Shakira performing ''She Wolf' at Kick-Off Concert of FIFA World Cup South Africa 2010! Lyrics: "She Wolf" SOS she is in disguise SOS she is in disguise There's a she wolf in disguise, Coming out, coming out, coming out A domesticated girl that's all you ask of me, Darling it is no joke, this is lycanthropy. Moon's awake now, with eyes wide open My body is craving, so feed the hungry I've been devoting myself to you Monday to Monday And Friday to Friday Not getting enough retribution or decent incentives to keep me at it Starting to feel just a little abused Like a coffee machine in an office (aaa) So I'm gonna go somewhere closer To get me a lover and tell you about it There's a she wolf in the closet, Open up and set it free [wolf sound] There's a she wolf in the closet, Let it out so it can breathe (inhales, exhales) Sitting across the bar, staring right at her prey, It's going well so far, she's gonna get her way. Nocturnal creatures are not so prudent, The moon's my teacher, and I'm her student. To look at the single man I've got on me a special radar, And the fire department's hotline in case i get in trouble later Not looking for cute little divas or rich city guys that just want to enjoy I'm having a very good time in the heat, very bad in the arms of a boy There's a she wolf in the closet, Open up and set it free [wolf sound] There's a she wolf in the closet, Let it out so it can breathe (inhales, exhales) SOS she is in disguise SOS she is in disguise, breathes ...

The official song of the FIFA world cup "Waka Waka" is presented by the Colombian singer Shakira and the band Freshlyground from South Africa, and is sung in both English and Spanish. The song is based upon a traditional African soldiers' song named Zangalewa.Shakira and Freshlyground performed the song at the pre-tournament Kick-Off concert in Soweto on 10 June. It was also sung at the opening ceremony on 11 June and will be performed at the final on 11 July. The 2010 FIFA World Cup is the 19th and current FIFA World Cup, the premier international association football tournament. It is being held in South Africa, beginning on 11 June and scheduled to conclude on 11 July 2010. The tournament is the culmination of a qualification process that began in August 2007 and involved 204 of the 208 FIFA national teams. As such, it matches the 2008 Summer Olympics as the sports event with the most competing nations. The final is forecast to be among the most-watched events ever, possibly behind only the opening ceremony of the 2008 Olympic Games.

The All Whites booked their place in next year's football World Cup finals - and New Zealand sporting history - with a dramatic 1-0 win over Bahrain in Wellington last night. A passionate, sellout 35500 crowd at the Cake Tin saw Rory Fallon's header and Mark Paston's penalty save give Ricki Herbert's team a spot at the world's biggest sporting event for only the second time - and the first since 1982. The final whistle sparked scenes of incredible celebration as the capital got ready to party. Police and stewards had to hold back jubilant fans as the All Whites embarked on a lap of honour. Herbert, who played in the 1982 team, said his team had "given it everything, four years of total commitment". "We did a little bit of homework and really pulled it out of the top drawer," he said. ' "We thought we'd go through without conceding a goal, we thought one would do it. It's just so emotional." Fallon, whose father Kevin was an assistant coach during the 1982 campaign, gave a succinct summary of his all-important goal: "Them ones I don't miss." Paston said facing the penalty that would have ended All White hopes was "a bit surreal". "I basically guessed which way and it ended up in my hands - it was great." Team captain Ryan Nelsen, who plays for Blackburn Rovers in the English Premier League, paid tribute to the Wellington supporters. "I've played in some incredible atmospheres in my time but this is right up there. It's been brilliant." Prime Minister John Key was quick to ...

English Soccer Legends get some royal support in launching a bid to stage the 2018 World Cup in Britain. STORY: England soccer legends past and present teamed up in London on Monday to launch the country's bid to stage the 2018 World Cup finals. England last staged soccer's most prestigious event in 1966, the same year they won the tournament for the only time. Ex-Manchester United star David Beckham, who also campaigned in the successful 2012 Olympic bid, spoke of the passion of England supporters. [David Beckham, England Player]: "I think what people realise in our country is that football is so huge and the fan base is so huge, not just obviously from club football but internationally. Our fans travel everywhere, all over the world, and have always been in my eyes and in many peoples eyes the best travelled fans and also the support that they give us is huge. Prince William, President of England's Football Association (FA), recorded a message of support. [Prince William, President, Football Association]: "If, as I hope, our bid proves successful, I know that we will deliver a foot baling legacy that will reach beyond our small islands. As a nation we are united behind the bid, speaking personally, I am very proud to be supporting it." Soccer's world governing body will decide the host nation in December 2010. The other candidates include Russia, the United States, Australia and Japan. Britain is already hosting the 2012 Olympics, the 2019 Cricket World Cup and bidding ...
World Cup 1990 Semi-Final England v Germany Football www.footballworldcupbrazil2014.com The semi finals of Italia 90 was England biggest match since their 1966 triumph of winning the world cup, and was a night which will be remembered forever in English football. England had been gaining momentum throughout the tournament and West Germany had been the best team of the tournament this match would have made a fitting final. England were the brighter team to start off with, Gascoigne came close after few minutes. Pearce had a shot that went just wide and Waddle came close with a shot from the half way line. West Germany also created chances in the first half but Shilton had an easy first half. Mid way through the second half England went behind to a cruelly deflected free kick which deflected off Paul parker and looped over Peter Shilton. Lineker equalised with a great Poachers strike with ten minutes of normal time remaining. During extra time Chris waddle had a shot that hit the inside of the post, at the other end the Germans nearly scored as Buchwald's shot hit the outside of the post. During the second half of extra time, the tournament had one of its most memorable moments when Paul Gascoigne broke down in tears after receiving a booking which would have kept him out of the World cup final if England were to reach it. By the end of extra time the score was still level at 1-1 and the match had to be decided by the penalty shoot out. Both sides scored their first three ...
1:0 Pelé (19.) 1:1 Roberto Boninsegna (37.) 2:1 Gerson (65.) 3:1 Jairzinho (70.) 4:1 Carlos Alberto Torres (86.) In the 1970 World Cup Final, Brazil struck first, with Pelé heading in a cross by Rivelino at the 18th minute. Roberto Boninsegna equalized for Italy after a blunder in the Brazilian defence. In the second half, Brazil's firepower and creativity was too much for an Italian side that clung to their cautious defensive system. Gérson fired in a powerful shot for the second goal, and then helped provide the third, with a long free kick to Pelé who headed down into the path of the onrushing Jairzinho. Pelé capped his superb performance by drawing the Italian defence in the centre and feeding captain Carlos Alberto on the right flank for the final score. Carlos Alberto's goal, after a series of moves by the Brazilian team from the left to the centre, is considered one of the greatest goals ever scored in the history of the tournament. A total of 8 outfield players from Brazil passed the ball until Captain Carlos Alberto hammered the ball into the corner of the Italian goal following an inch perfect pass across the Italian 18 yard box from Pelé, prompted by the intelligent Tostão, who, with his back to the goal, told Pelé that Alberto was steaming in on the right flank. Tostão started the move 5 yards from the left of the Brazilian 18 yard box, then ran the length of the field to the Italian box without touching the ball again to tell Pelé to lay it off for Alberto ...
0:1 Helmut Haller (12.) 1:1 Geoff Hurst (18.) 2:1 Martin Peters (78.) 2:2 Wolfgang Weber (90.) 3:2 Geoff Hurst (98.) 4:2 Geoff Hurst (120.) England, managed by Alf Ramsey and captained by Bobby Moore, won the toss and elected to kick off. After twelve minutes, Siegfried Held sent a cross into the English penalty area which Ray Wilson misheaded to Helmut Haller, who got his shot on target. Jackie Charlton and goalkeeper Gordon Banks failed to deal with the shot which went in making it 10 to West Germany. In the 19th minute, Wolfgang Overath conceded a free kick, which Moore floated into the West German area, Geoff Hurst ran in and deflected the ball into the net for an equaliser. he teams were level at half time, and after 77 minutes England won a corner. Alan Ball delivered the ball to Geoff Hurst whose deflected shot from the edge of the area found Martin Peters. He produced the final shot, beating the West German keeper from eight yards to make the score 21 to England. The Germans pressed for an equaliser in the closing moments, and in the last minute the referee awarded them a free-kick when Uwe Seeler backed into Jack Charlton who protested that he was the one who had been fouled. The kick was taken by Lothar Emmerich, with the ball going to George Cohen who managed to block it, but the ball bounced across the England six-yard box and Wolfgang Weber struck home to level the scores at 22 and force the match into extra time. The German equaliser was controversial since ...
1:0 Pablo Dorado (12.) 1:1 Carlos Peucelle (20.) 1:2 Guillermo Stábile (37.) 2:2 Pedro Cea (57.) 3:2 Victoriano Santos Iriarte (68.) 4:2 Hector Castro (90.) The 1930 World Cup final was thus contested between the finalists from the 1928 Olympics, Uruguay and Argentina. The final was played at the Estadio Centenario on July 30. The stadium gates were opened at eight o'clock, six hours before kick-off, and at noon the ground was full, officially holding 93000 people. A disagreement overshadowed the build-up to the match as the teams disagreed on who should provide the match ball, forcing Federation to intervene and decree that the Argentine team would provide the ball for the first half and the Uruguayans would provide their own for the second. The game ended 4-2 to Uruguay (who had trailed 2-1 at half time) who added the title World Cup winners to the mantle of Olympic Champions, as Jules Rimet presented the World Cup Trophy, which was later named for him. The following day was declared a national holiday in Uruguay; in the Argentinian capital Buenos Aires a mob threw stones at the Uruguayan consulate. Only one player from that final, Francisco Varallo (who played as a striker for Argentina), is still alive as of 5 February 2010. www.wikipedia.org
