A time-lapse video shows the construction over eight years of the new World Trade Center in New York.
I was out in New York once again so I decided to make a quick video of the Freedom Tower. To my knowledge we are at the 100th floor! Both One World Trade Center and Tower 4 look very close to topping out very soon. Also I don't have any videos from this angle so I tried looking south from the Hudson River. I then walked to the base of One World Trade Center then walked up to Tower 2 which I found a slight amount of progress on the core. I was also taking pictures with my Nikon FG SLR 35mm Film camera as well. So as it continues to get dark I walked over to the Brooklyn and on the Brooklyn Bridge and take a few night shots. Once I get halfway over the bridge I end this quick look at the World Trade Center. Next official update will be posted between April 25, 2012 and May 11, 2012 so be sure to look for them. One World Trade Center and the rest of the Manhattan skyline as seen on this date from Beach 140th Street and Beach Channel Drive. 1 World Trade Center got new glass on it's North and South and western face in the last 2 days. Even from here in Rockaway there must have some east facing glass installed at least thats the way it looks like from here. Also 1 World Trade is 100 stories high and 1244 feet as of this day. Oh yeh I said in the video the Verrrizano Brdige connects Queens to Brookyn, sorry about that I meant to say Brooklyn to Staten Island. And I just want to say to everyone if you do not like my videos, fine but please do not be jerks and post rude comments, I will never, and I repeat never will stop what I like to do because certain people do not like and post stupid comments, and I will not tolerate attacks against my family and friends over stupid non-sense over hating a video. Anyway I will get more updates soon stay tuned Please rate an subscribe.
1 World Trade Center update March 30, 2012, I am at Beach Channel Drive and Beach 135th Street in the Belle Harbor section of Rockaway, Queens. On this date 1 World Trade Center still currently stands 1244 feet to the top of the steel. I did see earlier today some steel going up but I do not know what part of the top it went. I saw this on Earth Cam. Also in this video you can see what will be the tallest residential tower in the city taken shape, "One57 or Carnegie57 which when completed will stand 1003 feet beating out the Beekman tower which stands 870 feet and is currently the city's tallest residential tower. Anyway please stay tuned there are more videos to come!
Driving in a yellow cab to the World Trade Center in 2001. The song: Eternal Hope, is taken from this royalty free music website incompetech.com The original World Trade Center was a complex with seven buildings featuring landmark twin towers in Lower Manhattan, New York City, United States. The complex opened on April 4, 1973, and was destroyed in 2001 during the September 11 attacks. The site is being rebuilt with five new skyscrapers and a memorial to the casualties of the attacks. As of November 2011, only one skyscraper has been completed, with four more expected to be completed before 2020. One World Trade Center will be the lead building for the new complex and is expected to be finished by 2013. A sixth tower is still awaiting confirmation to be built. At the time of their completion, the original 1 and 2 World Trade Center, known colloquially as the Twin Towers, were the tallest buildings in the world. The complex was designed in the early 1960s by Minoru Yamasaki and Associates of Troy, Michigan, and Emery Roth and Sons of New York.[2] The twin 110-story towers used a tube-frame structural design. To gain approval for the project, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey agreed to take over the Hudson & Manhattan Railroad, which became the Port Authority Trans-Hudson (PATH). Groundbreaking for the World Trade Center took place on August 5, 1966. The North Tower (1) was completed in December 1972 and the South Tower (2) was finished in July 1973. The ...
I continue walking around the World Trade Center site to film more progress. Significant progress has been done on all towers and the World Trade Center is starting to take shape. By closely counting the floors the glass is up to the 69th floor and the steel is up to the 94th floor. I'm not too sure on what floor tower 4 is up to but they are making progress. This was on a Sunday so I didn't find any workers to talk to. I had then stopped in the World Financial Center for a heat break as it was VERY cold. Afterwards I continue walking to bring you the progress on the World Trade Center. Rate and Comment!

I have once again ventured out to the World Trade Center to see more progress of the Freedom Tower / One World Trade Center, Tower 2, 3, and 4's construction. There has been a significant amount of progress on all the towers. One World Trade Center's steel is now up to the 90th Floor. Concrete has been poured on the 86th floor and glass is up to the 64th floor. So once again I walk around the entire World Trade Center site to get progress along with a few more interesting things. On September 11, I'll be thinking less about the World Trade Center and more about my father and the relentless -- probably unique -- ability of New York City to bury its dead and move on without a backward glance. My father was born in Manhattan in 1923, in a tenement building off Columbus Circle. A few years later, he moved to Brooklyn, a borough that was considered the country back then, a place that had more horses than cars. By the time he left there for good in 1966, it wasn't the country anymore, that's for sure. He worked for Sea-Land, a shipping company that was one of the World Trade Center's original tenants, and one of my very earliest memories is of my older brother and me playing in the company's unfinished offices in one of the towers before the complex opened to the public in 1973. Like many, probably most, New Yorkers, my father hated the Twin Towers at first, preferring the Chrysler and Empire State buildings, which had gone up during his childhood. He'd seen King Kong when it came out in 1933, he explained, and he just couldn't see the big ape climbing the towers. By the late '70s - after Philippe Petit tightrope walked across them, George Willig scaled them, Owen Quinn parachuted from them, and King Kong himself had been shot off them in a 1976 remake - he'd come around. On a trip to Manhattan around then, he asked me if I wanted to see where he'd been born. He hadn't been to the old neighborhood since before the war and was feeling nostalgic. We ...
