The Easybeats - Good Times (The Easybeats were a rock and roll band from Australia. They formed in Sydney in late 1964 and split at the end of 1969. They are widely regarded as the greatest Australian pop band of the 1960s and were the first Australian rock and roll act to score an international pop hit with their classic 1966 single "Friday on My Mind" (the folk-pop group, The Seekers, had international hits in 1965). Their manager was former Sydney real estate agent, Mike Vaughan. The band's line-up exemplified the influence of post-war migration on Australian society. All five founding members were from families who had migrated to Australia from Europe: lead singer Stevie Wright and drummer Gordon "Snowy" Henry Fleet were from England; rhythm guitarist George Young was from Scotland; lead guitarist Harry Vanda and bassist Dick Diamonde were from The Netherlands).
This is a story of coal, communism, and the Australian prime minister who went to war against his own during the national miners' strike of 1949. Using rare archival footage and re-creations, this dramatised documentary shows how Labor Party leader Ben Chifley took on and defeated the growing forces of communism in Australia. The film examines the complex issues that the conflict raised and introduces the major players in the dispute. A former train driver from Bathurst, Chifley was a working-class hero, a Labor Party icon and man of the people. But his actions flew in the face of Labor values and tradition when he believed it was in the interests of post-war Australia. Chifley introduced draconian laws to prevent unions accessing funds to support the strike and sent in the army to replace striking minersโso defeating the Communist Party leadership that controlled the militant union. This is a fascinating era of Australian history rarely seen on screen. Featuring Tony Barry as Ben Chifley, Frankie J Holden as Arthur Calwell (Minister for Immigration) and Rhys Muldoon as Edgar Ross (Communist Party executive) along with a strong ensemble cast. The first Jews to settle in Singapore were of Bagdadi origin, mainly from India, who migrated to Singapore when Sir Stamford Raffles established Singapore as a trading post in 1819. A couple of decades after the Sultan in 1824 sold the 200-square-mile (520 km2) area to England, the Jewish community was large enough to build a synagogue seating 40 persons on what is still known as "Synagogue Street." The 1931 census records that the 832 Jews and larger number of Arab residents were the largest house property owners in the city. There were over 1,500 Jewish inhabitants by 1939. Many were interned by the Japanese during World War II, and a number subsequently emigrated to Australia, England, the United States, and Israel. As a result, the community numbered approximately 450 in 1968. In 2005, the number reached 300, but due to a large Ashkenazi immigration rate to Singapore in recent years, the population is now between 800 and 1000 and comprises mostly foreign Ashkenazi Jews.

Two different styles of Pad Thai have evolved: the version most often found in the streets of Thailand, which is relatively dry and light, and the version that seems dominant in many restaurants in the West, which is heavier and may be covered in red oil. Pad Thai ; The dish's name means "Thai-style stir-fried noodles", and for a dish to be so named in its own country suggests an origin that isn't Thai. Indeed, noodle cookery in most southeast Asian countries was introduced by the wave of immigrants from southern China that settled in the region in the 20th century. They brought with them rice noodles and their ways of cooking them. During the recession following World War II, the post-war government of Field Marshall Pibul, desperate in its efforts to revive the Thai economy, looked for ways to stem the massive tide of unemployment. Among the occupations the government aggressively promoted to give the populace a way to earn a living was the production of rice noodles and the operation of noodle shops. Detailed instructions on how to make the noodles and recipes were printed and distributed around the country. From these efforts, rice noodles became firmly rooted in the country, and have since become a widespread staple food.[2] Outside of Thailand, Pad Thai is one of the best-known Thai dishes, and is very popular in Thai restaurants in the United States and Australia Thank you Wikipedia
