On Fox News’ The O’Reilly Factor last night, Temple University professor Marc Lamont Hill argued that when politicians like Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin invoke “Joe Six Pack,” they are using a “code word” that excludes African-Americans. “Why can’t an African- American guy be Joe six pack?” asked O’Reilly.Full Digg post: http://digg.com/political_opinion/Only_Bill_O_Reilly_Is_Able_To_Imagine_A_Raceless_Human_Being

BillO gets a chance to interview Obama. Do you think O'Reilly will treat McCain this bad in the future? Not likely. This segment focuses on the tax issue. Bill doesn't like the notion that his tax bracket will have to pay a little more while 95% of Americans get a tax cut. And BIllO says I was unfair to him in my first post about these interviews when I complained about Bill's constant interruptions of Obama. He would never treat McCain/Bush or Cheney this way. Obama handled it very well and it is a good segment.

http://mediamatters.org/items/200603030010 O'Reilly threatened a radio show caller with "a little visit" from "Fox security" for mentioning Olbermann's name on the air Summary: On his nationally syndicated radio show, Bill O'Reilly threatened to turn over the personal information of a caller to "Fox security" because the caller mentioned MSNBC's Keith Olbermann. As Media Matters has noted, in recent weeks, Olbermann has repeatedly awarded O'Reilly the "Worst Person in the World" designation during his show, MSNBC's Countdown with Keith Olbermann. On the March 2 broadcast of Westwood One's The Radio Factor, host Bill O'Reilly threatened to turn over the personal information of a caller to "Fox security" because the caller mentioned MSNBC's Keith Olbermann. As Media Matters for America has noted, in recent weeks, Olbermann has repeatedly awarded O'Reilly the "Worst Person in the World" designation during his show, MSNBC's Countdown with Keith Olbermann. O'Reilly has responded, on several occasions, by asserting that MSNBC "is a true ratings disaster." The caller began by telling O'Reilly, "I like to listen to you during the day." Continuing, the caller stated, "I think Keith Olbermann's show," at which point O'Reilly disconnected the call, proclaiming: "Mike is -- he's a gone guy. You know, we have his -- we have your phone numbers, by the way. So, if you're listening, Mike, we have your phone number, and we're going to turn it over to Fox security, and you'll be getting a little visit." Co-host E.D. Hill -- who also co-hosts Fox News' Fox & Friends -- chimed in: "Maybe Mike is from the mothership." O'Reilly responded that the caller was "going to get into big trouble, because we're not going to play around." Warning his listeners, O'Reilly continued: "When you call us, ladies and gentleman, just so you know, we do have your phone number, and if you say anything untoward, obscene, or anything like that, Fox security will then contact your local authorities, and you will be held accountable. Fair?" Apparently, O'Reilly decided that mentioning Olbermann's name was "untoward" or "obscene." After Hill agreed with O'Reilly's apparent policy of turning over a caller's personal information to the authorities as being "fair," O'Reilly warned again that callers making "untoward" and "obscene" statements "will be held accountable. Believe it." On the February 23 edition of his Fox News television program, The O'Reilly Factor, O'Reilly announced the launch of a petition on his website, www.BillO'Reilly.com, calling for the reinstatement of Phil Donahue, who previously hosted a show on MSNBC in the same 8 p.m. ET time slot as Olbermann's show. During the February 24 edition of Countdown, in response to O'Reilly's campaign, Olbermann aired a number of video clips from past Countdown editions and commented on several of the claims in O'Reilly's petition. The weblog Crooks & Liars noted that the caller apparently was blogger Mike Stark, who has suggested on his Calling All Wingnuts blog that he is engaged in a campaign to call in to The Radio Factor to irritate O'Reilly. From the March 2 broadcast of Westwood One's The Radio Factor with Bill O'Reilly: O'REILLY: Orlando, Florida, Mike, go. CALLER: Hey Bill, I appreciate you taking my call. O'REILLY: Sure. CALLER: I like to listen to you during the day, I think Keith Olbermann's show -- O'REILLY: There ya go, Mike is -- he's a gone guy. You know, we have his -- we have your phone numbers, by the way. So, if you're listening, Mike, we have your phone number, and we're going to turn it over to Fox security, and you'll be getting a little visit. HILL: Maybe Mike is from the mothership. O'REILLY: No, Maybe Mike is going to get into big trouble, because we're not going to play around. When you call us, ladies and gentleman, just so you know, we do have your phone number, and if you say anything untoward, obscene, or anything like that, Fox security then will contact your local authorities, and you will be held accountable. Fair? HILL: That's fair. O'REILLY: So, just -- all you guys who do this kind of a thing, you know, I know some shock jocks. Whatever. You will be held accountable. Believe it. We'll be right back.
“An American Carol” — a new movie which opens Oct. 3 — is directed by David Zucker and features a cameo by Bill O’Reilly. O Reilly says hes "somewhat" sad for the little girls who die because FOX couldnt confirm if they were "legally" here. He claims that pro-amnesty groups and other pro immigration groups are using violence to get sanctuary cities. He recently blamed these pro groups for burning a house with kids to get what they want. he actually said that.
O'Reilly thinks he can teach our children proper behavior, and we can't think of a worse father figure than an angry, hate-filled shock jock notorious for telling guests to "Shut up!" We wondered what would happen if kids read O'Reilly's book and then saw the real O'Reilly for themselves. Bill O'Reilly blatantly lies about Rev. Jeremiah Wright, claiming "we have now proven beyond a reasonable doubt that he is an anti-American guy and there's no question about it." He makes this claim on the basis of 3 minutes of soundbites taken out of context. 3 minutes out of tens of thousands of minutes of preaching over the course of 35 years.Full Digg post: http://digg.com/2008_us_elections/Bill_O_Reilly_lies_about_Jeremiah_Wright
Dr. Boyce Watkins slams Juan Williams on The O'Reilly Factor by referring to him as O'Reilly's "Happy Little Negro". This led to a firestorm of national controversy. Dr. Watkins was one of the people that helped Rev. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton get Don Imus off the air after he referred to the Rutgers Women's basketball players as "Nappy Headed Hoes". He too issues a State of the Black Union Address from YourBlackWorld.com. Dr. Watkins has appeared on ESPN, CNN, BET, Fox News, CBS and other networks fighting for racial equality. He and Al Sharpton appeared on The Wendy Williams Experience in New York, and Watkins has also gotten into powerful feuds with Bill O'Reilly of Fox News (The O'Reilly Factor) and Sean Hannity of Hannity & Colmes. He has appeared with Michael Eric Dyson many times, The Rev. Jesse Jackson and other African-Americans fighting for equal rights for black people. Watkins was one of the first to bring the Jena 6 case to light in national media, and he also was the one who gave Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson the to attack Don Imus' corporate sponsors. It was ultimately Watkins' that took Imus off the air. Dr. Watkins chose not to attend the State of the Black Union Conference for 2008, mainly because of concern that corporate interests, mainstream media and partisan politics would skew the perspective of the event. Bill O'Reilly continues his lie that John Edwards blamed homelessness among veterans on corporations and the economy (watch the edit around :42 where Edwards talking about Exxon Mobil's record profits is spliced to a different clip of Edwards talking about homeless veterans to make them seem connected). Edwards has never blamed homelessness among vets on corporations or the economy. BOR then attacks David Letterman. BOR goes on to claim that the Veterans Administration has plenty of beds for every homeless veteran. In a discussion with conservative Carrie Lukas and FOX contributor Col. (ret.) David Hunt, BOR claims that homeless vets suffering from addiction "don't want to be rehabbed" and that homeless vets don't need help because "it isn't a matter of owing anybody anything." BOR was clearly upset that Hunt, a reliable ally, repeatedly refuted all of BOR's claims that homeless vets get all the help they need, that the VA provides a bed for every one of them, and that homeless vets have chosen to be homeless addicts. Two weeks after saying that the government is providing plenty of money and resources to help homeless veterans, that homeless vets are in their situation by choice, and that Americans don't owe homeless vets anything, BOR announced that he would support the creation of a new GI bill because the government isn't providing enough money and resources to vets and that we as Americans owe veterans more than they are getting. BOR had previously said that politicians can "do little" to solve the problem of homelessness among veterans.
O'Reilly says poor people have too much stuff. My question: How poor should poor people be? How little should they have to satisfy O'Reilly's definition of "poor"?
