Zee TV India Fair, Edison, New Jersey, USA April 23, 2011 Singer: Prachi Makkar Dholki: Surya Makkar US born Prachi & Surya both just turned 15 & 11 can sing in 4 Languages; Sanskrit, English, Punjabi and Hindi. Prachi plays Harmonium & Violin and Surya Plays Tabla, Punjabi Dhool, Harmonium and Saxophone. Both are first to recite a Hindu Sanskrit Prayer, Indian National song Vande Matram and Sikh Shabad Kirtan recital Vahe Guru while playing Harmonium & Tabla on American TV NJN12 in Aug 2007. Prachi is also the first to recite a Sikh prayer in an Assembly Hall of America in New Jersey in March 2006. Both are winner of various Hindi Poetry competition, devotional singing competitions, essay, posters & educational competitions organized by their school & various organizations in Tri State area. In 2008 both received "True Ambassador of India" award from The Indian Panorama News Paper for their tremendous love for music and adherence to the pristine culture of India. Prachi's video with her request to President to "Fight Poverty & Hunger" was shown to 8000 Students during President Obama's swearing in Jan. 2009. Prachi got President Obama's outstanding Educational Achievement Award in June 2009 and Surya got State award for his Drug Awareness Poster in June 2010.
