Box opening of ASUS P5Q Turbo mainboard. Recently bought this on Jan 2010 to replace the ageing ASUS P5B in my 2nd system. Wanted to get the P5Q-E, P5Q Deluxe, P5Q Pro Turbo or the P5Q-D Turbo, but ASUS had already stopped its productions and therefore, I am only left with no choice but the P5Q Turbo or either the lower specs mainboards. Furthermore, I do not have the intentions to upgrade to an i5core or i7core system yet. I needed to wait for them to be more mature before deciding to do so. (and they are quite expensive in my country). My CPU, RAM, GPU and other components will be re-used on this mainboard. As this current system not a Hardcore Gaming system, it's just for Net-surfing, MSN and playing light interactive games. BTW, it will be running on Windows XP SP3 for certain program compatibities that I am still using.

Here I discuss in my usual stuttering speech the differences between The ARM Platform / processor (Acorn Advanced RISC Machine) With the x86 platform processors. Windows CE is normally put on ARM processors because it takes less computer RAM / memory because most of the arm processors, although energy efficient, is overall slower than the x86 counterpart such as ARM Cortex vs Intel Atom. Currently, Google Android Linux , Windows ce is put on ARM based devices and has become very popular these days. The x86 Processors are much stronger and popular in modern computers as well as more expensive, but they are less energy efficient and used in big devices rather than the smaller sleaker ones. In short, the x86 chips are for power while the ARM chaips are for efficency but the newer ARM cortex is pretty powerful. Now, going to the differences. The BIGGEST problem with windows ce embedded that runs on an ARM computer is that there is no Adobe Flash Player that runs on it. The newer ce as flash lite but very few products uses this OS. The video will explain more. Essentially, All the programs and applications that runs on x86 processors will NOT run on ARm processors.

In this video, I show you guys a free virtual machine application that is an alternative to the expensive VMware Fusion and Parallels. It has the same features as the paid apps but it is completely freeware. This is completely legal and safe to download. The free VM app is called Virtual Box and it is available for Mac, Windows, Linux and Solaris. What is a virtual machine? A virtual machine is a program that allows you to simulate a different operating system (like an emulator) and will allow you to run programs or apps from the different operating system without rebooting your computer. For example on a mac, normally, you would need to restart and boot into windows to run a windows program. Using a virtual machine like Virtual Box, you can simply start running windows programs at the same time you are running your mac in the background.
