On December 21, 2009, Intel announced the next generation of Atom processors, including the N450, with total kit power consumption down 20%. Intel Atom is a direct successor of the Intel A100 and A110 low-power microprocessors (code-named Stealey), which were built on a 90 nm process, had 512 KB L2 cache and ran at 600 MHz/800 MHz with 3W TDP (Thermal Design Power). Prior to the Silverthorne announcement, outside sources had speculated that Atom would compete with AMD's Geode system-on-a-chip processors, used by the One Laptop per Child (OLPC) project, and other cost and power sensitive applications for x86 processors. However, Intel revealed on October 15, 2007 that it was developing another new mobile processor, codenamed Diamondville, for OLPC-type devices.'Atom' was the name under which Silverthorne would be sold, while the supporting chipset formerly code-named Menlow was called Centrino Atom. Here is an IBM PC XT clone [built by a company called Whole Earth Computer Systems] that my language arts teacher/brother's friend's father gave me. I have had limited time with these machines, so I don't really know what is wrong with them yet. da

Something totally out of the blue here - Zenith inquired into doing a dual-LP with me earlier on, playing an emulated game. I basically took that and went "oh hey why don't we see if you can see my Dazzle card input?" And so we came up with this. The recording mechanism is pretty complex, involving screen capture to record Skype, Audacity to record and edit my narration (I can also edit the Skype audio in the same file, so it syncs better) and Dazzle for the physical video itself. The catch is that the screen capture ALSO takes the audio from the game, since it's played through my laptop speakers - this is not something I thought of at the time, and will hopefully be reduced by more precise recording settings. Even so, this was awesome, and I'm really looking forward to working on stuff using this. It's a BIT more work, but not huge amounts, so I can still get stuff out with this. It just might not be super regular, we'll see. Anyhow, the test game was Mario Strikers Charged, because I hadn't played it in forever. Just something cool to work with. I think the sound quality overall is pretty good, although if some of it is overamped on my end then I'll apologise and try to fix it for next time :P
In this video you see my perspective of the Red vs Blue event. www.Pure-warfare.com on which I am an honoured member on, organised the second "Red Vs Blue" event where all the pure clans team together on two separate teams and fight as one. Clans on Red Team included Eruption of Pures, Chaotic, Fatality We Are Royalty and many more. Clans on Blue Team included Final Ownage Elite, Corrupt Pures, Zenith, The Last Pures, Intense Redemption and many more. For whatever reason MM decided against joining in officially on either team, but instead decided that as all their possibly action was in one world, to snipe both teams and at one point rush Team Blue as they were being rerushed by red which can be seen at 9:50. This in my oppinion lost us the fight as we were told to focus west, which spread us and allowed Red to push and kill most of those left southeast. Overall Team Red won in what was a very fun fight despite the lag. You can see at certain points I don't move or attack due to either lag or the fact I was also on my laptop on another account. This is Corrupt Pures, CP, Blue perspective as seen through Pl4n3ts Maul and Sean of E both operated by Charlie (me). Shame that this has caused alot of drama afterwards but overall was alot of fun. How the video ends kinda sums up the fight from a blue perspective. I raged at MG FTW for quite a bit after that lol.
I've owned several of these things in the past.

The IBM PC Convertible, released April 3, 1986, was IBM's first laptop computer and was also the first IBM computer to utilize the 3.5" floppy disk which went on to become the standard. Like modern laptops, it featured power management and the ability to run from batteries. It was the follow-up to the IBM Portable and was model number 5140. The concept and the design of the body was made by the German industrial designer Richard Sapper. It utilized an Intel 80c88 CPU (a CMOS version of the Intel 8088) running at 4.77 MHz, 256 kB of RAM (expandable to 512 kB), dual 720 kB 3.5" floppy drives, and a monochrome CGA-compatible LCD screen at a price of $2000. It weighed 13 pounds (5,8 kg) and featured a built-in carrying handle. The PC Convertible had expansion capabilities through a proprietary ISA bus-based port on the rear of the machine. Extension modules, including a small printer and a video output module, could be snapped into place. The machine could also take an internal modem, but there was no room for an internal hard disk. Pressing the power button on the computer did not turn it off, but put the machine into a "suspend" mode. This avoided the long process of booting up. The CMOS 80c88 CPU has a static core, which means that it can be stopped simply by stopping the system clock oscillator that is driving it, and it will hold its state indefinitely and resume processing at the point it was stopped when the clock signal is restarted, as long as it is kept powered ...
A new occasional series from Encore Enterprises. Originally called "H1...I WON!", I decided to rename the series to "Encore Let's Play" as the original title was topical humor that isn't so topical anymore. This new series will have me playing through retro video games...from start to finish. Will I be perfect? No. I just think there should be a video series on YouTube that shows a casual player trying to get through a game that one is naturally good at or knows how to play decently well, without the use of save states or emulators. This is also an upload for my college web design project. Im pretty much killing two birds with one stone here. In our first episode of "H1...I WON!", I play through a game that I have always excelled at...Super Mario Bros. on the NES. Even though I am a pretty good player, my run still isn't perfect. If you want to see a perfect run of SMB, then don't watch this video. There are lots of tool-assisted speedruns already uploaded on YouTube for your viewing pleasure. The equipment I used to capture this run: -FC Twin Video Game System in NES mode, using an official SNES controller. -Six-Head Hi-Fi VCR to record the game play footage in SP mode -25 Year Old "Sansui" VHS Tape -Zenith XBR716 DVDRecorder/VHS unit for transfer of gameplay footage to DVD. -My laptop computer to rip the DVD to AVI video format. -Windows Movie Maker for final editing. Oh...I didn't forget about the TV Playhouse Christmas Special either. That will be uploaded later this ...

I recently acquired a Zenith ZFL-181 (old, one of the original 8088 laptops) from eBay for $9.99 to reuse its case in a mod project. I reassembled its still-working guts into a Post Office shipment box. I wanted to try out the battery (which literally appears to be 10 C-Cells wrapped in plastic) to see how long it would run. It only ever runs about 3 minutes if doing absolutely nothing, but, as you will see, only about 17 seconds if the drive is busy. I execute a batch file that does nothing ...

Here's a gadget that should bring the computer into your home theater system a lot more. [ www.chinavasion.com ] Chinese electronic products makers seem to have figured out that when it comes to entertainment solutions around the house the simplest solution is often the best. Especially when it comes to connecting your PC to TV. Makers of the latest China wholesale electronic gadget to enter the fray, the HDMI converter box, do away with the whole wireless streaming idea and follows the 'wire goes in, wire goes out' solution. All that is required is to plug in the VGA cable into one port in the HDMI adapter and the HDMI cable into the other end and you've got yourself a PC TV party. As a result this PC to TV video converter shouldn't only be good for getting videos from your computer to your TV via the VGA cable. You should also be able to get component video to HDMI just like VGA to HDMI so those 'older gadgets' like VCRs and the like can be hooked to the TV too. So HDMI Pong is a go. Check out the specs at [ www.chinavasion.com ] or see more of the China wholesale electronic gadgets available at [www.chinavasion.com ].
