commercially produced, recorded and released song, "So in Love". You know, some songwriters lock themselves in their home studios and forcibly extract songs with marathon sessions and plenty of caffeine. Others find a tranquil comforting place and let their creativity simply flow. While every songwriter seems to find that zone where the juices flow best, sometimes tunes just come out of nowhere, when they least expect it. Me? I have to place myself in the latter category. I have tried on many occasions to just sit down and write. But those usually end in failure. Most of my songs seem to occur when Im not even thinking about music. Its usually a simple hook that comes first, and then I add a lyric, even if it makes no sense, in hopes that I can find that melodic tone to set the piece. RFME.org This is a quick plug for the Cape Cod Marathon that I threw together just to get me in the spirit. Kind of depressing that it was 28 degrees and snowing one week before the CCM but hopefully the bad weather will end on Saturday and it will be Blue Skies for Sunday.
