PLEASE READ This is an upgrade of the previous lyrics video I did of this song. Someone special gave me a very helpful tip - giving me the real lyrics. Andy Williams began his singing career in the late 1930's singing with his brothers, and they billed themselves as The Williams Brothers. Among their notable songs was accompanying Bing Crosby on his hit "Swinging On A Star". When Andy went solo he signed with Cadence Records and had several hits in the 1950's including "Canadian Sunset", "Are You Sincere", and others. He established a free and easy style similar to that of Perry Como's, and landed his own tv variety show beginning in 1962. He also became a very savvy businessman ultimately buying the entire Cadence catalog of music in 1964 which included all the original recordings by such artists as the Everly Brothers as well as his own material. Andy is probably best known today for the songs he recorded with Columbia Records who he signed with after his departure from Cadence. Among these songs was "Can't Get Used To Losing You" composed by the songwriting team of Doc Pomus and Mort Shuman, famed for the many songs they wrote for The Drifters including "Save The Last Dance For Me" and "This Magic Moment". "Can't Get Used To Losing You" peaked at #2 in the nation during March of 1963.

Riding the Millennium Line from Columbia station in New Westminster--transfer point to the Expo line to Surrey--to Lougheed Town Center station in Burnaby, transfer point to the 97 B-Line (a rather neglected BRT line) and several other important bus routes. Lougheed is also the future junction with the under-construction and long-promised Evergreen Line to Port Moody and Coquitlam. Just out of Columbia, the approaches to the SkyBridge over the Fraser River rise from the Millennium Line junction, and a train of Mark II ART cars descends. Thereafter is a tunnel under Queen's Park, after which the line parallels the Fraser River, with beautiful views to the Coast Mountains. Sapperton station is next, serving north New Westminster, and the route passes next to the Canadian National tracks (a yard transfer freight can be seen to the right, with the BNSF New Westminster yards to the left). Braid is next, with its beautiful wood roof. It is another important bus transfer hub with routes to Coquitlam. The line crosses CN's Brunette Yard, before paralleling Hwy 1 and the middle layover track for early morning and late night runs terminating at Lougheed. At Lougheed Town Centre, partly-built stubs and sidings to accommodate the Evergreen Line can be seen as the train approaches the station. Yes, my lens does have a spot on it, and those vague wavy lines I believe are defrosters built in to the front windshield.

This short video 'documentary' [or 'videomentary'] of the clean-up after the demolition will serve as a salute to the memory of a bygone era during which water fountains were maintained as a city street scape... decor and water display. On the other hand the tourists visiting for a second or third time may very well miss the fountain...a cool place to put one's footsies in, a hot summer day. From the 'Five Corners' surrounded by many a small and quaint merchants stores, clothes, fashion, Chinese medicine and therapy services are offered. Engineering firms, architects. Lilla Mej baby clothes for mothers and gran moms to shop in newly established 'boutique for the small-ones'. Also eateries like Chicken Bob's Cantina, tex-mex, foods and other tasty culinary dishes are on the menu. A cup of tea and real Sicilian Pizzeria is awaiting any one hungry for the 'hot and filling, value for the dollar meal. I really like the corner store, convenient store, on the block by Firs street 'cause they have flowers, international news-prints and food; I call it emergency provisions.
