The Chicago Bears are a professional football team based in Chicago, Illinois. They are members of the NFC North Division of the National Football Conference (NFC) in the National Football League (NFL). The team is legally and corporately registered as Chicago Bears Football Club, Incorporated. The Bears have won nine professional American football league championships (eight NFL Championships and Super Bowl XX). The Bears hold the NFL records for the most enshrinees in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, with 26 members, and the most retired jersey numbers, those worn by 13 separate personnel. The Bears have also recorded more regular season and overall victories than any other NFL franchise. The franchise recorded its 700th win on December 7, 2008. The club was founded in Decatur, Illinois, in 1919, and moved to Chicago in 1921. Along with the Arizona Cardinals (originally from Chicago), it is one of only two remaining franchises from the NFL's founding. Bob Kelley was regarded as one of the finest football announcers in the history of radio and television. Bud Furillo was even more effusive, "Ol' Kell was the best football announcer I ever heard." Bob came West with the Rams in 1946, a position he had held since the inception of the pro football team in Cleveland in 1937. He won immediate fame for his vivid broadcasts. Bob announced the PCL's Angel games from 1948 to 1957. He was twice named the LA Times Sportscaster of the Year. He had a nightly controversial sports show on KMPC and was the sports director for the station. Jim Murray wrote: "His dinner-hour sports show made as many people gnash their teeth as cheer. But they listened. His mail was sulfuric. But they wrote." Bob was born in Kalamazoo and attended high school in Elkhart, Indiana and Western Reserve University where he graduated in 1942. After graduation from high school, Bob moved to South Bend and a job announcing the football games of the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame. He became director of sports for WGAR-Cleveland and began calling Ram games. In 1942 he joined WJR-Detroit where he broadcast the games of the University of Michigan, while commuting back to Cleveland on Sundays to do the Rams. PTBTV aka Pushin' The Bay EXCLUSIVE! In this exclusive / raw video (Part 1 of 2), Mac Mall brings the Pushin' The Bay staff to Hawaii. This is PART 1 at Waikiki Beach, with footage at the Too Short Concert & Pro Bowl Weekend. Waikiki is a neighborhood of Honolulu, in the City & County of Honolulu, on the south shore of the island of Oahu, Hawaii. Waikiki Beach is the shoreline fronting Waikiki. The neighborhood extends from the Ala Wai Canal (a channel dug to drain former wetlands) on the west and north, to Diamond Head on the east. The name means spouting fresh water in Hawaiian for springs and streams that fed wetlands that once separated Waikiki from the interior. Waikiki has long been a place of relaxation. In particular, the area was a retreat for Hawaiian royalty in the 1800s. Much like the locals and tourists of today, Hawaiian royalty enjoyed surfing at Waikiki on early forms of longboards. Although not royalty as his name might suggest, Duke Kahanamoku, a local surfer born at the turn of the century and credited with popularizing the sport of surfing, is immortalized in a statue near the main strip of the Waikiki Beach. The statue, along with the numerous lei visitors to the beach place in the statue's outreached hands, can be viewed in real-time through the Waikiki Beach Webcam. In professional American football, the Pro Bowl is the all-star game of the National Football League (NFL). Since the merger with the rival American Football League (AFL) in 1970, it has ...
