Here is my second attempt at Photographic by Depeche Mode. Basically it's the "Some Bizarre" version but I taken some details from the Speak & Spell version. This time I tracked the entire song with ModPlug Tracker (with a soft synthesizer lead covering Dave's voice), then muted the parts I wanted to play and played them live. Here's the complete module (Impulse Tracker format) available for download: dl.dropbox.com All the sounds in this module (except drums which are samples I found in my MOD files collection and the voice lead, which comes from the Juno 106) come from my Roland JP-8000 and are programmed by me. Hope you like all the stuff. As usual, constructive comments are welcome :-)
Level 2 theme from the game Raptor played on the Yamaha SY-XG50 soft synthesizer.
Level 2 theme from the game Descent played on the Yamaha SY-XG50 soft synthesizer.
Song 2 from the game Whacky Wheels played on the Yamaha SY-XG50 soft synthesizer.
A Train Journey like no other! Video and music created by 3DM. The "SY-FI" reference is the name of the track used for the video, called thus because it uses a Yamaha SY-2 synth for the lead melody parts.

This is how Passport.mid should sound on analog equipment. I put the word "analogized" in the title in quotes because the only analog synth I have here it's the Juno 106, all the rest being digital. But all the keyboards here are doing all the stuff heard from the analog keyboards of the past decades (synth brasses, leads, electric pianos, etc...). In details: Roland Juno 106: bass line Roland JP-8000: sawtooth bleeps and lead sound from 0:57 to 1:20 Roland D-50: synth brasses Yamaha SY-77: main squarewave lead Clavia Nord Electro 3: background Fender Rhodes Piano Sound Blaster Live! Basic: drum track I just feeded Reaper with the passport.mid file and assigned each track to a synthesizer, then pressed the Play button and enjoyed all my synth stuff playing this beautiful song ;-D Passport.mid always bring back a lot of memories to me (the good old times of MS-DOS games and OPL3 cards come to mind). As I'm not playing myself the song but letting all my equipments doing the work, so this time the video it's a simple slideshow of my freshly built home studio. Respecting my philosophy of using old things to their full potential instead of thrashing them only because they're old, I built it all with recovered material (except some new cables which I needed), so it was very cheap. For example, the amplification it's done by a Technics V-300 Mark II and 2 pair of speakers (Sony SS A-701 and Marantz HD-345) all connected to the Technics amp, all this stuff being recovered from ...

A pretty interesting day in the studio...By accident I found the first little thing I recorded with the Tenori on and I decided to a handful overdubs... This film shows me dubbing the synthline i had recorded on the Yamaha SY-1 with the Chamberlin solo female voice...Not terribly exciting. If you are into this kind of thing...please visit www.roth-handle.nu for more info...

This video shows the routing concepts and techniques needed to use all 4 of Thor's inputs and outputs to make really complex, evolving and dynamic synth patches based around Thor's expansive filter sections. Thor itself is an absolute beast, but when used in combinations of other forms of synthesis and other devices it's true power is unlocked. Here, we're using 2 Malstrom synths and some new routing and cabling options in the first patch to show how this needs to be set up. The second part of the video is a creative patch that I made that shows how to truly make Thor an instrument like one you've never seen. One with the ability to change the entire scope of the patch and sound on-the-fly. Watch the Annotations in the video for a full explanation of the internal Thor routing I used for the second patch, I didn't have enough time to talk about it in the video. Part 1 (Thor as a Switchable Filter) can be found here - www.youtube.com Part 2 (Thor as a Programmable Filter) is here - www.youtube.com My Blog and Music Website for interested folks - www.SirSedricMusic.com Any suggestions on future topics would be greatly appreciated. I'll try my best to make it happen so, seriously, get at me! I'm thinking of doing one on ReGroove or the Matrix Pattern Sequencer.... or maybe more on Thor! As always, thanks for watching!

circuit bent yamaha tg33 vector synth revision 2. awm bends are located on a db-25 breakout box. new revisions include circuit bent fm waveforms and overall pitch controlled with a getlofi ltc1799 precision oscillator on the body of the tg33 itself. circuit bending the fm waveforms will produce chaotic results; self composition, glitchy auto accompaniments, and complete random reconstruction of the sound and playing response. this might make these bends more suitable for experimenting in the studio but with proper setup in patch arrangement the bent fm could be used live. fm bends will alter the patch to extremes but upon a power up cycle patches in memory are returned to their original state. the awm waveforms are completely stable on its own use. the module supports multitimbral operation of vector voices allowing for some really deep exploration for sound design and experimentation. in this video i'm experimenting with a single patch and utilitzing the fm bends. keep in mind that other fm patches and sounds will respond significantly differently from each other. i'm only controlling one note polyphony on a wind controller with one timbre. this video is not meant as a comprehensive demonstration of the fm side the tg33. the tg33 is run through the dsi evolver's amps and filters only to brighten the tone according to breath pressure, no other processing is used.

This is a vintage Yamaha Sy2 demo I am using the bow violin patch with vibrato touch control and wah wah foot control. Also utilizing the tonebend and pulsewidth functions. This is a very expressive keyboard when utilizing all its capabilities.. I am also playing it throught a Roland RE 201 Space echo which really helps .Cheers Enjoy The sympathiser guy..Just realized I recorded this with the tune knob 1 semitone too low Doh

I recommend you to listen in STEREO, this to better understand the quality and the dynamics of this tool, here is the link in stereo: de.youtube.com In this movie you will hear three different Pianos with three short pieces of music. The first was a "Arpeggio" classic character, played with the Bechstein 280. The second is a song of "Gerschwin" They cannot take that away from me, played with the Steinway & Sons D. The last song certainly will remind you of a song of "SEAL" Kiss from a Rose, also remembered from the movie "BATMAN" I use this piano with a computer Pentium Quad 2400 Mhz (9600 Mhz) Asus Motherboard with 8 GB RAM, 500 GB HDD, Soundcard RME HDSP 9632 Adat, System Windows Vista Ultimate 64 Bit. Info about Sampler: A sampler is an electronic musical instrument closely related to a synthesizer. Instead of generating sounds from scratch, however, a sampler starts with multiple recordings (or "samples") of different sounds, and then plays each back based on how the instrument is configured. Because these samples are usually stored in RAM, the information can be quickly accessed. The sampler has become an important instrument in hip hop, electronic music, and avant-garde music. Unlike traditional digital audio playback, each sample is associated with a set of synthesis parameters, and can thus be modified in many different ways. Most samplers have polyphonic capabilities - they are able to play more than one note at the same time. Many are also multitimbral: they can ...

Demonstration of the Roland SH-1000 synthesizer with Roland DEP-5 FX processor. The monophonic Roland SH-1000 was the first synthesizer from Roland - and the first synth of the SH-series! It has a surprisingly good basic sound. The filter sounds like a 24 db one. You have many waveforms with many footages, wich you can switch on simultaneously. A very underrated synth - as you can hear...
070... Keyboard Performance Station. Yamaha SY85 (my right); MIDI cont. for Kurzweil 1200 Pro I (my left); & vintage Casio MT-65; one of the earliest portables made, in the center. SY85 set to Grand Piano, Kurzweil set to Choir, and MT-65 on Horn w/delayed vibrato. The SY & Kurzweil are each piped through their own old 8-track tape or bookshelf stereos, each having 2 8-ohm Aiwa bookshelf speakers. It's a bit dark to see them, but this is a mess of power cords; speaker wires; AC adapters; MIDI cables; and extention cords & multipliers, rendering my small living room almost uninhabitable. The Casio is heared stand-alone through it's 4" speaker. An original piece.

Here is my little experiment on creating a wannabe Vox Continental sounding patch with my good old Yamaha SY 77. Far from the original, greatest Vox organ, but better than nothing... For the other SY 77 owners out there, in order to make a patch like this start with an empty patch in mode 1AFM Poly, then choose the algorithm n. 45, where all operators are summed in the output (no FM synthesys here, only additive synthesis). Then go to the OSCILLTR section and for all operators choose RATIO for Freq Mode, turn to ON the Phase Sync parameter, and the Detune and Init Phase parameters should be 0. This for all operators, then configure each operator as following: OP1: Wave Form: 2 - Coarse: 0.500 OP2: Wave Form: 2 - Coarse: 1.00 OP3: Wave Form: 2 - Coarse: 2.00 OP4: Wave Form: 3 - Coarse: 3.00 OP5: Wave Form: 3 - Coarse: 4.00 OP6: Wave Form: 2 - Coarse: 8.00 The operators are configured to emulate the Connie's drawbars as following: OP1: 16' Drawbar OP2: 8' Drawbar OP3: 4' Drawbar OP4 + OP5 + OP6: IV Drawbar After done this adjust the filter at your own tastes, in order to cut some high and hissing frequencies which can be boring in the final sound. Hope this can be useful!

This is a soft rock in C. This entire song was written by Andrew Vickers(vickersmaster) to his real love so we are trying to put some feeling on it. This is not the preliminar design of the song, this was just a practice so there are some mistakes on it. Some vintage tones from the Yamaha SY-2. This synth features the same filter as the legendary GX-1 which was the pre-cursor to the mighty CS-80. You'll hear the similarity instantly. This keyboard also features aftertouch.

The second synth Yamaha Ever produced. There is not much about this monster on the web, and I've never seen a video. The bass and filters on this synth rival almost any other synth out there.
