To download the entire song (this is only a fragment) go to: www.cdbaby.com or search it on iTunes. Jon Anderson from the famous rock band "YES" has collaborated on this and other compositions with an Australian Grammy nominated instrumentalist and composer Jann Castor. The lyric of "Unbroken Spirit", although universal in its meaning, represents a metaphorical journey of Jon Anderson's recovery back to health from acute respiratory collapse in May, 2008. for more info contact www.composing.com or www. jonanderson.com email music@composing.com
This is another one I discovered on my hard drive as I was evaluating my next vidoes to complete, that was basically finished, just missing titles and such. Anyway, here it is, better Nate than lever. From Wikipedia: Big Generator is the twelfth studio album by progressive rock band Yes. It was released in 1987 on Atlantic Records' Atco subsidiary label (Yes' last studio album for Atlantic) and was the follow-up to the massively successful 90125 album. A laborious album to make, Big Generator's sessions dragged on for two years, largely due to creative differences. Guitarist Trevor Rabin was aiming to progress beyond 90125, while founding lead vocalist Jon Anderson was beginning to yearn for more traditional Yes music. The result was an album that was successful commercially, with two songs reaching the US Top 40: "Love Will Find A Way" (also a #1 on the Mainstream Rock chart) and "Rhythm Of Love" (their last US Top 40 hit). The album was not as popular as 90125, and feeling that the band was going in a direction he didn't want to pursue, Jon Anderson began working on other projects at the conclusion of the Big Generator tour in 1988 including a partial reformation with his Yes bandmates from the 1970s. Lyrics: You wanna get close to me The feeling is so clear But I need some time to see Vision through my tears You wanna get next to me I need your intrusion I don't need to be Blinded by confusion Here is my heart Waiting for you Here is my soul I eat at chez nous Love ...
''Owner of a Lonely Heart'', originally released in November 1983 by progressive rock band Yes, this is the remixed version by Canadian DJ, composer and producer Max Graham. Released in 2005, this track charted 9th in UK singles chart.
Mood for a Day is an epic solo by Steve Howe. I have waited a long time to do this song because I always felt that its mood is so elusive to me and hard to convey the feeling I feel when listening to it. Finally it hit me, and here is how it flows for me. Peace. From Wikipedia: "Mood for a Day" is a three-minute, one second nylon-string guitar instrumental tune by English rock band Yes. It was written and entirely played by Steve Howe. The song is included in the album Fragile and as all five members of the band contributed one track of their own design to this album, Steve Howe, the Yes guitarist, did this as a solo guitar piece. A longer version appears on the live album Yessongs. An early version can be found on studio version of Clap in 2003 reissue of The Yes Album. Steve Howe considers the writing of the piece a turning point in its incorporation of classical/Spanish influenced flamenco music. His contribution to Queen's song "Innuendo" is an example of this. Recently, the Steve Howe Trio created a new arrangement for the song, with electric guitar and lasting almost six minutes. This arrangement is in their 2008 album, The Haunted Melody. Trivia The Brazilian rapper Túlio Dek, along with the band NX Zero, covered parts of this piece in the 2008 song "Tudo Passa"
Yes are an English progressive rock band formed in London in 1968 and generally regarded as one of the archetypal bands of the genre. Despite a great many lineup changes, occasional splits within the group and the ever-changing trends in popular music, the band has continued on for over forty years and still retains a large following. The band's music blends symphonic and other 'classical' structures with their own brand of rock music, which is marked by sharp dynamic contrasts, extended song lengths, abstract lyrics, and a general showcasing of instrumental prowess. Although the band's sole consistent member has been bass player Chris Squire (noted for his highly melodic and discursive playing as well as his early use of electronic effects), Yes is also generally noted for the distinctive high-register vocals of lead singer Jon Anderson and the eclectic musical stylings of a succession of guitarists (Peter Banks, Steve Howe, Trevor Rabin, Billy Sherwood), keyboard players (Tony Kaye, Rick Wakeman, Patrick Moraz, Geoff Downes, Igor Khoroshev) and drummers (Bill Bruford and Alan White). Several band members became celebrated musicians and/or bandleaders in their own right, and a 1980 lineup of the band was briefly fronted by future production star Trevor Horn.

After discovering Yes at the ripe young age of 18 (No, not in the 70's...in the late 90's), they became one of my favorite bands and (along with Rush) were my gateway into the realms of progressive rock. YES Rock of the 70s's - Excerpts Available from www.yesrockoftheseventiesdvd.com The year 2008 was the year in which YES celebrated its fortieth anniversary. The band still led by founder Chris Squire toured America with the latest line up to bear the name of this rather special band of musicians. This year was also important for another reason for whilst looking for footage for an entirely different project Voiceprint's researchers were able to secure rarely seen film footage that had only been previously seen either on television or in extract on video. Although the history of YES is well documented elsewhere it is worth reminding ourselves of the history and background to the production that we can now view it for the first time on DVD.

From Wikipedia: "Yours Is No Disgrace" is the opening track of 1971 album The Yes Album by the British progressive rock band Yes. It is notable as the first song to feature Steve Howe on guitar. It is one of the band's best known early songs and is the first in which the band attempted to explore longer songs, which would come to be a vital attribute in Yes songs over the next decade on albums such as Close to the Edge, Tales from Topographic Oceans, and Relayer. The song, along with other album tracks "Starship Trooper" and "Perpetual Change", is an early example of a rock epic for its complex form and length. The song's composition had important contributions from all band members. It begins with the first sounds of Steve Howe's jagged, distorted guitar, followed by a powerful duet of Tony Kaye's warm organ and Chris Squire's growling bass, and then an a capella by Jon Anderson. From here on, all the members join together in an ensemble and the song grows in its complexity. The song is also notable for the use of the stereo tracks, most remarkably during Howe's intermediate guitar breaks. The Yes Album is the third album by British progressive rock band Yes. The first release to feature 24-year-old guitarist Steve Howe, the album was released on Atlantic Records in February 1971 in the UK, a month later in the United States. This was the album that finally set Yes' career alight, with the album reaching #4 in the UK and, eventually, #40 in the US, where it was a ...
TIME AND A WORD from the Dvd YES - THE LOST BROADCASTS available from www.yeslostbroadcastsdvd.com 2008 was an important year for Yes. It was the year in which the band celebrated its fortieth anniversary. The band, still led by founder Chris Squire, toured America with the latest line up to bear the name of this rather special band of musicians. 2008 was also important for another reason, as towards the end of the year, whilst looking for footage for an entirely different project, a researcher unearthed the footage that is now included on this DVD The band, despite short periods of inactivity and a great many changes in personnel, have weathered the storms of fashion and commercial whims and released almost twenty studio albums and a number of live albums in the period 1968 -2008. The performances featured on this DVD, however, are from the very early days of the band. You could say from a time Before and Beyond their massive success; but the spark of what made them the massively successful band they became is visible here for all to see and hear

Repost. Guess I forgot to re-upload it after WMG muted it before. Oh well, here it is again. From Wikipedia: Yes is the 1969 debut album from British progressive rock band Yes, considered among the first progressive rock albums. With the original Yes line-up of vocalist Jon Anderson, bassist Chris Squire, guitarist Peter Banks, keyboardist Tony Kaye and drummer Bill Bruford, Yes was the quintet's original musical statement, one that merged harmonic beauty with heavy instrumental backing. While many music critics regarded it as a strong initial effort, the album was not a large commercial success, due in part to the inexperience of the band and the producers. The album was also overshadowed by Led Zeppelin's debut album, released earlier that year. Two of the eight songs on the album are covers, which the band use to demonstrate their penchant for massively reworking others' songs; The Beatles' "Every Little Thing" is turned into a grungy wall of sound with several tempo changes, and The Byrds' "I See You" becomes a jazzy psychedelic workout for Banks and Bruford to display their instrumental virtuosity. Lester Bangs favourably reviewed the album in Rolling Stone, writing that it was "the kind of album that sometimes insinuates itself into your routine with a totally unexpected thrust of musical power." Lyrics: Sunshine is creeping in And somewhere in a field a life begins An egg too proud to rape The beginning of a shape of things to come That starts the run Life has begu ...
From wikipedia: Going for the One is the eighth studio album by British progressive rock band Yes. It was released in 1977 after an extended break for solo activity, and is especially notable for marking the return of keyboardist Rick Wakeman, who had departed in 1974 in the aftermath of the Tales from Topographic Oceans tour. His re-entry was facilitated by the departure of Patrick Moraz, after having only played on Relayer, although Moraz is thanked in the credits. After their extended break, the band regrouped in Switzerland, refreshed and ready to record in late 1976. The album was recorded at Mountain Studios by recording engineers John Timperley and David Richards. After constructing epic tracks for the last few years, Yes felt inspired to scale things back a bit and recorded some of their most direct and concise material since Fragile. Wakeman also varied his sound by largely forsaking his mellotron and experimenting with church organ on "Parallels" and the sole extended track, "Awaken". Century Plaza Towers After many successive album covers with Roger Dean, Yes (who also produced the album entirely by themselves) instead commissioned Hipgnosis (known for designing album covers for Pink Floyd) to create the artwork for Going for the One. The album cover features the Century Plaza Towers in Los Angeles, also known locally as the Twin Towers. Yes's return at the height of the punk movement was an unexpectedly successful one, with Going for the One reaching the ...

Meaning of the Lyrics from Wikipedia: In a May 27, 1996 interview with Elizabeth Gips on her show "Changes" (KKUP, Cupertino, CA), transcribed in the "Notes From the Edge" fanzine (issue #0159, August 23, 1996), Jon Anderson mentions, probably not for the first time, that the song—indeed, the whole album—is inspired by Hermann Hesse's book Siddhartha. "[We] did one album called Close to the Edge. [It] was based on the Siddhartha... You always come back down to the river. [You] know, all the rivers come to the same ocean. That was the basic idea. And so we made a really beautiful album[....]" This explanation can cast the cryptic and mysterious lyrics in a new light, tracking the awakening of Hesse's character "close to the edge" of a river (and, symbolically, of the serial lifetimes of his soul) where he experiences a spiritual awakening. According to that point of view, the lyrics are about how people can seek spiritual illumination, and find a new state of mind, living a whole life. In addition, Anderson was also concerned about how the words sounded, sometimes more than what they meant, creating, thus, verses that often don't seem to mean anything, such as "The time between the notes relates the colour to the scenes".
From Wikipedia: Awaken is a song by the British progressive rock band Yes released on their acclaimed 1977 album Going for the One. At 15 minutes and 31 seconds it is the longest track on the album, occupying most of the second side of the LP. Many Yes fans, as well as lead singer/songwriter Jon Anderson himself, consider this song to be the best track in the band's entire recorded output: "We had a hit record! I loved listening to 'Awaken', at last we had created a Masterwork."[1] Like many extended Yes pieces, the song has a very complex harmonic and rhythmic structure and enigmatic lyrics. Along with the track "Parallels", also released on Going for the One, the song features a church organ played by Rick Wakeman. According to the booklet of the 2003 CD reissue, these parts were recorded at St. Martins Church, Vevey, Switzerland. In addition the track features a harp played by Jon Anderson, especially prominent in the quiet middle section beginning at 6:38 in the song. An embryonic version called "High Vibration" had already been played at some concerts back in 1975 when the band was promoting their previous album Relayer. Lasting something over one minute it only featured the starting lyrics (up to "Where Can I Be") and melody by Jon Anderson with a gentle layer of Steve Howe´s guitar and Patrick Moraz´s mellotron. At that time the tune was used as a melodic announcement to "The Gates of Delirium". Since 1977 the song´s staple in concerts has been Chris Squire playing ...

This was also the last Yes album for more than twelve years to feature keyboardist Tony Kaye until his return in 1983's 90125. The Yes Album set the stage for the band's route to superstardom with Fragile and Close to the Edge. This was their first commercial success. The album was recorded at an old farmhouse in Devon, England, which was then home to Langley Studios. Howe loved the place so much, that he later bought the building and surrounding land and now lives there. Jon Anderson is credited as John Anderson on the album. Shortly afterwards he dropped the "h" from his first name. The album cover shows Tony Kaye with his foot in a cast. He had been in a car accident shortly before the picture was taken. very spirit-filled video
Witness does Yes. I don't think The TV folks were expecting the very hot signal blasting off Higgins's sound board, but the crowd loved it! (Rumor has it there were screams of pain and blood trickling out of the Channel 2 studio truck outside!) The result is a funky TV mix, but it's ok once you get used to it, and it gets better after their hearing returns.
