This interview with Roger Federer, Mens Wimbledon Tennis Champion 2009, was recorded in the evening of the 5th July 2009 as part of the "Today at Wimbledon" programme on BBC2.
Of all those trips that I have been to UK, it was my first appearance at Wimbledon. I love watching tennis and used to watch Wimbledon on television all these years. I was smitten by the initial ties, the quarters, the semis and the finals. It has always been my dream to see any match at Wimbledon. A dear friend of mine promised me to take me to Wimbledon Finals. On Saturday, I made it to the Women's Final to see Serena lift the title competing against her sister Venus. Followed by that was a chance to see the Men's Doubles Final. Billions watched on television, thousands stormed to Wimbledon, 15k were on Centre Court when the epic final took place between Roger Federer & Andy Roddick. Never in my wildest imagination I had thought being in the elite crowd of 15k on Centre Court. The timing was perfect, the venue Wimbledon 2009, and I had few surprising and unpredictable experiences one after another, from watching Roger Federer and Andy Roddick Final - 'History in the making' live on Wimbledon Centre Court, to meeting 1991 Wimbledon Champion Michael Stich and Indian Tennis Legend Vijay Amritraj, an experience never to be forgotten. The thought has still not sunk in but the reality is, I have feather in the cap for the lifetime. It gives me immense pleasure to share these magical moments with all of you.

www.fuzzyyellowballs.com Roger Federer and Andy Roddick played an epic final at the 2009 Wimbledon Championships. Federer beat Roddick 16 - 14 in the 5th set. Perhaps somewhat unexpectedly, Roddick played his nemesis much closer than one would have expected. Andy can thank his improved movement and backhand -- the two prevented Federer from attacking Roddick like he had in the past.
I feel so sorry for Andy Roddick - I can't see him getting that close to his dream of winning Wimbledon again. Credit to Federer though for his incredible performance under pressure. This is the tie break that pretty much decided the match in the end. Here is Roddick's decline from 6-2 up to lose the set.

Serena Williams has landed her third Wimbledon title after overcoming elder sister Venus 7-6 (7/3) 6-2. The American No. 2 seed dominated the baseline rallies and outmanoeuvred the No. 3 seeded opponent to seal a comprehensive straight sets victory. The head-to-head record between the Williams duo told its own story going into Saturday's final with both sisters sharing 10 wins over the other sibling. And predictably, the scoreboard was unable to split the pair in the opening exchanges as both players demonstrated their serving prowess. Younger sister Serena is labelled as the better server of the two and the 27-year-old needed every ounce of her booming shot to come through the eighth game after staring two-break points in the face. The American managed to bludgeon her way through that game and then proceeded to take her elder sister to deuce in the eleventh game, but again it went with serve. Unanswerable tennis Inevitably a tie-break beckoned and it went Serena's way after some unanswerable tennis. First, the World No. 2 raced to a 6-2 lead in the breaker before taking the opener on her second set point after pulling a top-spin backhand lob right out of the top drawer. The second set went with serve until the sixth game when Venus' first serve deserted her and she was made to pay the price. The No. 3 seed was unable to find a first serve as she conceded a break point and a double-fault in the next point saw the 29-year-old hand the momentum to her sister. Predator ...

Wimbledon - 2009 Men's Singles Fourth Round - 107. Andy Murray vs Stanislas Wawrinka 5th Set ,murry takes victory

Wozniacki and Lisicki bump into each other during 4th round match at Wimbledon in 2009. ******** FEEL FREE TO RATE & COMMENT******** (the following is quoted from www.downthelinetennis.com) During Sabine Lisicki's 6-4, 6-4 upset of Caroline Wozniacki in the fourth round of Wimbledon today, the two lady ballers re-enacted the infamous "Bumpgate" between Venus Williams and Irina Spirlea at the 1997 US Open. Here's what the German had to say about the incident in question: Q. Seemed to be an instant where you almost bumped at net at the changeover. What happened there? SABINE LISICKI: You know, I don't know. We've been changing the sides all the time, you know, the whole match. I was always passing on the left side and she was passing on the right side. So, I don't know. She all of a sudden went to the side I was passing all the time, and we just bumped each other. But, I mean, there's no big deal for me. Q. You were a little bit unhappy. You had a quick word with the umpire. SABINE LISICKI: Me? Q. Yes. SABINE LISICKI: No, it was her. She was discussing with him. I was just focusing for the next game. [Damn - Wozzi was NOT pleased by the incident. But I bet losing to Lisi for the second consecutive time in a big match must have felt a lot worse. Plus they were wearing matching adidas outfits. I'd be pissed too.]
