MARSHALL, Mich. (WOOD) Durk Dunham, the Director of Emergency Management for Calhoun County, told 24 Hour News 8 there will be a 5 pm press conference about what he called this "significant" leak. Parts of Division Drive, 16 Mile Road and A Drive North in Marshall are closed at this time because of an oil leak. A spokesman with the DNRE told 24 Hour News 8 a citizen reported a pipeline transporting crude oil was leaking and spilling into a creek near Marshall. Enbridge , the company in charge of the pipeline told the DNRE it had "shut off the valve." Both the company and the DNRE are at the scene. The Emmett Township Department of Public Safety is advising residents along the river and people visiting the county parks such as Bridge Park (9 mile near G Drive North) not to swim, fish or use the Kalamazoo River until the situation has been cleared.
