Australian people are wondering why the prime minister of this country should be chosen by the union and the factional warlords rather than by the people themselves, and the Australian people have the same basic choice this week as last week
Why I will be voting Liberal Democrats at the upcoming general election. The First-past-the-post system is antiquated and only serves to keep the old parties in power, under current conditions the Liberal Democrats need twice as many votes as Labour to attain the same number of seats, thereby leaving millions of people under-represented. Reforms to the voting system (as well as reforms to Parliament) is a long-standing Liberal Democrat policy.
PLEASE HELP US SHARE THIS VIDEO. On March 16, 2010, Tea Partiers from around the country gathered (in disappointing numbers) in front of the Capitol building for their final protest against health care reform. Also in town, appropriately, was Barnum & Bailey's actual circus. The protestors voiced their usual conspiratorial concerns about healthcare reform: that it was a government takeover and more government, of course, equals less freedom; that it would euthanize seniors too expensive to treat; and that the bill would sink the nation into irrecoverable debt, despite its actually reducing the deficit by more than $100-billion over the next ten years. Averse to facts, no one interviewed was able to cite evidence for their false beliefs about the reform proposal, and instead suggested we seek the "truth" from Glenn Beck and Fox News. THE PROPOSAL The healthcare reform proposal being advanced in congress, while imperfect, would bring long overdue changes to a broken system. Far from being rushed, the proposals that make up this reform have been debated for years, and this congress has been working on a bill for many months. It's time for an up or down vote on reform. The proposal will expand healthcare access to over 30-million uninsured Americans, make healthcare more affordable for everyone, hold insurance companies more accountable, end discrimination against Americans with pre-existing conditions, and help stabilize our budget and economy by reducing the deficit by over ...
President Obama tells the crowd in St. Louis, MO that the time is now to pass health insurance reform and announces new plans to rein in waste and abuse in Medicare, Medicaid and other government health programs.
Anthony Weiner was on fire on the house floor today ! If you missed what a fire breathing liberal sounds like, you want to see this video of Weiner riping Republicans a new one . Basically Weiner was saying the Republicans are just another extension arm of the greedy insurance companies . This is so true . Just like Fox "news" is just another arm of the Republican party . People just don't understand what this reform is about . If you already have insurance, nothing will change for you .If you are on medicare, and want to stay on medicare, you want this reform to go through . If this reform isn't done, then medicare will be broke . These reforms will be a plus for everyone . Not a minus . It will save money, lives, and our US economy .
A better effort to improve the economic situation in Europe could have prevent the financial crisis in Greece, says Guy Verhofstadt, leader of the liberal ALDE group in the European Parliament.
AWESOME A complete demolition of unintelligent liberal talking points love this stuff Barack Obama's relatively short political career has been punctuated by important speeches. His 2004 Democratic Convention speech catapulted him from an obscure state senator to a presidential prospect. A 2007 speech to Iowa Democrats gave him the momentum to win that state's primary and the Democratic nomination, and his famous 2008 speech on race stopped weeks of controversy surrounding his former pastor, Jeremiah Wright. Each speech changed the national conversation and gave Obama footing to move forward. Wednesday night at 9 pm ET, 6 pm PST, he'll try to do that again. With his approval-rating numbers at or near an all-time low and his primary legislative goal of passing health care reform stalled in Congress, Barack Obama will speak directly to the American people Wednesday night in hopes of recapturing the popular momentum he carried into the White House just 12 months ago. Whether he's successful will likely depend on the answers to these five questions: 1. Can he reclaim the role of "changer in chief"? President Obama was elected by promising an angry American people "hope" and "change." He pledged to move past stale debates and partisan stereotypes to create common cause for a new era of transparency and virtue in Washington, free from the backroom deals and special-interest influence that dominate inside the Beltway. But after a year that included Obama's embrace of his predecessor's unpopular bank bailouts and the Democratic leaderships ugly public deal-making over health care reform, Americans are still angry. Last week, Massachusetts voters elected Republican Scott Brown to the Senate and effectively stopped Obama's legislative efforts by eliminating the Democrats' 60-vote supermajority in the Senate. Even the president admits that Brown won the seat by seizing the mantle of change—much as Obama himself had in 2008—by promising to fix a broken Washington. Now Obama must try to win back that role of the "changer in chief." Watch for him to keep pressing for stronger regulations on banks and ratchet up his opposition to the Supreme Court's dramatic decision to allow more corporate special-interest money into elections. 2. Will there be another "You lie!" moment? Crowd reaction is a key part of any presidential address to Congress. Who claps for what lines, who stands and sits, who sits with whom—it's all a part of the theater of politics. Last year, though, South Carolina Republican Joe Wilson infamously took it to a new level by interrupting Obamas speech to Congress on health care with a shout of "You lie!" Wilson was widely criticized for the breach of decorum and forced to apologize after days of headlines. Will anyone try to top his performance? Good sense and conventional wisdom would certainly suggest "no," but consider this: After getting beat up by the national media, conservatives rallied around Joe Wilson and flooded his re-election campaign coffers with over a million dollars in just a few days. Money is tight these days, and it's an election year. You never know! 3. What will he say about health care? Scott Brown's election didn't just usurp Obama's role as "changer in chief"—it also threw a massive legislative roadblock in front of his attempts to reform the health care system. Both the Senate and the House have passed a reform bill, but before Obama can sign it into law Democratic leaders must work out the differences between the two

OVER ONE HUNDREDmore examples of Fox News Bias at www.youtube.com Fox News coverage of the health reform debate has been pretty bad, as I've shown in multiple videos, and last week was no different when a supposed straight news story and interview of Republican Senator Judd Gregg by Fox News anchor Bill Hemmer on the program "America's Newsroom" examined the cost of health reform, mentioning the deficit and the debt several times, without ever mentioning the over $1 TRILLION in deficit reduction in the Senate bill as I show in this video. The clip of President Barack Obama's December 21, 2009, news event on government efficiency and effectiveness that I use in this video comes from the PUBLIC DOMAIN video uploaded by the White House available online at www.youtube.com The clips of the supposed straight news story and interview of Republican Senator Judd Gregg by Fox News anchor Bill Hemmer on the program "America's Newsroom" comes from the episode broadcast on December 22, 2009, that is available in full online at www.youtube.com And, finally, as always, you can find DOZENS and DOZENS more examples of Fox News bias on my Fox News bias playlist on youtube at www.youtube.com
In an excerpt from an interview with The Nation, David Plouffe responded to liberal criticism of the President's current healthcare reform proposal. Plouffe, author of "Audacity to Win" and Campaign Manager for Obama '08, responded that he has "little tolerance" for criticism from progressives like Markos Moulitsas, and gave his defense of the bill currently moving through the senate. The night after the Senate gets 60 votes to proceed on debating health care reform, Senate Minority Leader Mitch mcconnell shares his thoughts on what to expect with cnn's John King. "We know the American people don't want us to do this," mcconnell argued, adding that the bill is "the wrong direction to go." "It drives the cost up for Americans... This bill is a job killer." King then asks mcconnell to explain why health reform was not proposed during the Bush administration. mcconnell said that it would be futile because "we didn't have the votes to pass it." He also proposed that the balance of the "failure" of the stimulus package be repealed. mcconnell also responds to a "challenge" made by Dick Durbin for an alternative ("there's nothing on the Internet," Durbin said). "We're not planning on having a 2000-page bill," mcconnell said.
cnn's John King asks freshman Democrat Senator Michael Bennet of Colorado: "If... you are a critical vote for health care reform, and every piece of evidence tells you if you support that bill, you will lose your job, would you cast the vote and lose your job?" Bennet firmly answered: "Yes." "That tape will be held," King warns Bennet.

Adopting what I perceive to be the "street" views of the terms "liberal" and "conservative", I argue that these labels do not accurately summarize or represent the actual views of Democrats and Republicans on the issue of gun control. Dictionary definitions: conservative-(2) tending to preserve established traditions or institutions and to resist or oppose any changes in these. liberal- (4) not restricted to the literal meaning; not strict; (5) tolerant of views differing from one's own; broad-minded; specifically, not orthodox; (7) favoring reform or progress, as in religion, education, etc.; specifically favoring political reforms tending toward democracy and personal freedom for the individual; progressive. There are obviously other definitions of both words which I excluded because they do not directly apply to politics, or in the case of definition #9 of liberal, hold a pejorative sense that I imagine was derived from the word "libertine". When South Carolina Republican Congressman Joe Wilson shouted out "You lie!" during President Barack Obama's speech to a joint session of Congress on health care reform last week, most reasonable people rejected the outburst, but I was surprised to see how much time Fox News spent giving intellectual support to the accusation and particularly surprised to see that support coming from Judge Andrew Napolitano, Fox News' senior judicial analyst, as I explain in this video. The public domain video of President Barack Obama's speech to a joint session of Congress on health care reform last week from which I took a clip for this video is available on youtube at www.youtube.com The 3 clips of Judge Andrew Napolitano are from Fox News' "Your World with Neil Cavuto" broadcast on September 10, 2009 which I have not been able to find online. You all watched and witnessed Mikey Arroyo. This is a rare situation where the son of our President Gloria Arroyo reveals the ways and secrets on how public officials can manipulate and steal millions of public money. Our government officials have forgotten that these money are intended to build schools, hospitals, fund scholarships for deserving students, health care, housing for thousands of families, fight poverty, food for the children...etc They have taken the rights of the poor people to live and survive. Their human dignity lost as we watch videos on Youtube of children and families eating garbage gathered from dump sites and restaurant garbage bins. Each day is a struggle to survive. We believe that these videos are helpful. There will be a long list of candidates in this coming 2010 elections. Some will aim to get their power back so they can continue to live their lavish and wasteful lifestyles at our expense. We must not let this happen again. "Remember, if you make an informed decision, regardless of who you pick, you are not throwing your vote away." 2010 will be the year to elect an effective leader who will help move our country to prosperity and better quality of life for every Filipino. President Obama comments on health reform at the AFL-CIO Labor Day Picnic in Cincinnati. He began the speech by commenting on labor in general, as well as the economy, when he switched the subject. "Just in case you were wondering," he says, "we're also going to build an America where health reform delivers more stability and security to every American." He declined to go into detail, advising the crowd to tune in on Wednesday night. While he remarked that the debates on health reform have been "good," he said that "every debate at some point comes to an end... It's time to act and get this thing done." Obama also had a challenge to Republicans opposed to health reform: "What are you gonna do? What's your answer? What's your solution? And you know what? They don't have one! Their answer is to do nothing."

This is the OFFICIAL song of the healthcare reform movement. Well, we hope it will be. It is neither conservative nor liberal. Large majorities of those living in both higher income and lower income households believe their taxes will go up. That is significantly higher than the number (29 percent) who say they would get better quality health care under the proposed plans. Another 17 percent expect no difference. Also on the personal level, some 58 percent think health care reforms would cost them money -- that's twice the number who say the reforms would save them money (24 percent). Another reason for the public's hesitancy in embracing reform is that people are pretty happy with their current health care arrangements, and other issues are seen as more important. Most Americans say they have health care insurance (91 percent), and a large 84 percent majority rates the quality of their insurance as excellent or good.
