WILLIAM PENN FYVE -SWAMI / BLOW MY MIND 1966 thunderbird records MONO 502a/b (shapiro, cox, rollie, leidenthal) A supreme gargage banger. The guitar is so liquid LSD fuzzed, this could be considered the ideal for that sound. The Swami lyrics are on point and rectify the illusion placed upon the ediface of North American pop culture. A true revelation albeit tounge in cheek ala ZAPPA, all done on a bed of hot psychedelic induced Yardbird rave up coals of excursion. The flip side title, says it all and more mind-fuckery. I'm sure this has been comp'ed... In 1919-1920 some of the first paved roads under the federal highway program were laid--many using bricks. US 22 William Penn Highway in Western Pennsylvania was one of those roads. While almost all the brick sections are gone or paved over, this short section in a very busy suburban location east of Pittsburgh still remains. Go back in time for a moment and enjoy! See more stills and you tube videos at www.stuffthatsgone.com Note: Be careful if you go check this out--I was chased off the property as soon as the video was complete (although it does not state that it is a private road!) Students with Special Needs Improve their Grades and even Graduate with Wimba Based in PA, William Penn School District has one passion: to engage all staff, parents and members of the larger community as "Champions for Children" to assure a positive atmosphere for learning in which all students can achieve high academic standards. During this video, faculty and students discuss how Wimba's collaborative learning environment helps K-12 students excel. "Wimba allows me to reach those students that otherwise we'd lose." -Cynthia Hyland, MEd, Distance Educator, William Penn School District Cyber Academy "My grades definitely improved," said Richard Giffins, a 12th grader enrolled in the Cyber Academy who contemplates joining the Army or attending college after he graduates in June 2008. "I like Wimba because it gives me different ways to learn. I'm more of an audio guy -- I'd rather hear it than read it. Hearing my teacher gives me more of an explanation and a better feel for what I'm learning. Wimba attacks all your senses; you can hear, see, and feel what you're learning. Wimba is a foolproof classroom." Cynthia Gaines, a fellow senior in her second year at the Cyber Academy who hopes to attend either Temple University of Norfolk State to study to study physical therapy, added, "Today we did an activity in Algebra and I got to work with all my classmates. I don't feel isolated."
This is my first film project. If you know nothing of the Curse of William Penn, here is a summary. The William Penn Statue was first perched atop City Hall building at Broad and Market Street in Center City Philadelphia over a century ago. In 1984, plans to build Philadelphia's first skyscraper - One Liberty Place - had commenced. The 945 foot glass skyscraper, to be located only three blocks west of City Hall, would exceed Penn's hat by a whopping 397 feet. Philadelphia sports teams had, up until that point, enjoyed a wealth of success - back to back Stanley Cups for the Flyers in 1974 and 1975, an NBA title for the Sixers in 1983, and the appearance of all four major sports teams in their respective finals in 1980, concluding in a World Series Title for the Phillies. The Golden Age of Sports in the City of Brotherly Love was brought to a halt in 1985, only a few months after discussions to build Liberty One had commenced, when Wayne Gretzky and the Edmonton Oilers hoisted the Stanley Cup following a win over the Flyers in game five. Since then, the Eagles, Sixers, Phillies and Flyers, have gone 0 for 7 in Championship finals, accumulating in an 88-season drought - the longest of any city with four professional sports teams. Meanwhile, the City of Brotherly Love now sports seven skyscrapers that rise above the ever mysterious statue of William Penn. Interestingly enough, all of the offending buildings stand to the west of City Hall as the city's founder faces northeast ...
