More than four decades after founding an evangelical empire anchored by a soaring glass church, televangelist Robert Schuller and his wife, Arvella, resigned from the board of the Crystal Cathedral ministry. The weekend announcement is the latest turmoil at the church, which has seen an exodus of other Schuller family members from management and staff after declaring bankruptcy two years ago. Last month, the church's Orange County property was sold to the Roman Catholic Diocese of Orange County, in a $57.5 million deal.

YES, the crystal cathedral is still alive & persevering ! there's STILL a sunday service (x2) in the glass church (in English) as well as the Latino & Arabic services, among other activities. Yes, the church has been sold and will become a Catholic Cathedral in the near future, but the Crystal Cathedral lives on, & will continue to be a congregation somewhere in Orange County, even after they move out of the glass church
Holy, holy, holy

CREDIT TO CRYSTAL CATHEDRAL- YOUTUBE, please leave this on here as a memory of the church which is now apparently no more... (When I have time I'll cut it up into smaller individual clips...) Here is the DVD compilation made off TV a few years back of clips and music from several of the services of the Crystal Cathedral- but alas... It's now official- The Crystal Cathedral appears to have now met its demise- and the campus (if not the entire building with the Rufatti/Skinner pipe organ is now the property of the Catholic Diocese which the CC accepted a last-minute bid from the RC Archdiocese. The Crystal Cathedral is now Catholic- not Protestant. As uploaded on my previous channel, there were several selections from the Crystal Cathedral services I had uploaded. Uploaded here is now the entire DVD compilation which I made about three years ago. For the enjoyment of others and the memoirs of the Crystal Cathedral which was.

The famous Crystal Cathedral and 40 acre campus will soon become the property of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Orange County, California giving the diocese the new worship center and headquarters that they needed and longed for. Crystal Cathedral founder Robert H. Schuller said that both he and his wife Arvella supported the board's decision: "My wife and I, prior to Monday's hearing, had already decided to support the diocese's offer to purchase the Crystal Cathedral campus. Though we deeply respect Chapman University, the uncertainly regarding the future use of the campus for religious purposes was divergent to the call of both God and our denomination that we embraced 60 years ago." Rev. Sheila Schuller Coleman, the ministry's senior pastor responded to the new situation with as much hope as she could muster: "If it is God's will for us to move, we believe it will be where He needs us most," she said. "It does not mean that our ministry will be diminished. Crystal Cathedral church is not a building. A church is comprised of people who are dedicated to practicing through words and works, 'God loves you and so do we!'" answersforthefaith.com

11/14/11 OUTSIDE BANKRUPTCY COURT, CRYSTAL CATHEDRAL BIG DECISION..I'm taking a break at 11am,..no decision has yet been made ..iwas there for two hours this morning..hheard. from the attorney for Schuller & Milners, also a brief comment from the attorney for RA schuller, most of the talk has been analyzing the costs..there's a big chart up front, the courtoom is full..this may last all day & a decision (or "confirmation") isnot guaranteed today but I sense the judge would like to make a decision & one of the representatives noted that the "debtor" (cc) can't afford the administrative costs ...(think of the billed hours by the attorneys for all of this) ....I'm thinking the Catholic diocese may be the best bet as far as retaining the cathedral as a house of worship, because it does not sound like the CC will be able to make enough to "buy back" the cathedral anyways unless things pick up, so why not a Catholic church? it could work, if it is according to God's will, may it be !

On September 19,2011 my husband and I celebrated our 43rd wedding anniversary by going to see the beautiful Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, CA. The Cathedral was empty so I walked down the aisle and sang, acapella, in the magnificent building while my husband took a video. One of the Guide/Volunteers came in and said "you sing like an angel". There probably WAS one behind me that he heard, It was a spontaneous decision that became a blessing for all of us. The guide said he had been volunteering for 40 years. He asked my husband and myself to go with him and he took us to the top of the Prayer Tower where I had the priviledge of singing "The Lord's Prayer", what a thrill. (See another video of Virginia singing in the Crystal Cathedral)
Sept., 2011. The Crystal Cathedral is a glass church. The popular tele-evangelist program 'Hour of Power' is made here, by the Reverend Schuller. They have a popular Christmas show. This is located near Univ of Calif. Irvine Medical Center, where I do some volunteer teaching. It is only 5 minutes away.

Benny Hinn message & altar prayer at Crystal Cathedral
This remarkable three-part series was taught at the landmark Chrystal Cathedral in southern California. On this broadcast, Pastor Benny Hinn shares how God revealed Himself to a 20-year-old in Toronto: "In those early days when I read the Gospel of John, I finally got on my knees and asked the Holy Spirit to reveal the Word to me. Everything changed. It was as if I had a new pair of eyes as I read the Bible!" The Holy Spirit longs to be our Teacher, Comforter, Guide, Counselor, and—as Pastor Benny discovered—our prayer Partner!
As this powerful three-part series continues, Pastor Benny Hinn shares an experience that happened when he was 20 years old: "When I went to see Kathryn Kuhlman, I saw power! I saw miracles! I saw people healed!" What happened at that service was life-changing, eventually leading to a pursuit of God's presence that is chronicled in the international bestselling book, Good Morning, Holy Spirit. Call a friend to let them know about today's landmark series on This Is Your Day!
